This Papakea condominium has a commanding ocean view of Molokai and Lanai. You will be able to enjoy breakfast in the morning and toast the sunset in the evening from the privacy of your own lanai that is just 50 feet from the ocean. Winter is the season for whale and dolphin watching; bring your binoculars.

You will awake to the sites and sounds of the beautiful surf from your loft sleeping suite. Perk some Kona coffee and start your day Maui style, slow and easy. A morning walk along the ocean will take you as far away as Black Rock on beautiful Kaanapali Beach or as close as the off shore reef.

Papakea has 13 acres of lush gardens with tropical koi ponds. The tennis courts, putting greens and pools/hot tubs make your time as relaxing or as busy as you chose. Children especially enjoy swimming in the pools and making sand castles by the ocean. You have the option of dining in by using the newly remodeled kitchen or by barbecuing poolside or by heading out to any one of the numerous restaurants within a five mile radius.

The main floor bedroom can sleep three with one queen-size bed and one twin bed. The loft sleeping area sleeps two on a queen-size bed and has its own bathroom. There is also a high quality queen-size sleeper sofa in the livingroom.

About Lou & Patty Bellardo

Hello To All -

Lou & I (Patty) have enjoyed raising our children with fun filled Papakea vacations. Now we are bringing our grandchildren. We are blessed. Papakea has a family friendly environment. Our unit, L-404, was totally renovated and remodeled a few years ago. The results were even better than we expected; it’s incredible. Come and share our home away from home. Since we are both retired now, we try to get over there as often as we can. We keep the calendar (link above) up-to-date. We have been there many times since Lou retired and enjoyed buying new curtains and doing the little detail fix-ups.

One of our many favorite parts of the day is to grab some pineapple or papaya with a slice of toast and sit out on the lanai as we ease into the day.

Our children also still enjoy Papakea, bringing their children and their friends.

Why Lou & Patty Bellardo chose Maui

Location, Location, Location. After many visits to the Island and staying in many places, we chose Papakea because it is at just the right spot on the coast. Further north was too windy and further south was too hot. Papakea is just right. Being on the 4th floor we have a vaulted ceiling which makes the condo feel like the living room is part of the outdoors.

What makes this condo unique

Nothing can beat the fantastic sunsets from our lanai. We look straight out to Molokai with Lanai a little off to the left. The front windows stay open the entire time we are there so that we can listen to the sound of the ocean coming to shore. We have solar curtain panels in the front room, so when the curtains are closed we can still see the ocean and have our privacy at the same time. We BBQ once or twice every visit and often times just stay in the ocean side cabana and eat our dinner there.

Best Value Maui Beachfront Unit

Let's begin by saying that I write this as a normalized review. In other words, it is a review against what was advertised, not against some absolute scale. I think we can all agree that Papakea is not the Ritz. Having said that...

With out a doubt, this has to be the best value I have seen in the 20+ years of visiting Maui. The views from the 4th floor balcony are breathtaking. On April 17th (most people say the whales are long gone in April) my 9 year old came screaming to me that there were whales on the beach. Well, not on the beach, but no more than 100 yards from the bulkhead were a mom, calf, and additional adult humpback whale making there way south along the shoreline. Had we been on the ground floor we probably could have seen them, but chances are if you are on the ground floor, you are not scanning the water like you are when you have this incredible view. Coupled with the sound of crashing surf, the balcony view(s) are a tremendous bonus to any Hawaiin vacation.

Again, related to value, this condo does have what I would describe as a smaller floorpan; however, we never felt cramped during our stay. There are two queen beds and a single, all of which were comfortable (not too soft or worn). Together with two full size baths, you can easily accommodate 5-6 adults. The kitchen, while not huge, has plenty of space for preparing a large meal and contains probably any utensil or pot/pan you could possibly need. Finally, there were plenty of towels, sheets, beach towels, beach toys, etc. to fill out our stay.

Papakea is great for kids. The pool was never very crowded, in fact, upon visiting Duke's for dinner, we were surprised how packed full their pools were. In fact, in the 7 days we stayed, were never once shared the elevator. Overall, it has resort feel without the crowds.

Finally, on our way to the airport I asked my wife is she would stay there again. Knowing her penchant for the Ritz and the finer spoils in life, I was surprised when she said, "without a doubt, my favorite place yet". And I would agree...the value will keep us coming back here.

Great West Maui set up

This condo was perfect for my wife and I and our 2yo son. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. You could hear the ocean whenever inside the unit which was really relaxing and the sunset views from the deck were great. The resort seemed to be a perfect jumping off place for excursions around West Maui and also had some cool things nearby including a nice beachfront park with a farmer's market across the street. We would definitely come back and stay here.

Perfect Maui Unit

We have been visiting Papakea on and off for the past 39 years and absolutely love it. The oceanfront unit that we had been renting recently sold, leaving us the task of finding a replacement of equal quality. We found Lou and Patty's to be exactly what we were looking for. We were a party of six, staying nine days and found L-404 worked perfectly for us. As usual the grounds were impeccable, even with the seawall construction which was absolutely no burden at all. To a person, all of us loved this unit and will return in the future.

We miss the lanai!

We stayed at Lou and Patty's condo for a week and it was wonderful! Lou was so on top of things and his communication (even though he was out of the country at the time!) was quick and thorough. Great customer service! The condo was very clean and the kitchen was better stocked I think than my own home! We still miss all the meals on the lanai. The view from the lanai was as good as it gets. It's very close to a great running and walking path as well. We highly recommend this condo and would not hesitate to rent it again. Thanks for being so on top of things Lou! We loved it.

Amazing views

This place is about as close to the water as you can get. We sat on the lanai almost every night to eat dinner and watch the sunset. The condo was well equipped and had everything we needed for our family of five. The owners were very responsive, professional, and provided a lot of additional information about the condo ahead of time. It was nice that the price of the condo included cleaning and resort fees and our deposit was returned in full in about two weeks time.

Great View, Great Place!

We stayed at Lou and Patty's place with another couple and had an amazing time! You couldn't ask for a better view of the ocean anywhere! We actually did get to see a Whale from our balcony, even though it was quite a distance away it was still amazing! This condo is equipped with anything you could possible need and then some. It is located close to everything! It is very comfortable and clean and we enjoyed our stay. Lou was so helpful and his response time on any questions was immediate! We will definitely recommend this condo to family and friends!
