This property is a rare 3/4 acre compound on the beach. Very private, safe and just far enough out of town (half mile) that the stars look close enough to touch...So safe.
Our family of three had an amazing week at Alan and Barbara's beautiful casita. It is a fantastic place to stay for the price. The unit is well furnished, the kitchen complete, the beds very comfortable, the bedding high quality, and the bathroom very nice. Alan and Barbara are lovely people, and we so appreciated all of their useful tips and advice. The pool is amazing, the location is fantastic. We really cannot say enough. Loreto is a very special place, not for everyone, thankfully, but perfect for us and we cannot wait to return
As many guests previous to us we can not say enough about Alan and Barbara's generous hospitality. The accomodations are outstanding, a luxurious casita in a beautiful and private setting. Every effort is made to accommodate your stay and more by an initial tour of Loreto with Alan who also offers to make private arrangements for boat tours, fishing- whatever your interests are. Recommendations for restaurants were offered as well. We ate at Mi Loreto, La Palapa, La Picazon and the pool bar at La Mision. All excellent and served with The Mexican flair to please. DO NOT MISS DRIVING OUT TO LA PICAZON! We are sad to leave, one week is not enough. Loreto is a real jewel, beautiful, safe, quiet. Many outdoor activities are offered or do nothing and sit by your private pool to enjoy the ocean view and the rustling palms. Barbara and Alan will check on you to make sure you are enjoying your stay. We will return!
I hesitate to write this review...my husband & I would prefer to keep this place a secret. However, since we had to leave, others may as well get the opportunity to be completely spoiled too.
Barbara and Alan are the most gracious, kind, fun, enthusiastic hosts we have ever met. Their love for Loreto is contagious. After 14 years living the dream, their knowlegde of the town, restaurants, activities, is second to none. In fact, Alan took us around town in his Polaris Razor 1000 and provided us with many useful tips to start off our time in Loreto.
The Casita is beautiful and well appointed. They provided drinking water, herbs, salt & pepper- along with some unexpected items that were so appreciated. Many times VRBO's don't even have salt & pepper stocked. You'll also find all the pots, pans, glassware, plates, blender (for those margaritas), paper products, foil, wrap, paper towels and napkins were supplied. What a gift!
We opted not to rent a car, as we enjoyed the daily 20-30 min walk into Loreto each day along the beach.
We did a trip over to Magnalena Bay with Noe from Sea & Land Tours. We got up close and personal with the gray whale moms and calves. An unforgettable experience.
One day, Alan arranged for us to have a private panga. We saw blue whales, bottlenose dolphins, the sea lion colony on Isla Coronado, blue-footed boobies. We snorkeled off a lovely beach. Javier, then took us over to the most amazing and scrumptous restaurant called La Picazon. The owners, Amelda & Alejandro, spoiled us with fresh grilled red snapper wraps. I still dream of the delicious meal, our seats looking over the Sea of Cortez, the owners kindness, and the journey to and from in our own panga. I sure didn't want to wake up from this dream.
When we were there, mid March, the mozzies were voracious at sunrise & sunset. But don't worry, Alan & Barbara have the mosquito spray available in your casita. I believe they have thought of everything.
We now feel as though we have a home away from home in Loreto and can't wait to go back to see the sun rise over Isla Carmen.
Take your adventurous spirit and enjoy the astounding beauty that is Loreto. Just know we will be so very envious!

My sister and I spent 4 wonderful nights at this beautiful home right on the water with spectacular views and charming hosts. This 2 bedroom 1 bathroom home is situated behind the main house with all the privacy you would need. The hosts live in the main house closest to the pool. They were so great with advice on not to miss sights and places to eat, as well as setting up private tours for us! They even brought us freshly caught yellow tail! The one bathroom was not an issue because each bedroom has it's own private sink with mirror. The kitchen was very large and had all the amenities. Beds were very comfortable and the bedrooms had amazing views of the water. Just a short drive into town for a grocery store or quaint shops and restaurants. My sister and I agree we would come back and stay here in a heart beat! Having a private pool right on the beach is simply heaven on earth for a much needed vacation.
Our new favorite Mexico destination! I fly for an Airline which travels to several Mexico destinations and Loreto is now my favorite layover spot.
Small town feel but with so many different things to do and see. We even saved several on our list for our next visit. The restaurants recommended by Allen are fabulous. We rented a car and where able to explore the area, which I highly recommend. Our very first night we headed out on a good dirt road, only five miles to La Picazon for dinner. This set the tone for vacation adventure, was so much fun, and worth the short drive. We were blessed to see an amazing moon rise over the water, on a crystal clear evening there. Breathtaking!
La Picazon twice was a must for us and be sure to stop along the way to go shelling on the beach. Coronado Island is full of life and beautiful beaches. Getting picked up right at the house is great and super convenient . We are heading back soon!
Barbara and Allen are such gracious hosts and delightful!!!
Thank you both for sharing your piece of paradise with us.

Hello, fellow travelers.
I do not even know where to start, because my family and I just had one of the best vacations of our lives. We would like this place all to ourselves, but cannot get away more than once or twice a year. This leaves time for the rest of you to enjoy.
Let's start with the beautiful city of Loreto... We have now been to the great country of Mexico, close to 30 times (and ALL over). THIS CITY IS A KEEPER! You will find this quaint little town incredibly lovely, and most welcoming. The food (everywhere) is amazing, and the people are even more so. We really felt welcome, everywhere we went, over our two week stay. Again, this town is special.
Now, on to the accommodations at the Jordan property....
The guest home, is what we would call "world class", and perfect for two couples, or a smaller family. Super clean, and just a great living space, with all the extras laid out for you. But, with the addition of our gracious hosts, it takes it to another level. Within 1 hour of our arrival, we were being shown all around this gem of a town. We instantly felt like family.
Now, it get's better.... I love to fish, and Al totally took care of us. I have fished all over Mexico, and have never had a better experience, on the water (so good, we went TWO times). Barbara, and Al are there if you need anything, from shopping to fishing, to dining and beyond. It was so nice to have local experts, to point us in the right direction.
Back to the property... Wake up to the amazing sunrise, walk past the incredible pool, and you are on the beach. Walk for miles if you like, but you can walk to town and have breakfast, in around 20 min. Come back home, and enjoy the pool and the surrounding gardens, and coutryard. This place is special.
Let's just keep this place between you and I.
Tom, Chantel and April.
See you soon, Barbara and Al
On Google map scroll from the Marina 1/2 mile North on the beach and we are the 2nd to last finished home on the beach.
