Welcome to Vine Maple House, a pet friendly cabin just outside the southwest entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park. We offer guests luxurious accommodations surrounded by the serenity of the beautiful pacific northwest wilderness. Vine Maple House sleeps four guests, with a king-size log bed in the bedroom, and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. The large, jetted hot tub, just off the back deck will become your new, favorite place to relax. Our master bedroom features a mural of Mount Rainier, painted by the retired park ranger who built the house in 1992.

This cabin is a great place for couples, families, and groups of friends to stay while exploring the Cascade Mountains, Mount Rainier, and Mt. St. Helens. After a long day of hiking, come home to a long soak in a jetted hot tub under a canopy of fir, cedar, and maple trees.

About Tammi Thomas

I grew up on the North side of the Mountain in Enumclaw. I have always enjoyed the outdoors, and try to instill this love of nature in my four kids, 'dragging' them on all manner of outdoor adventures from backpacking to white water rafting. I manage five vacation rental cabins in the Ashford area.. I remodeled my first cabin in 2007, opening for business in 2008. I fell in love with the Ashford area as a teen. The hiking, biking and the wildlife kept me coming back each year, until I could finally purchase a cabin of my own. Currently my teenage boys both work on the cabins as well, helping with the remodel, cleaning, and maintenance. This is a small family business, and we work very hard to make sure our guests enjoy each and every visit to the Mountain.

Tammi Thomas purchased this cabin in 2008

Why Tammi Thomas chose Mount Rainier

Vine Maple House is in a great neighborhood of homes and vacation cabins. It is forested and quiet, with not more than a handful of cars traveling these roads each day. The Nisqually River is a short walk, and you can walk down to the banks and enjoy the beauty of this amazing glacially formed river valley.

What makes this cabin unique

The area that Vine Maple sits in is quiet and serene. Surrounded by large firs, maples, cedars and hemlocks the deer walk undisturbed in this safe place just outside the park gates. You are able to walk easily to the river and explore the raging Nisqually, and that make a stay at Vine Maple House extra special.

Secluded and quiet

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I recently enjoyed a three day stay at Vine Maple, and it was everything we were looking. Secluded, quite and cozy. It was very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals, even a pizza pan. We were able to enjoy a fire in the fireplace and the hot tub was great. We would not hesitate to stay again.

Maple Vine House

Great experience! Right outside the Rainier National Forest. We went up both Saturday and Sunday. Warm and cozy. The stove gets especially hot. Excellent cabin if you want to run around the mountain and have a dog you'd like to bring along for your trip.

Fabulous Dog Friendly Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This is our third stay in this cabin and we have always enjoyed our stays here. The cabin is very clean and nicely decorated. The kitchen is so well equipped, I can't even think of anything that could be needed. The bathroom contains a hairdryer and lots of nice towels. The heater works great and the cabin is nice and snuggy in no time. The hot tub is enjoyable after a day spent snowshoeing. The Wi-Fi connection was excellent inside the cabin. Biscuits, a towel and poop bags are provided for the dog. The cabin is in a very quiet area and the bed is very comfortable, so no problems sleeping. We did have a problem with the entry code that was provided to us this time so we had to drive back into town where we could get cell service and call the owner. She answered right away and provided an alternate code which ended up working. That is the only issue we have had with the cabin. Highly recommend especially for dog owners!

Cute cabin for two or three only

  • 3 of 5

This is a cute cabin with a large bedroom and comfortable king bed. Kitchen and dining table with bench were great. The hot tub was especially nice at the end of the day where we got to sit and watch deer close by.

HOWEVER, the "futon" sleeper in the livingroom is definitely not a queen size (it's a twin plus) and is hard as a rock. We even tried putting blankets and comforters underneath to make it softer. The owners should really invest in a high quality sleeper sofa that can truly sleep two. They do make them. I went home with a

sore back after two nights.

And also be warned that the bedroom has two window sizes openings in to the livingroom, so there is no privacy of any kind. If you have small children that you want to put to bed early, this is a big problem. I'm not sure what the openings are for, but perhaps the owners could invest in shutters to try to close this up!

Would recommend for two only.
