Passion for Morocco and the Berber population!
We have had the most amazing time on our holiday.
Such a beautiful, private property to spend time in.
It is fairly remote but, with the owners dogs guarding the property you feel completely safe and at ease.
It's very spacious but warm and welcoming at the same time, with an open fire to use on a chilly evening.
A generous amount of towels and bedding to use and a well equipped kitchen, complete with washing machine and dishwasher made our lives so much easier, especially with small children in tow
The pool isn't heated so is fairly cold in the milder season but our children braved it a few times.
The outside area (pool and garden) is outstanding we found tortoises and lizards amongst other things and the oranges you can pick fresh from the trees are not to be missed.
It is appropriately named the 'garden of stars' we have never witnessed a more spectacular night sky, cuddled up, with blankets on loungers was just wonder under the Brightest stars we had ever seen.
Its in an area that isn't full of sun worshiping tourists. You actually get to see a genuine part of Morocco which we have loved and has been an amazing experience for us and our children too.
So many places close by to visit for adults and children.
We are already planning our next trip to do the things we didnt have time for.
Jean-Luc (the owner) couldn't have been anymore helpful with suggestions on places to visit, we would have missed out on some experiences if it wasn't for his help.
letting us know the temperatures so we knew what to pack was so helpful too.
The steward of the property, Hafid is on hand for anything you may need, a very lovely man who doesn't invade your privacy in the slightest.
He was even kind enough to escorts us to the local souk.
We can't thank them enough for how welcome we felt and how much of the area we got to see.
I can't see anyone being disappointed, we certainly weren't.
Just like the pictures! Stunning Villa in VERY rural but beautiful location. Exactly what we wanted.
The owner was extremely helpful, organising everything for us including car hire and a meal on arrival.
The caretaker was also lovely, as was the wonderful cook who we highly recommend you book! She came back and cooked for our last night.
40 minute drive to Agadir - which is well worth the trip.
Some lovely restaurants etc, and the harbour is definitely worth a visit
Highly recommended and should we come back to the area, would definitely book again
I had a realy nice hollyday there, a Moroccan immersion, a great house in a quiet place with a beautiful garden full of fresh fruit miammm i want to be there again !! I recommend
The riad is an ideal location: in the heart of a region renowned for the orchard of Morocco (orange and other citric groves, also cultivation of fruits and vegetables). The argan, the protected mythical tree used to produce the argan oil for culinary and cosmetic purposes grows here as well.
The villa and terraces offer wonderful panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains and the agriculture fields. The recently built building is located in a very quiet place famous for its wild birds that feel very attracted by the water of the pool and their chirping is especially appreciated by guests.
In the nearest town of Ouled Teima (6 km) you can find a typical Souk where the locals do almost all their shopping. It is worthwhile to stroll through the fruit, vegetable, meat and fish stands where also clothing, shoes and other articles are offered. In front of the Souk you will find the walls of a big riad dating from the era of the French domination which ended in the year 1956 with the independence of Morocco.
30 min. from the villa are the old collective stores (agadirs) which represent the millenary Berber culture with strong influence on the region of Souss-Massa-Drâa. The riad architecture, colours, symbols and interior decoration are strong evidence of this culture.
Within a few minutes´ drive you will reach another must see: a presentation which combines Arabic folklore and berber tradition accompanied by a luxurious dinner served in Caïdat tents. Mondays and Wednesdays are reserved for individuals (http://chemsayour.maroc-contacts.com).
Leaving the riad it is very easy to meet people, landscapes and authentic objects of the Atlas, Anti-Atlas and the Souss-Region. The houses built of pisé (walls of loam soil) remain the best method of building houses as it was in the last centuries.
We recommend the following activities in the Souss Region: visits of the orange plantation and an organic medicinal herbs production (mint, sage, geranium etc.), round trip on the back of a donkey in the freshness of the palm grove, natural pool in the Atlas mountains (1.250 m asl), in the surroundings the cave of Wim Tindouine (direction Immouzer).
In Agadir (35 km): former fortified Kasbah, Valley of the Birds (zoo), Museum of the Town, handicraft village of Kasbah Souss, Medina of Coco Polizzi, Souk El Had (Morocco´s hugest), National Parc of Souss-Massa (last Glatzenibis on Earth, Addax antelopes, gazelles and wild ostrichs), shopping centers, restaurants (Moroccan, French and international dishes), dancing halls with and without entertainment.
Sports: Fine sandy beach on the shore of Agadir (10 km long with a luxuriously equipped beach promenade), many wild beaches (Beach of Tifnit), world-renowned surf and kiteboarding spot, Waterpark of Imourane, 4 golf courses (with a total of 99 holes) open all year round, fishing and underwater fishing on the seaside in the North and South of Agadir, horse riding, tennis and bike riding.
- Taroudant (45 km by highway express): a town much older than Marrakesh with high, ocherous walls all around
- Taliouine: cooperative which produces the world´s best saffron, Kasbah (ancient palace)
- “Tiznit”: Berber town surrounded by walls, famous for its silver jewellery
- Tizourgane: former small town on a rocky peak, Moroccan lunch
