My mom and her friend, two teachers, went on a trip together, travelling around Puerto Rico during a school vacation. When they discovered Rincon, they fell in love with it and decided to come back with their husbands. The two couples had discovered their perfect Caribbean refuge. The following year, they decided they wanted a place of their own in Rincon. They knew what they wanted and looked for a house on a calm beach but close to everything. They found our other house, which they named Casa Serena, it was in the perfect location. They bought the house, totally gutted it, rebuilt it and spent winters here together. They vacationed at Casa Serena as much as they could and eventually started renting it when they weren't there. When my husband and kids and I went to Rincon for the first time, it was love at first sight! We fell in love with the laid back atmosphere and friendliness of everyone in Rincon. It offered something for everyone; my daughter likes to sunbathe and swim and relax in our garden, my son likes all kinds of water sports, my husband and I like to try all the new restaurants, relax and do some sightseeing. So my mother and I decided to buy the land next to Casa Serena and build a new, larger house. When we built Casa Tamara, it was designed as a rental home from the beginning, but since our extended family loves Rincon so much, we often reserve Casa Tamara or both houses for our own family and friends and have lots of room for everyone. My mother's friend who originally discovered Rincon with my Mom, moved to Rincon permanently when she and her husband retired; they loved Rincon so much that they never wanted to leave.
Nancy Renee purchased this house in 1991
My mom was early to discover Rincon and really found a house in the perfect location. We are on the best beach for swimming and since it is in a residential community, it is not filled with tourists, so most of the time the only people on the beach are the people renting the houses along the beach. It is almost like having a private beach and yet we are close to a supermarket, shops, restaurants and a short walk down the beach from a small family hotel with a beach bar, restaurant and equipment rentals. If you anyone wants to surf, it is a short drive to the surfing beaches.
Besides the best location in Rincon, our homes have other unique advantages. We have a fenced in garden yard, great for children to runaround and play without you being worried that they will run right into the water and also great for sunbathing or reading on our lounge chairs and hammocks. Our homes are not built right up to the houses on both sides, there is a private driveway for off street parking for each rental. AND it is a short walk to Villa Cofresi, with beach bar and restaurant and rentals of kayaks, jet skiis, paddle boards etc. And 3 blocks to the supermarket and a few restaurants and shops. Really the best location.
I hope you & your family have spent the holidays in your lovely home in Rincon. My friends and I truly enjoyed our stay there in November. Your home is very warm & inviting and of course the location is perfect! We absolutely loved your beach and took daily walks along the shore. The sunsets were as spectacular as you had said they would be. The local people, food and coastal areas were all terrific. It was a vacation we will remember for a long time.
Ms.Nancy, thank you again so much for accommodating our last minute booking. The villas were beautiful and clean! The beach was right there in the yard!! Nothing beats having dinner on the patio while watching the sunset! I loved how you had everything that we needed to cook, clean, and entertain. We could not have been more pleased or happy!!Thank you!

Good day! If you are looking for a vacation that offers both the quiet of Caribbean Beaches and Breezes and the amenities of Resorts, look here! I have stayed at both Casa Serena and Casa Tamara (the adjacent property) every year (mostly) for the last 17 years. There are reasons I keep coming back. First, Rincon is a wonderful town, full of friendly people and great food. From the local grocery store to top notch restaurants and bars, this is a great place to vacation for variety of food and drink. The drive from San Juan is beautiful; and takes you along the coast and through authentic Puerto Rico. Having a car is the recommendation as once you are in Rincon the town offers everything from parasailing, jet skies, horseback riding, mountain-top B&Bs, deep Sea Fishing, Snorkeling, Scuba, Whale Watching, massage and more! Also, Jeff Sinclair in Rincon is a massage therapist who will come to the house and give you a massage on the patio or beach!! HERE IS THE BEST PART! On the flip side, if you want quiet and calm, all you have to do is walk out your front door and it is in front of you... The BEACH! You have the best of all worlds! So while your family and/or friends may be off riding scooters around town, you can relax on the beach with your favorite beverage and think of... Mmmmm.... nothing! It has been wonderful working with Nancy and Gladys over the years. Nancy (owner) is very accommodating and checks in with you during your stay to assure your stay is outstanding. Gladys is the super nice, in-town, caretaker (of both you and the house) and is available 24/7 should you have questions or needs. I can not recommend staying at either Casa Tamera or Serena enough. You have excitement or serenity at your fingertips and the choice is yours from day-to-day. Have fun!
Hi Nancy, I wrote this on behalf of my family.
My wife and I recently rented both Casa Serena & both Casa Tamara for a large family getaway. What a treat! Nancy, the owner, was very accessible before and during our vacation and Gladys, the super sweet manager, greeted us at the homes and welcomed my relatives with a wide smile. The property was breath taking! The insides of the houses are very nicely furnished and fully equipped, including cable tv in the living rooms and in 2 of the bedrooms in Casa Tamara, WIFI, barbecues, lots of lounge chairs and plenty of beach towels. The porch is roomy and overlooks the Caribbean with view of beautiful sunsets.
We had a large family BBQ on the lawn, grateful to be away from the city but near to the action. Rincon has several great restaurants, amazing scuba driving, snorkeling right in front of the house, parasailing, and a very nice hotel down the beach for food, a beach bar, dancing and they even rent kayaks and jet skiis. Some of us wanted to explore the island and there were a number of great day trips close enough to Rincon. We definitely plan on returning.
Thank you Nancy & Gladys for all of your warmth and help. My family and I loved it all!

