Welcome to 7 Palm Desert, a luxurious oasis in the heart of the California desert! Named for the seven majestic palms that dot the gorgeous landscaping of this private retreat, this home is an exquisite hideaway for discriminating guests.
Enjoy desert living at its finest in this stunning Mid-Century residence, which has been completely remodeled with the finest furnishings and amenities to make for a truly pampering stay.
The house offers lots of stylish and comfortable indoor/outdoor living space. There are beautiful stone floors throughout, both indoors and out on the patio and pool deck. A spacious living room (with fireplace, 40' flat screen TV and stereo) adjoins a dining area and open kitchen overlooking the salt water pool. The fully-equipped kitchen has granite counter tops, top of the line appliances and every conceivable convenience.
A huge master bedroom and two sizable guest bedrooms each offer a TV with DVD and VCR. The master bedroom overlooks its own private patio and its bath has double sinks and a rain shower. A guest bath with skylight offers a full shower as well.
Outdoors, the patio blends seamlessly with a large pool deck and a lovely yard - surrounded by a stucco all and trees for complete privacy, and even a grapefruit tree for your fresh-picked enjoyment! Ample areas of both sun and shade make this a great place to spend the entire day, whether in the pool, jacuzzi or napping in the hammock.
Though its privacy is unrivaled, the house is conveniently located just steps from the chic El Paseo shopping district, which has been called the 'Rodeo Drive of the Desert,' with every possible luxury store and a bevy of great restaurants. It is also a quick drive to Shadow Mountain golf course, hiking trails in the surrounding hills and wonderful antique shopping.
Please note that this house is only available for rentals of one week minimum.
We live in Los Angeles but love Palm Desert - its serenity, great year-round weather, and friendly people.
The Owner purchased this house in 2003
Palm Desert, and particularly the El Paseo area, is a great community with easy access to a wide variety of activities, restaurants and shopping.
We love the salt water pool. the indoor/outdoor feel and the privacy of the backyard - also the orange and grapefruit trees for fresh-squeezed juice!
This is the second year my family has spent Christmas in the palm desert area but the first time renting this wonderful house. It was perfect for our two young boys, who swam every day despite the cooler morning temperatures! The location is central, walking distance to El Paseo, short drive to hiking spots, The Living Desert countless restaurants and shopping, all of which we enjoyed! The house itself was spotless, well appointed and nicely decorated. It is definitely a spot we will return to again!!
My wife, small dog, and I rented this fabulous home for two weeks in April. The house, backyard, and pool were everything we expected and more. First, it is a very quiet neighborhood and the house and yard are very private. The pool and pool deck are spectacular. The grapefruit tree was loaded with ripe fruit. The house had every convenience we needed. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfy. Several mornings we'd make the 15 minute walk down to El Paseo to get our Starbuck's coffee. The house is centrally located and within a few minutes drive of everything we needed. An added bonus was two visits from the neighborhood Road Runner. We also kept fresh food in the hummingbird feeder and their visits were non-stop. We've rented several homes over the years in the Palm Springs/Palm Desert area and this one is by far the best. We will be back.
My husband and I stayed at the home for a week in February. The house is modern, comfortable and has a well-equipped kitchen, laundry just off the kitchen, two nice bathrooms and very comfortable beds and bedding. If there was any negative about the house itself, it's that the lighting in the living room could be better for evening reading. Otherwise, we were very pleased. In fact, the cable TV even included NBA League Pass, which for basketball nuts like us, was a real plus!
The grounds are very nice. The yard is well-groomed and has an enormous grapefruit tree from which we were welcome to pick fruit. The pool and spa were great! The pool is large and easy to heat, and we probably spent almost as much time in the pool as in the house.
The location is very convenient--just a short drive or a reasonable walk to all the shops and restaurants of El Paseo. The house is also a 10-minute (if that) drive to the Living Desert. We enjoyed it there, but it you're traveling with children, it's a must-see.
The owner, Michael, and his agent, Diana, were very helpful when we had questions. One very small issue: Check with Diana before you arrive at the house to make sure that you have the correct code for the lock box to get the key. When we arrived, we couldn't get in because the code on our info sheet was wrong. Diana returned our call promptly and gave us the correct code, so it was fine. But it might be a good idea to check--and, if you plan to arrive after dark, bring a little flashlight!
My husband and I spent the month of February living in this fine property in Palm Desert. We found the home to be very clean and comfortable (beds and linen in particular) and the kitchen thoughtfully outfitted with everything we might need. But the best of all for us was the very private saltwater pool and spa sitting in the center of the beautifully landscaped back yard. We loved it! It was simply heavenly bobbing around on a noodle soaking in the mountain views. Two of our adult children and one 10 year old granddaughter visited for a few days and the pool became their 'living room'. It was perfect for us.
We appreciated the location as well. The El Paseo shops and restaurants were very close and our neighborhood gave us plenty of quiet streets for our morning walk. The Living Desert Museum is just down the road and not to be missed. Joshua Tree National Park and the San Jacinto Tramway are well worth a visit. San Diego is a short drive away. But, lets be honest--it's hard to leave the pool.
The owners were within easy phone reach and most attentive and accommodating to our needs and questions. They clearly love their house and wanted their guests to feel the same way. We would definitely return.
We have returned back to Rainy Vancouver after another stay at this amazing little Jewel. I already miss our morning walks to El Paseo for our coffee, it is the perfect distance. It was a little cool being December but the Fireplace is awesome and warmed up the whole cozy house. I love the clean, contemporary feel and the backyard is definitely an Oasis with the citrus trees and the Saltwater pool and spa. I cant wait to make another return to Paradise!!!
This was the first time I had rented a vacation house, what a wonderful experience. The house was spotlessly clean and simple to maintain. The pool was totally private and a refreshing delight for this pacific northwest person!! The location couldn't have been better for window shopping on El Paseo. It was easy to get to The Living Desert, the new art museum and the weekend market. I'd love to make this a yearly vacation destination.
