The Cal Xino cottage is just 500 m away from Pollença, the Pollença centre can be reached in 15 minutes by foot. This country-specific freestone villa is situated lovely nestled in a beautiful, well grown garden. There is a pool (10 m x 5 m) with outdoor shower, sun loungers, parasol, natural shade, as well as a small, cultivated lawn surrounding the pool and the sun terraces. The covered front terrace is equipped with an original wooden table and terrace chairs. In the rear zone, above the pool area, there is a further, detached, small terrace with a small table, chairs, and outdoor barbecue. This is ideal and practical, because it`s also situated next to the kitchen. Through a rustic, solid wooden door, you will get from the terrace area to the entrance hall on the ground floor. Here, there is the living space with a fully fitted kitchen, including an own small dining area, the living and dining room, one of the double bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, including sitz bath and shower. From the living space a staircase leads to the first floors with 3 more bedrooms and a large bathroom. All rooms are equipped friendly and brightly. The Cal Xino cottage features a/c. In the front terrace area, there is a Ping-Pong table for the more active people. A game of table tennis is a nice diversion concerning the lazing at the pool. It`s typically Majorcan. Cal Xino is a really special place for holidays with friends or family. Already as you enter the cottage, you will notice the country-specific character through many details. The covered terraces complete the cosy, but stylish atmosphere. In the house, as well as on the terrace areas, numerous seating offer pretty diversion for convivial evenings. From the living room with eating area and from the kitchen, you will get directly to the spacious front terrace. The kitchen also leads to the rear terrace with barbecue. Orange and olive trees, flowering shrubs, and rustic freestone walls deck the garden area, laid out with much attention to detail. Yes, there is also the small hideaway around the corner of the entry, a nook with wooden table, benches, and an original, Majorcan, antique charcoal oven. It is a further, nice seating, maybe rather for the windier or cooler days. The proximity of Pollença is a highlight. A short walk leads you in only 15 minutes to the historic old town of Pollença with shops, cafés, and restaurants.

Cal Xino was a great property, exactly as described in the information.

We had a most enjoyable holiday at this property. Karin was excellent at answering any queries promptly. She also arranged for a very efficient taxi company to shuttle us to and from the airport, which was excellent. Karin would also have arranged car hire for us, but as we were only staying for a week, we used local buses, often walked into Pollensa and sometimes booked taxis. (We were three couples who don't mind walking. Families with children would probably need a car, especially in the heat of the summer and to access supermarkets etc.) If we had been staying for longer we would certainly have hired a car to explore more of the island. Throughout our stay Karin and her husband Jaume, could not have been more helpful.

Where the house is situated is private and not particularly close to amenities.The house was well appointed. The walk in shower was on the ground floor. There was plenty of outdoor space with delightful gardens. A covered terrace was excellent for providing shade and outdoor dining. The swimming pool was a good size and there were plenty of loungers to relax on.

Great villa, ideal location.

Very enjoyable one week stay August 2017. Villa was spotlessly clean and very well maintained. Any minor issues were immediately addressed and the midweek bedding and towel change, along with the villa clean was very welcome. Pool depth ranges from 1 to 2 metres so great for good swimmers.

The walk to town is approx. 15 minutes of which half of that is on roads with no pavements, however well lit for most of the journey.

Highly recommend this Villa.

Nice Finca with a beautiful garden and swimmingpool

Quiet location close to Pollenca. Supermarkets just a short drive away. The garden was so beautiful and the swimmingpool was well taken care of. Karin met us upon arrival and gave us information about the house and the surrondings. If there was a problem we could just call her and we got the help we needed.

We would all love to go back!

Excellent property in great location.

A fantastic location, beautiful pool and immaculate house. The walk from the villa to the centre of town for us was exactly 20 mins.

We did not have a car and it was not required, our only comment is, that it would be beneficial to name or number the villa as this assists local taxi's and transfer vehicles from the airport.

A great holiday had by our group.

Lovely house, great holiday

We really enjoyed our stay at Cal Xino.

