Situated on the outskirts of Knockando in the heart of Speyside, Grouse Cottage offers comfortable self-catering accommodation for up to six people. The house was built around 1865 and was originally Knockando Police Station, what is now the bathroom was once the cell!.

Knockando is in an area of Scotland renowned for its outstanding natural beauty, with rolling farmland and heather clad hills rising up from the River Spey.
Speyside is the home of malt whisky and this area forms part of the Whisky Trail with many distilleries on the doorstep. Knockando is home to the Knockando, Tamdhu and Cardhu distilleries and it is only a short drive to other distilleries in the area including Glenfarclas, Glenfiddich and Glenlivet.
The River Spey is renowned for it's fishing while the Speyside way is a popular route for ramblers and there are unlimited options for hiking in the surrounding hills. Mountain bike trails are located nearby within the Cairngorm National Park whilst further afield, the ski town of Aviemore and the beaches of the Moray coast offer excellent opportunities for a day out.
There are plenty of opportunities in the area for a round of golf on the nearby Championship standard Ballindalloch Golf Course. Other courses in the area include Rothes (9 hole course with fantastic views), Elgin (18 hole course) and Dufftown (18 hole course, 2 of its holes (7th and 10th) are featured in “Britain’s 100 Extraordinary Golf Holes” by Geoff Harvey & Vanessa Strowger).
