My husband and I are retired and we now live in Lille, north of France; we're very happy to have the opportunity to come back in Paris for a few days, and enjoy this magic area which is Saint Germain des Près.
Our children can also spend a few days every year at rue Bonaparte and make sure the apartment is always upgraded.
The Owner purchased this apartment in 2010
We use to live in central Paris, in the 5th, which is walking distance from Saint Germain, and we just love this area.
Pierre, our flat manager who is always aware of "what's going on new" in the area will be pleased to give you his favorite cake in ones of the many patisserie all around (only on rue Bonaparte: LADUREE for macarons and Pierre HERME also for macarons, as he use to be the pastry chef of LADUREE!..
Light LIGHT Bright! Five windows with a sky view, and the sun passing by in the morning: that is also what made up our mind. Location LOCATION! Just cross Boulevard Saint Germain, then have a breakfast at famous Café de Flore, or Café Deux Magots, which is just divine.
The apartment is exactly as seen in the photographs and description. Absolutely sensational location and the view onto the street enhances the stay enormously. I prefer a street view because I like to see out onto Paris and hear the quintessential Paris sounds. No problem at all with noise, even at night with the windows open. I stayed for almost a month so had quite a long time to assess and enjoy the apartment.
Very secure apartment and having an entire floor adds to both privacy and security.
Very comfortable bed, more than enough wardrobe space and the living area is very well set up and comfortable. Shower works very well and the bathroom is well set out. The heated towel rack makes a huge difference during a winter visit. Kitchen is well equipped and works well, although I didn't make much use of it in terms of cooking! Washing machine is a bit temperamental and really ought to be sorted out properly. Heating all works very well and is easy to operate.
The entire apartment was perfectly clean when I arrived with lovely freshly laundered sheets and towels. I'm rather obsessive about things being clean when I'm staying somewhere other than my own home so the cleanliness stood out and I felt immediately comfortable and happy to be there.
Whilst it is quite small, it is perfect for a couple.
Although there is a large sofa bed in the living room it isn't truly comfortable for 2 adults even if only for a few nights. One adult using the sofa bed is ok for a few nights but no longer. Maybe my 2 adult children, who are both quite tall, are spoilt because their only complaints during their short stay with us were about the sofa bed. I don't imagine any sofa bed is actually comfortable for more than a few nights so this one is likely no worse than any other.
The apartment manager is incredibly helpful and thoughtful. He was there on time to greet me, help me with my luggage ( I was on my own at that stage) and show me through. Prior to arrival he had asked me what I would like waiting for me in the refrigerator which I thought was a lovely gesture. Any slight problems with the apartment during my stay were dealt with efficiently and timely.
I was absolutely delighted to stay here, would have loved to have stayed even longer than a month and was very sad to leave. I now think of it as my Paris address and hope to return as soon as I can. Loved every minute.
Very comfortable apartment with air conditioning (which we appreciated since it was warm in Paris during our stay) in a great location in St. Germain. Pierre, who gave us the keys and showed us the apartment, was great. Very friendly and also full of information about restaurants and things to do. The apartment is just steps away from Café de Flore and Les Deux Magots, a short walk to The Louvre, The Tuileries, The Orsay, etc. I would definitely stay here again!
We stayed here almost 4 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed the apartment. It was clean and comfortable and much larger than I anticipated. We were given instructions on how to enter the apartment and obtain the keys by Pierre. He was so nice and easy to talk too. He came and explained the workings of the apartments and we loved the location. We walked everywhere and found many restaurants and shops to explore. The Monoprix was close by and we did any grocery shopping we needed there. We did take advantage of the fresh fruits from the open markets. Tourist attractions were close by. Modern bath, comfortable beds and living area made us feel at home away from home.
We stayed here in August and Pierre and Dominique could not have been more easy to work with. Pierre was also very responsive to emails prior to our visit. He also helped us arrange for airport service upon our arrival which I knew we would want after traveling all day and night and worth the extra money. Pierre also met us at the apt explained everything. The location was perfect and very central and we were able to walk to many places. The metro locations are very close, a pharmacy at the corner, grocery store on the back block and many nice shops in the area to stroll. The apt had 5 full length windows for beautiful light, yet had black out curtains for sleeping in :). The Nespresso machine was a great addition along with the cute dishwasher. The Nespresso shop is on the next block along with a macaroon shop (a must). Loved the bathroom with the double vanities. The AC and elevator were a nice addition. We are hoping to return very soon! Thank you both!!
Great place, unbeatable location, half a block from the church of St Germain; very modern appointments, tastefully furnished, all possible conveniences. Manager very charming and helpful. My wife and I spend a month in Paris every year, renting apartments in different quartiers, and this is the best ever.
The 6th is so central and exciting with shops, restaurants and quick access to the Metro. The apartment is beautiful and well furnished with a comfortable bed. The windows are so very Parisian and added great beauty to our stay. There is a window unit air conditioner (a rarity in Parisian apartments.) It didn't work as well as Americans might expect, but it did help some during the hot and sticky July visit. Our daughter slept on the couch, which she enjoyed. The bathroom is quite small and showering was a bit uncomfortable. Some of the lights and fixtures didn't work very well and the washer/dryer was far more trouble than it was worth. Manger was friendly and responsive. The elevator is tiny, which thrilled our young child, but would be difficult for a person in a wheelchair or other walker device. Even with the few disappointing amenities we would stay here again and recommend it to friends.
