This home is a charming example of old St. Simons charm. Situated on a quiet street completely shaded by live oaks, you will feel like you have stepped back in time. The home is located at 609 Sea Breeze Drive in St. Simons. We are a short walk to the beach and to the village. Outside, there is a shaded deck area with Adirondack chairs and a gas grill.
Inside, the home is family friendly with a large living room area with sunroom and a stone fireplace (currently not functional for fires). The living room has a TV, DVD, and wireless internet. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking and dining, with a dining area that seats 6 people at the table. Off of the kitchen is a large utility room with a full sized washer and dryer. There are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor. The first bedroom contains a queen sized bed. The second downstairs bedroom has a queen sized bed, a twin bed with an additional twin trundle underneath, and a flat screen TV. The second floor contains the third bedroom with a queen sized bed and private bath and a TV. Note that this is an older cottage, so the second floor ceiling is quite low (6 1/2 feet), so may not be suitable for tall guests.
My husband and I are native Atlantans and currently reside in Dunwoody. I have been coming to the St. Simons area my entire life. My husband fell in love with the area during a visit to St. Simons over New Years Weekend 2000. On an impulse, we purchased our first property on St. Simons during that fateful trip and it was the best decision that we have made. We love visiting the area with our 2 girls and can't wait for the day that we can spend even more time on the coast.
The Owner purchased this house in 2008
Ever since we purchased our first rental property, we have been on the lookout for an actual house as opposed to a townhome. We knew this home was for us when we drove down the shaded street under the arched live oaks - I am so happy to actually have some of these wonderous giants in our yard! We loved the charm of this house with the wood paneling and stone fireplace - the old St. Simons feel.
This is a very quiet street with plenty of privacy. We are close to the beach and the village but away from the crowds.
We had a wonderful 3 weeks in the Seabreeze house! We would love to come back next year. Thanks again!
It was clean and we had everything that we needed. We loved the fenced back yard for our dog . We will return the next time we are in St. Simons!
We're just home from our 5th stay in the bungalow. Seems like home to us now almost as much as our own in central NY. We are booking again next year; wouldn't miss it. Every year we arrive to find some improvements have taken place. The owners provide a comfortable well equipped place and are responsive and helpful if you need them. This is a vintage beach cottage modernized and upgraded. We are attracted to the high beam ceilings and ambiance of the older parts of the house but appreciate the modern HVAC and appointments. Yes the upstairs is not for NBA stars; but we and our guests have been comfortable up there. We appreciate the laundry/store room for bikes , golf clubs, kayak stuff and the fenced back yard for our pup.
In our 70s we walk to the beach in 7 minutes and to the village in 15. If you haven't visited SI before, definitely try Palm Coast for happy hour and food. Also, though opinions vary, we think the best fish sandwich to be found on the island is the grouper at Igwana's. For higher end but great food try Del Sur and GA Sea Grill. Bring your bikes.
This was our second year staying at the "Quaint Bungalow" on Saint Simons Island. We have come to feel very much at home at this house and only wish we could rent it for January and February in 2018! While we were there, a new living room couch was delivered and it is more comfortable than the old couch so just another improvement to this well-equipped rental.
The location is ideal and some days, our car just sits in the driveway as we can walk just about anywhere we want to go.
While not luxurious, my husband and I were very comfortable. Everything worked, and the house was well supplied.
This is the fourth time that me and my wife have stayed at this house. We absolutely love it. If you want to stay in and cook, everything is ready to go, but we prefer to eat all of our meals out and especially enjoy the Wild Georgia Shrimp. The neighborhood is quiet and the live oaks are beautiful. Elissa is great to deal with. We will be repeat customer for a long time to come.
This was our first time on St. Simon's Island and our first Vacation that we decided to bring our dog. We were to stay for 2 weeks but our first week was interrupted by Hurricane Matthew. We really only had a couple of days and the last 2 were searching for dog friendly hotels. We ended up returning to our home in PA on Sunday, after 3 nights in different hotels. What I can say is that this house was perfect for our time there, great walks around the neighborhood and to the beach. The house was comfortable and we had all the things we needed to prepare our meals, even a gas grill. The house had internet, which came in handy! The owner was very helpful prior to our visit and after we had to leave. She is kindly refunding us our rent, and really wanted to help us get back on the Island. I give the Owner 5 stars!!!! We did eat out once, Crabdaddy's, great meal! We are sorry we did not get more time to explore St. Simons's Island.
