About Rob & Jamie Baker

My family and I have been guests of The Betsie River Lodge as vacationers since 2007. When the opportunity to become owners came to be, we jumped on it! We have 4 children and reside in suburban SE Michigan. Overall our plan is to continue sharing this property with respectful weekend vacationers.

Rob & Jamie Baker purchased this lodge in 2014

Why Rob & Jamie Baker chose Thompsonville

Having family and vacationing in the area prompted our decision to invest into the area. We truly find the mix of rural quiet with close amenities to be right for our family and friends. We love it here!

What makes this lodge unique

We are an active family!! Biking, fishing, hiking, golf, beaches, skiing, snowshoeing and winter activities galore!!

Cute Cabin

  • 4 of 5

The temperature was unusually high which made it a little uncomfortable because there was no a/c. But overall we enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful Location

  • 5 of 5

The property was wonderful. Everything we needed was there for us. The location is quiet and the surroundings are beautiful. The pictures don't even begin to do justice to how beautiful and crystal clear the river is. We had a wonderful time!

Secluded Peacefulness

  • 5 of 5

I was invited to Thompsonville for a Summer wedding with two moderately active people over the age of 80--The Betsy River Lodge was exactly what I needed. There were just 3 steps to get into the Lodge and it was sparkly clean. The two bedrooms on the main level were spacious as were the two bathrooms allowing one guest to get around with his walker. The lower level/walkout basement had beds as well. The hosts have clearly thought out how to make their Lodge accommodating to renters and very graciously accommodated my elderly guests’ special request. You certainly couldn’t ask for a more peaceful environment than the bluff over the Betsy River! Given that the Resort wanted almost $600 per night for a room accessible by elevator and $270 for a 3rd floor walk-up, The Betsy River Lodge is a steal.
