Shenandoah Valley Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2BR +loft, 1 Full Bath, 1half bath, Vacation Rental Natural Bridge, Virginia USA

This cabin is available all year! My beautiful log cabin in the country has all the amenities of home. It's the perfect place to get away and enjoy nature while staying in elegant and spacious accommodations. This is a special place when you need to kick back and relax! Antiques are set against old woodwork from a previous cabin on the site. The large gas log fireplace is a central feature of the great room. Curl up and enjoy an evening of reading, selecting from the nice collection of books. Or play any of the many board games provided. Grill on charcoal or gas. Enjoy your barbecue on the large back porch, or watch a beautiful sunset from the swing on the front porch.

Virginia Log Cabin is excellent for one or two couples, or a family, to enjoy while visiting this unique area of Virginia. Call me! any time! Thanks, Tom Bradshaw 540 463 2521

Log cabin in the country: My cabin was built for use as a vacation rental and has only been used that way. I have enjoyed the vacation rental business and the people who come to relax in the country. Many enjoyable times have been spent visiting with guests at the cabin. The caboose has been added to accommodate larger groups as well as to provide for individual rentals. There may be guests in the caboose during your visit. This usually does not present a problem as the caboose is on the property but separated from the cabin area by plantings Some guests rent both accomodations for larger groups.

About Thomas Bradshaw

I have lived near here in a 200 year old house since 1976. I bought the land for the cabin in 1982 and finally built the cabin in the spring of 1991. It has always been a vacation rental. My wife Faye and I have enjoyed meeting many of our guests over the 20 years and continue to do so. We have another vacation house in Lexington and have recently completed restoring the 1926 caboose.

Thomas Bradshaw purchased this cabin in 1991

Why Thomas Bradshaw chose Shenandoah Valley

We had spent enjoyable trips to Williamsburg and stayed in a vacation rental house in the restored area and thought that the idea of a vacation rental house in the country might be something that others would enjoy. It was not until the internet got into general usage is 1998 that the idea really became viable.

Guestbook comments from the owner

everything was great, we didn't want for anything,it even came with a very friendly dog, the home was beautiful and the landscaping was gorgeous. we had our morning coffee on the back porch while we watched the birds and squirrels. my mother went through the death of 2 sisters and my father in 4 months, needless to say she needed to get away, she said it was the most peaceful place she had ever been too. she also referred it to all my brothers and their famililes.

Great Place to stay

  • 5 of 5

I love log cabins and this one was a win. My family lives in Natural Bridge and when we all come to visit there is not a place we can all be together.

The cabin is homey and was very relaxing. I was less than 3 miles from my family which made it good.

We loved it and had a great time.

Owner's Response: My cabin is located only 2 miles from Natural Bridge and the Virginia Safari Park. My wife and have enjoyed hosting many guests for over 20 years. The caboose on the property affords the opportunity to host larger groups in conjunction with the cabin. Tom Bradshaw

Owner's Response: My wife, Faye and I have been renting our cabin for 24 years and enjoy having guests who appreciate what we have created. We have furnished the cabin with interesting collectibles and personal items so that it feels like home. We like for guests to think that we left just before they arrived. We were the first vacation rental in our area and were called non hosted lodging as opposed to b&b.

Fall Get-away

  • 5 of 5

Thank you very much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful cabin. It was everything we had hoped it to be and had everything we could ever need. We spent our mornings drinking coffee and rocking away lazy hours on the front porch and our evenings cooking hotdogs and smores around the back yard fire pit. My son and his wife were able to join us for two evenings and these old bones even played a game or two of badminton. We hike the natural bridge trail, visited the caverns and spent a day at the Virginia Safari. It was a great fall get-away. We also got to go inside the caboose; which was adorable and perfect for a young family or extra guests. Thanks again. We look forward to return visits.

Owner's Response: We have enjoyed hosting guests for 24 years at our cabin. Having a vacation rental has given us a chance to meet people from all over the world. As we get older we have to consider passing our cabin and caboose on to another person. I hope it can continue to host families well into the future. Wouldn't it be fun if a former guest could do this-- Tom Bradshaw 540 463 2621

Perfect way to start the New Year!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic time at the cabin. Our group span in ages from a preschooler to seniors. Everyone was busy relaxing and playing in and out of the cabin. The kids and dog made friends with the neighbor's horses, explored, played outdoor games, relaxed on the hammock, and roasted s'mores. The adults enjoyed the beauty and serenity of the cabin. There were lots of laughter and family time. We hiked the Lost River Trail.

This was a great gateway and we will definitely return.

A Little Piece of Heaven on Earth

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Tom's Cabin was wonderful. The cabin was adorable & had everything that we needed. Roomy enough that we all had our space. We so enjoyed the huge beautiful grassed yard area where we grilled out and enjoyed yard games (provided) and made s-mores on the fire pit (wood also provided on site) Great for family time! The train caboose on site is adorable. Kids will adore this! My little granddaughter loved it! Early morning breakfast on the back deck was so enjoyable sitting around in the cool of the day and watching the birds eating on the porch side table. The landscape and flowers are gorgeous and just add to the peaceful serenity of the mts. Day trips included a visit to the ride though Animal Safari which was fabulous! A must see! Also, the Natural Bridge was an awesome attraction! Both very close by so we didn't have to drive far. The indoor hot tub in the master bedroom was perfect to finish off the day. Just a great place to get away from the business of life and enjoy some relaxing quality time with family. Tom checked in with us and made sure we had everything that we needed. Enjoyed talking with him as he was so friendly and shared some info. about the area with us. All in all, I would highly recommend this cabin if you are looking for a great get a way to make wonderful family memories. Thanks Tom & Faye for sharing your cabin and a small piece of heaven with us. :)

Absolutely lovely, comfortable, peaceful cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Believe me....You will not want to leave! All the comforts are here. Very clean and well maintained! The location is perfect...so close to unbelievable hiking and there are horses to talk to while your drinking morning coffee in your PJ'S . It is a very easy drive to Roanoke, we went to Black Dog Salvage too! Why would anyone stay in a hotel when you could stay here! My dog was welcomed even at Black Dog Salvage and most outdoor restaurants. She was with us at all times and loved the hiking trails on the Blue Ridge parkway! Pit fire, volleyball net, all available. You will not want to leave!! We ignored the negative reviews, because there are always some people who will always try to find something to complain about.......you can be assured this is the place to stay. I would not hesitate to return....the 4of us stayed for the same cost as a hotel. We had great conversation and a yummy carry out dinner from Nico's in Lexington and a glass of wine...perfect! The light show from some kind of lighting bug in the trees was spectacular!! We had never seen that before. Each night we waited till it is really dark and it is quite a show of nature! Thank you for sharing your home with us!