I highly recommend Casa Tamara for a lovely, relaxing, and comfortable stay in Rincon. Located in Stella in the southern part of Rincon, Casa Tamara is ideally situated for guests who enjoy being on a swimming beach during the day, but still want to be close to the delicious restaurants in "town." We stayed in both the upstairs and downstairs apartments, and found them both to be beautifully appointed, immaculately clean, and quite spacious. The sunset view from the upstairs terrace is breathtaking. We enjoyed cocktails from the terrace every evening before heading out to dinner. Nancy, the landlord, was a pleasure to work with - responsive and accommodating - and also a wealth of information on all the fun that Rincon has to offer. We can't wait to go back!
We were in Rincon for a wedding in 2014 and we stayed the week of Thanksgiving in Casa Tamara. About 60 other wedding attendees stayed in various places scattered through the immediate area. By the end of the week, we had learned that we "Hit the Jackpot" with Casa Tamara. Here's why: The property provides direct access to the beach. You simply roll out of bed and a few steps later, you are on the beach. It simply does not get better than that. At night, the surf puts you to sleep. Having never experienced life on a farm, the first morning was definitely a shock when the roosters sang. But this turned out to be part of the charm of the whole place. The property provides secure and level parking, on site laundry equipment, and a remarkably well equipped kitchen. Cooking and meal preparation is a breeze with several grocers, bakeries, and street side vendors selling fresh local produce all providing all the basic necessities. Do not overlook the street vendors preparing rotisserie chicken al carbon! This will be the most delicious thing you will eat and very inexpensive ($8 for a whole chicken). We rarely operated the window AC units but when we did, they performed adequately and as expected providing plenty of comfort. All baths were clean and well appointed. The only thing I would have liked was a good quality Weber Kettle Grill. The one provided is usable but The Weber is the gold standard for charcoal grilling and I really missed it. Nevertheless, we were able to grill delicious skirt steak that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. We enjoyed our stay so much that on our last day we all decided to come back in November 2015. And we did! Nancy was very helpful and so was Gladys. They located someone to prepare delicious traditional "pasteles" for us and these were a big hit too. If you are in Rincon, there is little to be gained by staying anywhere else at any price.
Exceeded expectations. Nancy the owner accommodated our early arrival no problem, that started our vacation on the right note. The house was clean, more than comfortable for our party of 5, provided every possible necessity in the kitchen as well as beach access (towels, beach chairs, noodles, snorkeling equipment, boogie boards, beer cooler, etc) above and beyond our expectations. We were lucky with amazing weather and to have Noche de San Juan during our stay. Having Hotel Viila Cofresi within walking distance was fun and very convenient to go eat and hang out also food markets, and bars were walking distance or short car ride. We come from Florida so AC was absolutely a necessity to sleep but during the day the house was very cool with an amazing beach breeze running through and plenty of windows to make that happen. We bbq in the house, made lots of piña Coladas and had a nice time enjoying our patio and direct beach access. Other town beaches like Los Jobos in Isabela, Boqueron in Cabo Rojo and Guilligans Island in Guanica were amazing and no more than 30 or 1.5 hr drive from the house and so worth it, we also did a zip lining, hiking trip to Utuado and it was a beautiful ride of 1.5 hrs. This part of the island is beautifully green, people are amicable, beaches are beautiful and this house is smack in the middle of it all.
We look forward to returning to this beautiful house and continue exploring many other places we didn't get to see in amazing Rincon.
We left some property behind in our room and contacting Nancy for its return was very easy and non stressful, greatly appreciated.
Thanks again to Nancy and her property manager (can't remember her name) she was very attentive also
Hope to see you again soon

Rincon, a small town on Puerto Rico's unspoiled West Coast, is known for its several MILES of sandy Caribbean beaches, the best big wave surfing anywhere in the Atlantic, terrific fishing, boating, swimming, snorkeling, off-shore scuba diving, whale watching and much more. The area hosts many fine restaurants. El Faro, Rincon's lighthouse offers stunning views of the ocean and is one of two passive whale watching parks in the world.
