Why Aloha and mahalo for your inquiry/booking! CONTACT FOR ACCURATE AVAILABILITY :) chose Kalama Tract
This home was built for our tutu, Moana, in 1939-40; it was one of the first houses in the neighborhood, when the streets were paved with crushed coral. Moana married and moved to Kailua, from Waikiki, to raise a family of three. The older generation remained in Waikiki, in the family home there, until the mid '50's. We built onto the main house in 2003 to create what is now our studio apartment, Hale Moana. We hope you enjoy the space we've created as much as our guests, friends and family members do.
What makes this Studio unique
This spot in Kailua is close to the beach and just far enough away from Kailua Town to be the perfect jumping off point for an island excursion, a lazy day down the access path to the center of Kailua Bay or for enjoying the happy bustle of Kailua Town with its shops, food and activities.

Wonderful. We shouldn’t have left
We rented this place for our honeymoon. Enjoyed kailua. It was dreamy. Place looks better in person than the photos. Everything about this place is magical. We left Jenifer’s place to enjoy waikiki but we shouldn’t have done that. We were 100 steps from the beach. Couple minutes from downtown. House is surrounded by beautiful tropical trees and decor and high ceiling were amazing touch to our honeymoon I wouldn’t come to waikiki but I could stay at this house forever. Jennifer! Thank you for being an amazing host!
Mahalo for making time to put your appreciation of my studio apartment online! I am so glad to hear your stay in Kailua was lovely for your special celebration and new beginnings. Next time perhaps I can have you for the WHOLE time? Aloha for now and best wishes for lots and lots of love and joy. (I will be updating photos... thank you for that comment :).
Lovely beach studio
Everything about Hale Moana is perfect: location, decor, attentive owner, and proximity to beautiful beach. We would love to return!
Perfect spot for one or two people
A physically beautiful place with a caring Hawaiian host. Close to an amazing beach. Be prepared to live island style, i.e. without AC, if that’s necessary for you - the superb ventilation and available fans make this a non-issue for most folks. A sweet place :)
Let me start by saying this cottage is beautiful. Once you pull up to the cottage you will be pleased with the shaded off street parking. The cottage itself is well decorated, spacious and has everything you could possibly need. The bed was super comfy. The kitchen was equipped with all the little necessities needed if you wanted to stay in. Having access to beach towels, chairs, umbrella and cooler was very convenient. The beach is a quick walk down the street so you don’t need to drive. Plenty of great hikes and restaurants nearby. Lots of great activities, SUP and swimming with the sharks at North Shore in Haleiwa was amazing. I’m returning in August for two weeks and was bummed that the cottage is unavailable. Anytime I return to Oahu this cottage will always be my first choice to rent. Thanks so much for being a great hostess, loved my visit
Great space with attention to detail. Lovely decoration and very comfortable accommodations. Kailua is a great town to vacation in with fantastic beaches. Very good location and very private. We will come back here.
If/When we go back to Oahu, definitely we will stay here again! The place is very nicely decorated, and it is very close to the beach, although we mostly drove to the Kailua Beach Park. Waking up with the birds and the daylight filing the room were priceless. Jennifer was also very helpful both before and during our stay!
Kailua - windward side of Oahu. Nicely situated, beautiful town and ocean. Between Waimanalo and Kaneohe. Main roads in and out are Kamehameha Highway ('circle island' route, 'beach road'), Pali Highway (Kailua to Honolulu/Waikiki) and H3 Highway (Kailua to Pearl Harbor).
My Hale Moana is just up from the Kalama Beach Club and Kalama Beach Park, cross the "beach road", walk the sandy access path and you are at the center of Kailua Bay; a three mile stretch of one of the "best beaches in the U.S.".
Other Activities: boating, basketball court, shopping, kayaking, wildlife viewing, spa, miniature golf
