The Village of Orient Bay is a 10 mn walk up the beach. Besides the astonishing sea sight which you have as soon as you enter in the condo, you will be delighted at the sight of the magnificent private swimming pool of 550sm and the 2 tennis courts

Our vacation in St. Martin was brought to another level due to the amazing time we had in this location. We would like to recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful couples break.
The views were absolutely breathtaking! We would just sit and watch the sunsets and listen to the waves each evening.
The apartment was well maintained, clean and previous pictures were accurate. . Bruno has for mission to make sure that all guests are looked after from the time they arrive to the time they leave. We would like to thanks him
We had a rental car, and it was great to have a parking spot right in front of the apartment. There is also a great supermarket just a few minutes drive down the road.
We will be back again next year , for the second time!
As soon as we walked in I knew we had made a mistake. This unit is listed as newly renovated, and I am sure that was true at one time, but EVERYTHING is tired and dirty and broken. Over half of the glassware was chipped/broken, there were 2 services for cutlery and the one set was completely destroyed, one kitchen cupboard is completely unusable as it is full of cockroach feces (have pictures as does Bruno), dishwasher cannot be used as there is a huge electrical problem with leaking water that throws the breakers resulting in virtually no power to kitchen. The bathroom was filthy, shower most especially, and the shower curtain was truly disgusting. We became aware of cockroaches on night 2 and notified Bruno immediately, his idea of addressing the problem was to buy us a can of Raid and refused our idea of having the unit visited by an exterminator. On night 4 we had a 3" cockroach IN OUR BED....needless to say we slept with ALL the lights on for the next 5 weeks we were there!!! On a personal note there is just way to much stuff in this unit. It is a studio apartment but has the capability to seat 14 for dinner! The pictures show quite a lot of closet space but there is only one that has the capability to hang your clothes and it is filled with the cleaning equipment for the unit (i.e. vacuum cleaner, mop, cooler, broom, dustpan, etc.) which does not leave much room for your clothes. The fake flowers are dirty and extremely old fashioned, the walls are dirty and in desperate need of repainting and the furniture is dated and dirty. Because the track for the sliding glass door has never been cleaned it makes it very difficult to open and close the door...it would be almost impossible for the elderly. Even though Bruno replied promptly to every concern we had it was not a pleasant stay for us and because we were here for 38 days the length of our vacation made it impossible to find alternate accommodations. One thing about Mount Vernon is that there are no cars allowed in the complex meaning that you must carry your luggage and all your groceries, every time you shop, to your unit, and the parking is not close. And the amount of dog poop on the sidewalks, yes I said sidewalks, is appalling!
After extensive research, and influenced by the 5 star reviews, we booked 4 weeks at this condo. Bruno, the manager, was unable to greet us but he sent his assistant, Sandy. We noticed the shower head was broken and emailed Bruno but it took him 6 days to repair it. After 3 weeks the air conditioner broke so we contacted Bruno again. It was Sunday so he couldn't send a repairman until Monday. The repairman was unable to fix the A/C so he installed a new one on Tuesday. After we complained about the inconvenience, Bruno provided us with another unit for Monday night. Although Bruno replied promptly to our texts, we never met him and his actions should have been quicker. Overall we enjoyed our vacation but we were disappointed with the accommodations. The following is our review:
- excellent view of ocean & beautiful, long beach for walking
- 2 ceiling fans provided a nice breeze
- blackout curtains kept the unit dark in the mornings
- king size bed was reasonably comfortable
- nice large swimming pool with direct access to beach
- shower leaks & bathroom needs a complete renovation
- TV picture has a blue streak going through it & needs to be replaced
- dishwasher wasn't working
- the unit needs to be painted & redecorated (new bedspread, pillows, larger bath towels)
- there was no kitchen sink plug, wash clothes or dish clothes
- the closet doors were out of their tracks (we fixed them ourselves)
- there are holes in the kitchen cupboards which enables bugs into the unit
- Mont Vernon complex is run down & it is situated on a hill making walking difficult
We spent 8 days in this very nice rental. We chose it for location and beautiful ocean view. You could walk from the condo to Orient Beach and it was heavenly. The unit was very nice with everything we needed. Just a few minor repairs on a couple things could be done, but nothing substantial. Just an FYI for those choosing any unit in Mont Vernon, it does required a lot of walking as you go from the parking lot to any unit. There is no close parking. We found a great grocery store just a short drive away with everything we needed. We were pleasantly greeted by Bruno who was very helpful with explaining how everything worked as well as great directions on getting to this place from the airport. Driving anywhere on the island was easy once you grasp the narrow roads and local drivers. We would definitely book again because we were all about the ocean view location. We spent everyday on the beach!
We chose this location due to the proximity and view of Orient Beach. It's a 3 min walk from the condo to the beach. The condo has everything you need for a relaxing stay for two. The kitchen is well-supplied, and the washer is a nice convenience. The view is spectacular. Groceries are nearby at Simply Market, a 5-10 min drive. While the Mont Vernon onsite grocery store is pretty limited, the made-to-order pizza is excellent. Good food at almost every price is nearby at Grand Case (loved the Creole cooking at Villa Royale). We had a rental car delivered to Mont Vernon from AutoMax, and with our Garmin loaded with a map of St. Martin, it was easy to find our way around the island. Parking in the lot by the tennis courts can definitely be a hike, but we didn't mind. Hope we can return someday! We definitely recommend this condo to anyone looking for a week to relax in the sun.
This is a wonderful residence with a perfect view at sunrise and of Orient Bay and St Barths in the distance. It is well maintained and well-equipped. It is important to remember it is a private condo, it is not in a full service resort. That being said, the location is ideal, the pool area is very clean and well-managed, and the beach access is just right. The kitchen is modern and clean and has everything you need for a vacation. The supermarket is close by, and the drive to good restaurants is brief. The nearest beach bar is about a 10 minute walk south along the beach. You should rent a car to stay here. This was our second time to Mont Vernon, and first time to this particular studio condo. We fully intend to return as soon as possible.
If you love scuba diving as I, you have a very professionnal center 20 minutes walk from the condo!
