Springfield Farmhouse Rental Photos and Description

Farmhouse, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-5)

A Peaceful Sanctuary is a beautifully renovated 1928 farmhouse located on an acre of land, nestled in a 60 yr old walnut grove. We are a working farm with Alpacas, Cashmere goats and chickens. Since we are a working farm raising and selling chickens it does require us to be here to do farm chores. We will be happy to try to work around your schedule to give you your privacy.

We are conveniently located 1 mile off I-5 exit 195A on the Eugene/Springfield border. Just 4 miles from the Uofo A Peaceful Sanctuary is perfect for traveling nurses being 5 minutes from McKenzie-Willamette and walking distance from Riverbend Hospital. Great for visiting family, business meetings, vacations, Duck Games, Graduations, romantic getaways and as an extended stay.

Come treat yourself to total comfort by sleeping on 650 thread cotton sateen sheets and top of the line queen sized beds, one pillow top and the other firm. Each bedroom has new 28' flat screen TV's with Comcast and Showtime, plus air conditioning. A home office is included for your convenience with a computer and high speed internet as well as wifi. The kitchen is fully equipped as well as a washer and dryer.

Much of the house is decorated by local artists work and antiques. The home with two bedrooms, is minutes from The UofO,The Saturday Market, Autzen Stadium Duck games and The Hult Center. The shuttle bus to Duck games is a block away and is the best way to travel to the game. We are close to a mall, theaters, post office and many restaurants, some walking distance away.

Located in the Willamette Valley, we are only an hour to the coast and the Cascade Mts. We are on the edge of town, with the city on one side and the wilderness on the other. It is not located out in the country we are a working micro-farm in the city. With the city growing most places around town are a short drive. Our farm faces the beautiful Coburg Hills and the crystal clear McKenzie River is a 5 minute walk. Swim and raft the River or take that leisurely stroll and watch the river flow.

Each morning you will receive freshly laid eggs by our hens who are naturally fed and free range as well as organic coffee and tea.

A Peaceful Sanctuary sells naturally fed chickens and eggs. Our hens are fed feed with the main ingredient being peas grown in Oregon with no soy/corn or GMO's.

We have our own laying hens as well as raise chickens for sale. We sell many heritage breeds of extinction, exotic breeds as well as 5 egg a week and green egg layers. On our farm lives Opus and Regalo our Alpacas, 3 goats, Sheila, Rilyn and Westin, a kitty named Merlin and our rescue Chihuahua's Olivia 'Livie', Pepe and Harper.

The farm and animals offer wonderful, heart warming experiences for children and adults a like to carry with them a life time. How could you not fall madly in love with an Alpaca who gives kisses for carrots? Children are always welcome to help me with farm chores, taking care of the animals and collecting the eggs.

If you never have had the experience of being with an Alpaca you are in for a treat. They are the lovers not fighters. Opus and Regalo are sweet, friendly and passive creatures, guaranteed to melt your heart.

Our rates are $125.00 per night. Over 4 guests an additional $10 per night per adult and $5.00 per night per child, plus state/local hotel tax and cleaning fee. The cleaning fee is $50.00 if the house is left as clean as when you arrived and the towels and sheets to be washed are on the back porch upon departure. Basically, just clean up after yourselves. If additional cleaning is needed it is at $25.00 an hr. For our guests with sensitivities please refrain from wearing perfume or cologne when staying at my home. The perfume and cologne permeate the sheets, blankets, pillows and quilts. It’s is very hard to get the smell out. We require a $200 deposit which will be refunded back to you within 24 hrs. Special rates apply for Duck Games, special events, holidays and Graduation. Please inquire about ,dates, pricing and summer rates.

About Pam Basilius

It is my intention in opening my home for rent to offer comfort, bring happiness to people and make magical memories for children they will carry with them for a lifetime. Life is so challenging for many especially now. It is my way of creating a business that is green, brings peace to people and gives back to the community.

Pam Basilius purchased this farmhouse in 2000

Why Pam Basilius chose Oregon

The reason I chose to buy my house in this location was because of the beautiful land, views and very quaint, homey house and walking distance to the McKenzie River. It was a happy home with 11 children being raised here and you can tell there was a lot of love. We are a mile off I-5 and 4 miles drive to downtown Eugene. The feel of out in the country but close to everything.

What makes this farmhouse unique

You and your family get to experience farm life. We are 1928 working farm nestled in an old Walnut grove with very old vegetation and flowers. There are hummingbirds that feed daily and live here year round feed. The birds feed off feeders just a few feet from house. We are a 5 minute walk from the beautiful McKenzie River.

Amazing Charm and unforgettable

  • 5 of 5

This place has amazing charm and left an impression on all of us during our visit. A true century old farmhouse that is true to its roots. The view of the backyard from the living area and dining room makes you think of simpler times and very peaceful. An apple tree, grape vines and beautiful flowers all around the landscape. The alpacas were very cute and friendly. The kids loved feeding the chickens and picking up eggs (they called them chores) every morning. Pam was a great host and has a great personality plus her three dogs were super cute. We had fresh eggs every morning for breakfast! The kids can't wait to go back. The beds were very comfortable and we slept like babies. We left with a lot of memories and pictures.

A peaceful sanctuary indeed!

  • 5 of 5

Pam was a wonderful host and her home was cozy and comfortable. Our 2 younger kids enjoyed meeting all the animals and really liked collecting the eggs each morning. We were visiting family in Eugene and this location was perfect.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind review. I really enjoyed being with all of you and love it when people genuinely have a desire to learn about the animals and bees. The puppies kept running in looking for the kids after you left looking for them. Hope to see you again soon!

A gracious host and a fun property!

  • 5 of 5

Pam is a gracious host, who provided us with everything we needed and was flexible with our changing plans! She was kind enough to show my nieces all the farm animals and how to collect eggs from the hens in the morning. The house has unique and charming character, is located in a quiet neighborhood, and we felt it was easy to get to and from. We would definitely stay again!

Nice, quiet stay on the farm.

  • 5 of 5

In town to visit daughter at UO, and thought I'd try something different than a hotel. Glad I did. Nice and peaceful escape from the business of Eugene, while only minutes away from it all. Would definitely stay here again, and am recommending this place to friends and family.

Peaceful and Relaxed

  • 5 of 5

Truly enjoyed the peaceful and relaxed atmosphere staying at A Peaceful Sanctuary. After staying at hotels for the previous week along the Oregon coast - it was really refreshing to be in a 'home' AND we could look right out the window or walk right off the porch to see the alpacas, goats and chickens. We were able to enjoy the perks of living on a little farm without having to do any of the work! A big highlight was walking along Pam's back fence and picking blackberries right off the bushes and making a cobbler all in the same afternoon. I am not sure when we will be back to the Eugene/Springfield area - but we would definitely choose to stay here again. It isn't meant to be a luxury resort - it is meant to be a home within a community that takes you away from the impersonal treatment you get staying at a traditional 'tourist' venue. Thanks again, Pam!!

We had a wonderful time, our best VRBO experience yet.

  • 5 of 5

This is a functioning micro farm. My daughters loved it here, gathering chicken eggs, feeding the goats, singing with the alpacas and relaxing with three chihuahuas. There's breweries, markets and a wonderful river near by. The house itself is great, plenty of comfort and country charm. Fresh eggs and coffee in the morning a solid wifi signal. We will be back for sure!
