Our holiday home, built by us in the mid 90's, is situated just 100m waters edge facing looking out over the bay to Tory Channel and Arapawa Island with easy access from the beach/jetty to the house. The house has most things to allow you a peaceful holiday without hassles, with only four other baches in the bay
Access is by boat only, approx 30 minutes from Picton, with a mooring available for use for vessels up to ~7 metres. If you don't have a boat, there are water taxi's available.
A 12ft tin dinghy is available for use for getting between your moored boat and the shore, or for a spot fishing. If you have your own outboard motor under about 10hp you're welcome to use it on the dinghy.
Do as much or as little as you want with bush walks up the hill behind, where views of the North Island and Cook Strait will greet you on a clear day. At night, visit the thousands of glow worms only 1 or 2 minutes walk from the house at the bottom of the waterfall. Or relax on the deck and enjoy the million dollar views with a glass of your favorite drink and a good book watching the Tui's, Fantails, Wekas and Wood Pigeons in the trees around you.
Access those fishing spots out in Tory Channel - Blue Cod, Tarakihi, Gurnard and kahawai regularly caught at the point of the bay. Or for the more adventurous, and only around 15 minutes away, is Cook Straight.
There are 4 bedrooms, 3 upstairs with queen beds 1 room downstairs. There is a bath, shower and separate toilet upstairs, and a shower and separate toilet downstairs. Open plan lounge, dining room, and kitchen with dishwasher. A very safe beach for little ones with sand and shells over most of it.
