Stunning Ancient Tuscan 'Podere' in the Very Heart of Tuscany

Bedrooms 5
Space 2,690 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 5 - 7 nights

About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 10)

Stunning ancient Tuscan 'podere' (farmhouse) in the very heart of Tuscany conveniently located within 1 hour motoring of Florence, Siena, Sangimignano, Volterra, sandy beaches.

The owner has devoted a great deal of attention to detail in the sensitive modernization of this large structure, to enhance the original beauty with an eye to the enjoyment of the residents. To this end features such as a huge fireplace and large open plan areas have been maintained to give the whole space a feeling of airy brightness conducive to a sensation of tranquility, an ideal location to recharge ones energy away from the humdrum of daily life. A surprising achievement given that Radicondoli, the local municipality and ancient unspoiled medieval fortress is only 5 minutes away and Belforte, the nearest medieval fortress only 10 minutes on foot!

Radicondoli has no less than five restaurants open all year round. Food can be enjoyed in the setting of the truly breathtaking views, olive groves and vineyards

Colletalli and Radicondoli exude the true essence of that part of Tuscany as yet unspoiled, and not so well known. Their ancient origin so evident in their very structure, with every stone and brick revealing a sequence of caring and sage adaptation through centuries.

Equally around you is the visual beauty of generations of good farmland husbandry. This age long labor, apparently harnessed solely so that you may indulge in a culinary feast. Olive oil, wine, homemade pasta and vegetables aplenty. You can work this out, if you wish, by walking, cycling or horse riding along the meandering tracks and lanes often flanked by the characteristic and poetic Cyprus trees, and always inviting you closer to nature. Away from the commercial trappings of mass tourism, you will be rewarded by sudden and pleasant encounters with a wealth of medieval fortresses, churches and small hamlets which are dotted around the gentle hills and meet people enjoying and willing to share their slow pace of life.

Fabulous holiday accomodation

Review Submitted: December 28, 2010 Date of Stay: March 2010

I would highly recommend this property and will definately be going back. We had a fabulous holiday last March at this beauitiful farmhouse set amongst the hills and countryside with breathtaking views. A car is essential as it is a little remote but that's my idea of a holiday, away from it all with time and room to relax and recharge those batteries. It was so peaceful with ample room for our party of five adults and it was great to feel the warmth of the open log fire after returning for the day. Luana the owner lives closeby and she made us very welcome, nothing was too much trouble.

We will definately be returning, hopefully one summer when I believe a new open air swimming pool is planned.

Highly recommended, a first class property 10/10.

Dream Villa

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Colletalli for a week in July and I can't imagine a more wonderful Tuscan holiday. The villa is perfectly located for day trips to Florence, Siena, Pisa and all the wonderful villages that dot the hillsides. There were 9 of us and we had plenty of room with comfortable beds for all. One thing to be prepared for: there are only 2 bathrooms and 1 is a part of the master suite, so it can be tricky coordinating a lot of people in the mornings! But that didn't present any problems for us and we all felt we had lots of space for privacy or for gatherings, whichever we preferred. The house, rooms and surroundings are, if possible, even more beautiful than the pictures presented here. The pool was big enough for swimming laps and the setting is idyllic. We would recommend this villa confidently to anyone and hope to return ourselves. Luana and Christiano were wonderful hosts. Be sure to save a night for Luana's fabulous restaurant in town - Agriteca.

Classic Tuscan Villa with Wonderful Owners!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for one week and found the house to be just as described with a true, warm "Tuscan" feeling and an amazing view. Luana and Chistiano were wonderful host and always helpful with suggestions of things to do and places to visit. We truly enjoyed our days with visits to the local towns nearby and quite nights at the house with a thunder storm that rolled through one evening that was just incredible! Our teenage boys even put down their electronics for a good portion of the stay to go for hikes and chase the fire flies that appeared every evening! Truely a magical place with warm, welcoming owners. Hope to stay here again!!

A group of friends and I were celebrating turning 30 this year and spent the week based at Colletalli and it was amazing. The pictures don't lie, house is cozy and big (we were only five people, so we each had our own room, which was a nice perk) with beautiful scenery. Sadly the weather was a little too cold for the pool (although one of us did brave a quick dip), but the huge fireplace was a perfect alternative. We spent the days seeing the towns nearby and the evenings curled up by the fire drinking local wine. Luana was an amazing host - she cooked us a delicious dinner and helped recommend someone for a wine tour (Frederico was also fantastic! If you need a wine tour - be sure to get his info). We could not have been happier - the whole trip was a dream and the house was a huge part of that.

Wonderful Farm House

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this wonderful historic farm house in the middle of Tuscany from 20.07. 03.08.2013

Even our 14 Year old son recognized the fantastic countryside – what means a lot as normally he only recognizes computer screens!

The 6 year old boy enjoyed the pool pretty much all day – so it appeared to be challenging for our host to clean the pool in between. Anyway all this happened in a mysterious, pleasant and very kind way!

We adults did find the time to relax. The house is far away from all the hectic places but its close enough to do shopping and go out for dinner at night.

It’s renovated with an incredibly love to detail, we can only recommend this place and will be back.

Delightful, warm and welcoming villa with stunning views!

  • 5 of 5

This is such a beautiful and soulful thoughtfully decorated and just a lovely space to be in! The views are glorious and the area so incredible....we loved having the 4 cats visit (and enjoy the lounge chairs by the pool!) , as well as Uma the dog :-)

Luana and Cristiano are warm and delightful. And the meal Luana and Alex cooked was truly amazing...the food was almost like art, and also SO delicious!

The outside area is beautiful....blooming flowers everywhere, and the sounds of happy birds singing all day!

This is truly a magical place and am so happy we chose to spend 2 lovely weeks here!
