Less than 40 miles from fun-filled Wisconsin Dells.
Nestled in the trees, this chalet-style home has oak floors and a knotty pine cathedral ceiling. Relax on the decks, or take a short walk to the beach and boat landing with slips on Lake Petenwell. This location has it all.
Nearby you'll find golfing at the new Sand Valley Golf Resort (www.sandvalleygolfresort.com) or Lake Arrowhead Golf Course (www.lakearrowheadgolf.com), several lakes, excellent fishing, snowmobiling and ATV trails, cross-country and downhill skiing, hiking, and thousands of acres of public hunting land. Lake Petenwell is a premier sailing lake. Pontoon boat rental available at The Lure (715) 325-6555.
King beds are actually two twin beds put together.
There is no phone service, bring your cell phone!
We are WI natives that wanted a place to get away. We like to share, and invite you to experience what we love about Central WI!
Joel Ringelstetter or John Felten purchased this house in 1997
3 Dreamers built a home away from home the way they wanted it. Built with our bare hands, our first time as builders. We had a blast together while doing it! Visit us and tell us what you think.
4 of us came to this house for a golf and fishing weekend. Everything was as stated. The back porch was great as it rained half the time we were there. Joel was very easy to work with and helpful. The bar food and the service was fabulous at the Lure. We also rented a pontoon from them. (make sure you book it ahead of time as they only have 2) The Dirty Oar is a great supper club. All of our food tasted great and the service was also very good. (make reservations especially if you are going on a Friday night. We couldn't get in on Friday and went on Saturday)
Great rental house in a great location. Description on this site is accurate. The house has everything you need! Could actually sleep more than 8 people with all the beds, couches and futon. Very clean. I would definately recommend! Phone connection was not the greatest (Verizon) and there is no Wi-Fi. Only other negative was that the previous renters did not take out the trash, so the outside garbage was full. And the mosquitos were horrendous!! But, hey, we do live in Wisconsin so I guess that's to be expected.
The listing and description of the house and surroundings was accurate. The property was clean and well maintained. The owner provided excellent customer service. I would recommend this property to friends and relatives. The location was very remote and our time spent there peaceful and enjoyable. We saw lots of wild turkeys and deer. The surrounding beaches and lakes were clean. We spent time at the various surrounding parks.
My family has rented this wonderful home for the third time since 2009. The home is very neat and has everything you need to enjoy a getaway from the busy life.
Short walk to Lake Pettenwell beach or 5 minute drive to Lake Arrowhead. Both places aren't at all crowded even on weekends; have easy boat landings and very warm water for swimming. Fishing is great, too.
Wisconsin Dells' attractions are a short drive away, but we never bothered to go there.
John Felten, one of the owners, is very pleasant to deal with.
Our family enjoyed our stay. The home has a loft with 2 bedrooms that our kids had fun climbing the steps and looking down over the living/dining area and the main floor bedroom is right across from the bathroom. Woods surround the house. The owners are great to work with. It is a quick drive to beaches at Petenwell Lake as well as Arrowhead Lake. At Arrowhead we watched the Shermalot water ski show team perform for free! The beach there is nice for a young family, shallow for a quite a ways. It's a comfortable place to stay.
My family and another family rented this cabin/home for the Memorial Day weekend. What an excellent experience! It was clean. comfortable, spacious enough for 4 adults and 4 kids, and in great shape! Everything on the website was accurrate and then some...we've had bad experiences before and were a bit leary about trying this again. We were NOT disappointed! The kitchen was fully stocked with everything from cookware to corkscrews. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of sleeping space (everyone had an off the floor place to sleep as there was a futon in the lower level that was perfect for the kids). We enjoyed the campfire each night with PLENTY of wood available and when it rained, the back covered porch was a great place to still enjoy the gentle rain and the outdoors. A nearby BP gas station/grocery allowed us to grab a few things we ran out of or forgot and reasonable prices (yes, you read that right). We also loved the nearby beach which was just down the road...I would recommend driving though as the cars rush through pretty fast and aren't looking for walkers: esp. with kids and a load to take to the beach. It is easily walkable though, as we did that as well. The beach was great with lots of sand to play in and a huge swimming area. No lifeguards while we were there though- so take note. Bathrooms were in the bar/restuarant right at the beach/marina. That was also a nice feature. picinic tables and covered areas were available too. Overall, a great place to vacation rain or shine!!! I would recommend to anyone!!
