Our cottage is located 25 minutes from Burlington on Mills Point in Colchester, Vermont. It is conveniently situated near the Burlington bike path and the Colchester causeway. About Helaine Unger

I lived in Burlington for 27 years before moving to Boulder, Colorado. I raised 3 children in Vermont and still consider it my home.

Helaine Unger purchased this cottage in 2006

Why Helaine Unger chose Malletts Bay

Our property is unique in that our community of neighbors is special. Many of the folks on Mills Point live here year round. They are friendly, kind and generous and I consider myself lucky to be able to come home to such a place.

What makes this cottage unique

Mills Point is close enough to Burlington to feel cosmopolitan and far enough away to feel like a getaway. I love my cozy home on the lake and look forward to spending more time here in the future. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as I do.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a wonderful few days together, biking, walking, talking, playing games, eating, enjoying the quiet and beautiful place - hope to come back again.

Thank you!

Excellent Cottage with Lake Views and Access

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful and exceptionally well-kept property. Location perfect for biking on the causeway and islands, lake activities and biking or driving into town. Lovely calm, clear water and views from deck. Excellent kitchen set up and very comfortable for family of 4 or 5. Faces East for spectacular sunrise over water for early risers.

Highly recommended. Definitely bring watershoes for lake.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your lovely review of my property. And yes, bring water shoes as the entrance into the water is rocky!

So glad we stayed here!

  • 5 of 5

Another place would not have been more perfect for our family of 3. The house has everything you would ever need, and the location can't be beat if you want to be near the water, bike trails and the new north end of Burlington. Most of all, we SO appreciated the private location, quiet atmosphere, friendly neighbors, and obvious respect folks here have for their gorgeous green mountain location.

We made great use of the deck for a grilled dinner with a couple of friends, for morning coffee and newspaper, and for relaxing at sunset with a glass of great local wine.

The best doughnuts are a short drive away at Bayside Bakery, and Zachary's pizza is a hit when you'd rather not cook.

Thank you Helaine for making our first home away from home vacation enjoyable, easy, and stress free! We hope to return!

What a beautiful place to visit. My family and I had a wonderful experience. The views and area were perfect for some much needed time away. This house in particular was a great deal for the area and we'll definitely be back!

Great stay

  • 5 of 5

This cottage had everything we needed for our college/girls weekend - we had friends over for lunch on the deck, took long walks, swam in the lake and used the grill one night for dinner. Cottage is cute and cozy with lovely rooms.

Owner was very helpful making sure we were comfortable. It had all of the bells and whistles for an easy stay. It was spotless and the layout perfect for a family.

We are definitely coming back to this spot !!
