Although it was on the 6 th floor it had an elevator when we were tired from our huge day walking in Paris. It was well equipped with everything we needed. Except the cleaning lady / key person did not know we were 5 so all the beds were not made up . It was clean Amd well maintained. Loved the slanted roof with electric shades. The bathtub without a shower was a little annoying . It was hard to bath. Other than that it was fairly quiet and very close to the metro.
Nestled in the famous aristocratic Marais district, this absolutely adorable, clean and well designed apartment gave us the feeling that we were Parisien returning to our home in the city. I met my son and his girlfriend halfway through their european adventure and we found the apartment comfortable, quiet and spacious. I loved the kitchen. It was renovated to a high standard with everything available if you wanted to cook or even bake. The large inviting bathroom with its soaker tub lured you into taking a bath after a long day of walking. I found this really relaxing. The duvet and bedding was high quality and made sleeping enjoyable. There were great books/ maps/ games and tasteful pieces of furniture from parts of the world that made this place feel like a real home. There was a grocery store right across the street and it was a perfect location to venture out in either direction. I took a free guided tour of the area with Discover Walks and then realised why this area was favoured by the french nobility. It is now the place to be if you are Parisien with its hip galleries, trendy restaurants, and fashion houses. I felt like I had found a diamond in the rough after this tour and will definitely return again with my husband or a friend. Thomas and his wife were sweet and very helpful. My teenage son and his girlfriend also loved the small very european style elevator and they were most happy that the internet worked quickly. I recommend this place highly.
My husband, daughter and I stayed at the adorable apartment. We loved the décor and location which allowed us to walk everywhere. There are several nice and very nice restaurants close by. The market is right across the street which we visited every evening on returning from sight seeing.
My teenage daughter and I stayed at this charming apartment for 8 nights on her first trip to Paris. Booking was easy and Mr. Lange, the owner, was responsive and helpful.
The apartment is small, but perfect for two people. My daughter slept in the alcove, which has a door for privacy. I slept on the sofa, which was not great, but certainly good enough.
The apartment is under the eaves on the sixth floor (7th for Americans), but the elevator was reliable and we never had to wait for another tenant.
The kitchen was small and functional, but we missed having a microwave. We found all pans and utensils that we needed. Especially nice is the small grocery store directly across the street.
There is a metro station about 3 blocks away.
This is not in a touristy part of town, and the street is very quiet (except at night, when cafe patrons could be heard through the open windows), so we rarely saw tourists while in the neighborhood. We felt safe during daylight but did not venture out at night. Perhaps it was safe, but we didn't know.
The one complaint I have is the heat. We went in early August and the days were very warm. The portable A/C unit was not enough for the entire apartment so we kept it in the alcove with the door closed. That room was perfectly comfortable. The rest of the apartment was too hot for sleeping but we found an oscillating fan which made things better. Of course, if you visit at a more reasonable time of year, heat won't be a problem.
The wi-fi connection was fast and reliable, which is important for those of us who can't afford international roaming.
Thanks to Mr. Lange for providing such a lovely place to stay!
Thanks for a great stay. Apartment is like the pictures, airy and light, with friendly neighbours and roses on the table to welcome us to Paris. Location is excellent for walking and bus/metro. Great restaurants and markets nearby. Good closet space and comfy sofa bed. Will recommend to friends!
Thank you, Thomas! The apartment is bright, airy, full of sunshine, clean, convenient, and welcoming--and feels very safe and secure. I've never slept on such a comfortable sofa bed! The amenities were excellent--wifi, a working elevator, good appliances, a huge soaker-tub in the large bathroom, complete with dimmer-controlled lighting, and windows throughout. It was perfect size and fit for a colleague and myself who were attending a conference. The location was very good--close to the metro and lots of activity. Paris was stunning (despite a heatwave) and the apartment was charming! It made the stay altogether memorable, and I will recommend it to friends!
