A typical kiwi bach situated directly across the road from the white sandy beach of this idyllic little bay, that contains around 20 houses, and is located between Kuaotunu and Matarangi beaches. Sleeps up to 8.
The 2-bedroom bach has been recently renovated and is in excellent condition. It has painted concrete floors with a ranchslider leading out onto a deck and then to the very large open lawn (with a hedge at the front screening the small by-road that runs in front of the beach). This road is very safe with very few cars. The section is unfenced between the neighbouring properties and this area is nicknamed by their Owners as “Tent Town” where they and their families camp during part of the summer. It's HUGE - and perfect for backyard cricket or even a game of rugby!
There are new beds in both bedrooms (including a pocket spring Queen size in each!). A spare mattress is stored under one of the beds for an additional guest. The open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area includes a 3-seater and 2-seater couch, 2x armchairs, coffee table and a bookcase with a selection of books, magazines and games.
There is an impressive 6 speaker surround sound CD and Ipod stereo, including subwoofer, so you can enjoy your music. There is no TV so you may wish to bring your own, although the reception in this area is very poor. There is a modern 6 seat dining suite for family meals.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a standard oven/stove, full sized fridge/freezer plus a smaller drinks fridge, microwave, electric frypan, toaster, electric jug and plenty of crockery, glassware, pots and pans etc.
The beach is a surf beach (east coast, north facing) and depending on the swell can get very good waves at and around low tide. At high tide, the waves break on the shore and is suitable for skim boarding on the sand, or swimming if you prefer no waves.
There is good fishing from the rocks at either end of the beach, or surf-casting at high tide.
Smoking allowed outside only.
Pets allowed with prior approval.
NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave; Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels);