The pool is excellent - and a really good size for a private pool (big enough to allow 3 adults to enjoy ridiculous swim races such as 'swim like an Egyptian'). When at the house we spent most of our time lounging about in the well-maintained garden, and watching the antics of the chickens. There was no difficulty finding places to sit apart from each other when we just felt like a bit of quiet time for reading.

The house was absolutely spotless when we arrived, and Jaume met us and showed us round. We all found the beds very comfortable. There's very little to choose between the bedrooms - which is great for adult groups. (No one will have to be noble and take the horrid room, there isn't one!) The upstairs shower is slightly feeble, but perfectly adequate, the downstairs one is very good. And plenty of hot water.

We enjoyed using the barbecue, having salad lunches, and eating out - so I didn't pay much attention to the cooking equipment. Certainly we had everything we needed - although some tupperware storage would have been handy.

We usually walked into Pollença for dinner. Its about a 20 minute walk - a bit longer if you keep getting distracted by the views. beautiful buildings, and the cakes in the bakery on Carrer de la Mar. Our friend was recovering from a serious foot injury, which limited his walking, so we took a taxi home every evening (from the taxi rank in Pollença or once from Port de Pollença, and got picked up a couple of times too. Jaume kindly gave us the number of lovely Alfonsa, who knows exactly where the house is, and brought her taxi to the gate.

The house is a great base for excursions, and going to the beach. We hired a car, but you can take a bus to Port de Pollença for example. Alcudia, Cala San Vincenç, and Inca are all an easy drive away. We drove out to Cap Formentor, and had a rather pricey drink at the swanky Hotel Formentor, and also had a day trip to Soller. We took the bendy (mountain) road there (fantastic) and the much faster, easier but more boring (highway) road back.

We really had a great time - thank you Karin and Jaume.

Cal Xino cottage is situated just ten minutes from Pollença by foot. Pollença's old town is easily one of the most beautiful and traditional of northern Majorca. The town is nestled in an idyllic setting at the foot of Tramuntana Mountains. Because of their unique history, these mountains were declared a world cultural heritage site a few years ago. You can enjoy the town of Pollença at any time of day: having breakfast in one of its cafés, shopping in one of its boutiques, gift shops, or jewellery stores. There is a good number of art galleries, museums, and various restaurants, where you can have lunch or dinner. Perhaps, you will just let the day go by on the picturesque market plaza, sitting comfortably with a glass of wine. The Sunday morning market fills Pollença with colours and life. In the narrow streets around the market plaza, you will find stands with different wares, original and in good taste, like the town itself. In the market plaza, you can supply yourself with fruit and vegetables for the week, as well as with traditional Majorcan products and real treats. Pollença also offers numerous delis, with a large selection of these Majorcan products. These gourmet stores also have wine sections, where you can find Spanish wines. There are classics, such as Rioja, Navarra, Ribera del Duero, Somontana, Rueda, and, of course, Majorcan wines. There are numerous wineries throughout Majorca, the latest census counted around 70 wineries. Over the years, the island has become a high-class wine region, with its relatively young wines gathering a strong following. If you would like to try the wine directly from the source, you will have countless opportunities here in Majorca, including a few in Pollença and its surroundings. We can gladly set you up with our wine guides. The harbour, Port de Pollença, is ideal for strolls along its pine-fringed beach promenade and by its exclusive marina. There is a wide array of athletic activities, such as surfing, kite surfing, sailing (Hobie Cat, catamaran, and sailboats), jet skiing, water-skiing, and much more. If shopping is your thing, Pollença and Port de Pollença offer numerous shops and restaurants, from traditional Majorcan restaurants with fresh fish from the bay to the somewhat more exotic Indian or Japanese restaurants. You will be able to choose between traditional or exotic food. Cala San Vicente is the next bay over from Pollença. It is the jewel of Pollença, stunningly set amidst the Tramuntana Mountain Range, with a view of the picturesque Mediterranean and the emblematic mountain, Cavall Bernat.
