Resort style residence, nestled in the hills above the city with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean, San Diego harbor, Mexico, Coronado, Laguna Mountains and downtown. This 3000+ square foot 5 bedroom 3 bath residence offers gracious spaces, exceptional quality, exciting amenities and comforts for everyone. As you can see from the photos, this home is not your typical vacation rental. It has been tastefully and professionally decorated with high end new furniture and artwork. Conveniently located in Mission Hills, one of the most upscale and affluent neighborhoods in San Diego, this home is truly the BEST in California City Living.

Where to start... How about the drive up and curb appeal. Dramatic is an appropriate beginning. This Spanish Contemporary has lush landscaping complete with flora of many genres. A stunning cascading water fall and pond greets the visitor. Notice the beautiful front door which is a statement all in itself. And you’ll have no trouble finding parking with space for 4 cars in the driveway plus ample space on the street.

Step inside and you have a multi-level home which is completely workable from just one level. Home boasts grand living and family spaces with views from almost every window. The living room boasts large windows which drown the space in light and ambiance. In addition to the amazing views of the bay and downtown, the centerpiece of this room is the floor to ceiling natural stone gas fireplace.

From here a walk down the hall takes you into an incredible remodeled kitchen sporting new stainless steel KitchenAid appliances including a beverage center/chiller, crushed granite countertops, and a Lyptus butcher block island with 2nd sink to start. This gourmet cooks paradise is fully stocked with all the gadgets, spices and cookware you’ll need to create a meal even Rachel Ray would be proud of. While you cook, your family and friends will enjoy the fantastic family room spacious enough for all your creature comforts complete with fireplace, 50” Flat screen HDTV and 6 speaker Dolby surround sound.

The family room opens up onto the outdoor living area which may be the centerpiece of this home and makes this a vacation rental like no other. When you step outside you’ll be treated to a magnificent rebuilt pool and 10 person spa with waterfalls. The pool is complete with solar heating (fully functional during summer only) and state of the art PENTAIR pool pumps and equipment.

You and the kids will enjoy lounging on pool floats or relaxing in the comfortable chaise lounges soaking up the famous Southern California sun. In addition to your own private waterpark there is a gourmet stainless steel fully equipped BBQ and outdoor gas fireplace for your family and friends to gather around at night. You’ll find plenty of outdoor seating with room for 6 at the BBQ bar and seating for 4 more at the table located above on the wrap-around balcony accessible from the pool via the spiral staircase. From this spacious balcony you’ll be blown away by the incredible views of the mountains, downtown, Coronado, the Pacific Ocean and during certain times- breathtaking fireworks displays. This is the best spot in town during the Forth of July because you’ll witness coordinated fireworks displays from 4 separate locations throughout the city. The outdoor space is exceptional and provides the PERFECT setting for a family bbq.

This is a wonderful home for those of you looking to create great memories. Its centrally located, has amazing views, very spacious and located in a very upscale neighborhood. It really does have a very private resort feel with your own secluded backyard oasis. I loved living here for many years and I hope you will too!

Mark, We were late returning (plane canceled) or I would have written sooner. The house worked out great for us! Everyone had a wonderful time together and the pool was excellent. The children loved it and the rafts were just terrific. The dryer was constantly going as our beach towels never got a chance to dry. I think there were plenty of dishes, glasses, etc. The grill was also great, need a new brush perhaps. The top bunk bed could use a siderail to prevent a child from rolling off. Nice touch to have some children's books there. You have done a very nice job decorating. The house was so convenient to every where we were going. Hope everything was left o'k and we are welcome to return. Beverly

Family Vacation

What a fantastic house!!! We had 8 adults and 4 kids. The location is ideal for almost anything you would want to do. We toured the Uss Midway and did a one hour harbor tour in an afternoon. We also went to the Zoo, Seaworld and Legoland all a short distance from the house. I would highly recommend to the Fish Market. The food was wonderful. We enjoyed the firepit every night we were there and the kids loved the pool. I would recomend Hawk Street to anyone wanting a spacious and beautiful place to vacation. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience!!

The house was everything we had expected and more. It was much bigger inside than anticipated and the yard/pool/neighborhood setup was outstanding. It was d want to see in San Diego (i.e. beaches, restaurants, nightlife, etc.). We truly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend the property to anyone looking for a great time in San Diego without having to be stuck downtown.

This is a beautiful home, and Matthew was helpful and accommodating. The pool and spa is great! This space was perfect for us -- 12 women stayed here for 3 days, and 4 more women spend the days there with us -- but note that there are 7 beds, not 8.

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Hawk Hacienda! The house was great with all the amenities. The view from the master bedroom balcony was amazing! We had a family get together in the afternoon and it was gorgeous day outside by the pool. Perfect place to hang out. The house is exactly as described.

Beautiful home in an exquisite neighborhood, close to everything and perfect for getting out the door for daily brisk hilly walks. Indoor and outdoor areas were spacious and comfortable and 11 of us had plenty of privacy and shared areas. Several things were not working (fans, TV connectivity, ice maker, etc,) but we managed and it did not take away from the perfect week. Beds and linens were very comfortable and air beds and crib were convenient. Kitchen is stocked up with spices and outdoor cooking stove was great after we cleaned up the jets and got all burners working. Hot tub, pool and waterfall were refreshing with ideal pool temperature. Excellent parking area and the house is very peaceful, away from the typical noise of San Diego traffic. Laundry room was handy, plenty of bath and beach towels available and a fun washer game out on the lawn.

There really is no reason to leave this home, but if you do you’ll find yourself located in the most convenient spot in San Diego! See just how close you would be by using the map link below. You are minutes from the airport terminal, the Balboa Park with all its museums, World Famous zoo, theater, Organ Pavilion and numerous other attractions. You are also minutes from Hillcrest, downtown, San Diego bay, the beaches, Little Italy, Petco Park, the Gaslamp District and many more places. And if you are looking to “go green” and save gas, many of these sites are within walking distance! If you are more adventurous, you’ll find the freeway 2 minutes away to take you anywhere your heart desires…

a. No damage is done to unit or its contents (lounge chairs, pool toys & umbrellas), beyond normal wear and tear.
b. No charges are incurred due to contraband, pets or collection of rents or
services rendered during the stay.
c. All debris, rubbish and discards are placed in large outdoor trash cans located in driveway (see item 15 below), and soiled dishes are placed in the dishwasher and cleaned. One load of laundry (towels or linens) is started (see “CLEANING” in section 20 below).
d. All keys are returned to lockbox and unit is left locked.
e. All charges accrued during the stay are paid prior to departure.
f. No linens or towels are lost or damaged.
g. No Early check-in or late check-out (unless agreed to in writing in advance).
