We just love to get away to our happy little family home at Whangamata and we're excited to have the opportunity to share it with people like you.
The house itself is really comfortable and sensibly placed at the back of a full section (plenty of room to park and/or play games) so that it is much quieter and more private than others. It also takes full advantage of the open spaces provided by reserve.
It has 4 decent sized rooms including a massive master bedroom.
The lounge and dining area are generously sized and open out onto the deck which is a sun trap and so the perfect place to relax with a wee drink, a book and a pillow for the obligatory shut-eye.
The house has everything that you need to feel like you're at home.
The local beaches include the main beach (monitored by lifeguards in the summer), Otahu River (perfect for families) and the harbour/marina are all within 3 minutes.
Some of the most amazing fishing that the Coromandel has to offer is right on your doorstep here and it's not far to get to wonderful dive sites like the Aldermen Islands or Cathedral Cove.
Town is only a short distance too (we normally walk) and provides everything you need, including a movie theatre, supermarket and all manner of shops and cafes.
The local golf courses include a 9 hole (Williamson) for those wanting a quick and relaxing round or the 18 hole (Titoki) for the more serious golfer. Both are within 2-3 min of home.
If it's a nice bush walk you want, you can wind your way over the Wentworth Valley (around 10 min from home) to the Wentworth Falls or for a swim in the river if you're keen.
If, after all that, you want to explore further, getting around the Coromandel is simple even if the roads are a little windy in parts.
For us, it's the one place that we really do relax and the hardest thing is to drag ourselves out at the end of a weekend.
We hope, wherever you choose to stay, that you have a wonderful and safe holiday.
