About Navin Agrawal

I'm a San Francisco resident since 1999 and appreciate the beauty and character of the historical homes of San Francisco.

Navin Agrawal purchased this house in 2006

Why Navin Agrawal chose San Francisco

Live like a true San Franciscan in an 1899 Victorian which is located in one of the most vibrant neighborhoods of San Francisco where you get the local feel, from the creative arts to the array of savory foods from the diverse ethnic restaurants.

What makes this house unique

I love the local feel of the neighborhood. Dolores Park, which is around the corner is a great place to soak in the sun and people watch. A short walk to the Valencia Street corridor and I can find almost any ethnic cuisine to fulfill my palate.

Amazing place to stay

  • 5 of 5

I stayed there with two friends from 9/18/16-9/20/16. The house was beautiful with lots of space. One of my friends even face timed their mother to show off the house. We enjoyed every part especially the backyard. It was nice to sit out there for a few drinks after a long day of walking through SF. With the price we paid, it was a steal. I'd recommend saying there if you want to add the quintessential fancy SF house to go along with your trip.

Amazing appartment

  • 5 of 5

Lovely furnished appartment in the middle of castro which is a very nice neighborhood. I liked the upstairs garden best. Supermarket and street cars within walking distance. Dolores Park right next door with a wonderful view of the city.

Clean secure comfortable spacious stay For family

  • 5 of 5

The location was very handy to public transport allowing 15 minutes to downtown SFan. I travelled with 2 children and felt very safe at the location and the surrounding areas. Very handy to fantastic places to eat and shop for groceries.

The house was spacious and comfortable especially with the central heating

Dishwasher was not working would be the only thing I could note

More lighting In the dining room would have been a bonus

I would totally recommend the house to anyone with a family because it had a functional laundry.

Lovely, Great Location, Recommend

  • 5 of 5

We stayed July 22 - 26, 2016. Very nice accommodations, just like the pictures shown no surprises. Great place to stay, good for family because of the size being a full size home with 2 bathrooms and a yard. If you have a large group get the downstairs too and it would be awesome. No negatives worth mentioning. I would recommend and would stay again if returning to San Francisco. We rented the garage from the neighbor good decision because of the parking its nice to not worry about moving the car, if you have a handicap (one of ours in the party did) placard you only need to move the car on street sweeper day which is Monday morning. Navin will have the contact info for the garage.

Enjoyed the quintessential San Fran experience

  • 4 of 5

The house itself is beautiful and in a great location sandwiched between Castro and Mission district, both of which are in easy walk. The house is beautiful and exactly what you'd hope to get a true San Fran experience. The house would be perfect with some minor creature comfort improvements such as new/better mattresses, repair of some broken window hardware (latches and not staying open, not the glass itself), and maybe a couple ceiling fans as it was warm when we were there. There is no included parking but we rented a spot from a neighbor (which I highly recommend) as the street parking is capped at 2 hours during the day. There is also a metro stop at the end of the street and more that enough places to eat (or just get coffee) within a short walk.

Owner's Response: Hi Rex, Thank you for your 2 night stay. The mattresses are NEW and of the highest quality and brand. You didn't mention if you felt they were too firm or too soft. I normally tend to buy mattresses on the firmer side since doctor's recommend it for a healthier back. Most guests who have stayed here have always said they were the most comfortable beds they have slept in. I guess it is a matter of personal choice. The house was built in 1899 and there is no garage but a nice garden in the front. I chose not to ruin the facade of the 1899 Victorian by adding an unnecessary garage when the home is located a half block from the J-Line Muni. San Francisco is a city where a car is not needed. However, if you do decide to have a car, as you said, there is the option to rent a spot from the neighbor. But I highly recommend not having a car. The windows are original to the house which make them over 115 years old. The bay windows in the living are extremely large and heavy so, no, they do not stay open as modern windows by just pushing them up. That is why there are wooden sticks above the window, so if you decide to open window you can use the stick to keep them open. Ceiling fans are not used in Victorian homes in San Francisco because it is not the south and San Francisco is usually a very cool city year round. There are portable fans for your use however. Again, I appreciate you staying in my home and glad that you enjoyed the neighborhood.
