What makes this apartment unique

One block to the river Seine or to Le Louvre. A lot larger than the usual one bedroom apartment.

Really could not have been better!

We just got home from staying in Serge's beautiful apartment the last week of April. There is not enough room here to describe how happy we were with this choice of apartments!!!

- First, The OWNER Serge was a fantastic host... So helpful, and anxious to make our stay wonderful. The first thing I said walking in was that the apt. really was MORE beautiful than the pictures let on.

- The LOCATION was no less than ideal! The Louvre just a block away, Metro station, Louvre-Rivoli, was steps from the front door with easy connections for every destination, Notre Dame only a 15 minute walk, great restaurants (La Petit Maichon-our favorite) and bakeries for breakfast, easy walk to Isle St. Louis. The stairs were a challenge for a couple 50+ year olds, but very doable.

- PEACEFUL - tons of sunlight, beautiful windows, stylishly decorated, so quiet. We loved just relaxing in the living room with cheese and bread watching the news at night. A special widow ledge with plants and birdseed brought beautiful birds to our window. And every convenience has been thoughtfully supplied.

-VALUE - felt like we got such a great apartment for the money.

- SLEEPING - King size bed was very comfortable, with great closets for clothes and gear.

- BATHROOM was really nice, luxury tub was so relaxing, with rainfall shower separate.

- KITCHEN had everything you'd need and more.

Really, the best selling point for us was the owner, Serge, who was a perfect gentleman, and so helpful--such a gracious and conscientious host. We will absolutely recommend this apartment to friends in the future, and would stay here again without question.

my wife and I enjoyed our stay at this apartment. Much better than staying down the street at a hotel ofr much more $$$. We ate out every meal at the many, many, many restaurants within a 10 min walk. Literally next door to the Lourve, the best museum in the world. Wow. Don't stay if 5 flights of stairs are a problem!

We loved this apartment. Very nice. I'd stay again.

What A FIND!!!

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have been privileged to only stay at 4 and 5 star hotels over the past 30 years, but were persuaded to try VRBO by some friends who had a positive experience with renting an apartment instead of another hotel stay. We found what looked to be comfortable apartment in a great location just steps from the Louvre and most other City of Paris attractions, so we took a chance. Can't tell you how glad we are that we did.

Not only is this delightful, spacious apartment charming and extremely well appointed in a location that can't be beat, it comes with an owner/manager who couldn't be more helpful, responsive or considerate of his tenants, who he treats as valued guests.

The owner lives here himself during the winter months and the fact that this is a home and not just a rental shows in the great eclectic style of the apartment and in its upscale finishes and furnishings.

If you want a deluxe experience in a quant super convenient, safe and walkable upscale Paris location, this apartment will surprise and delight even the most seasoned world traveler.

We can't say enough about this fabulous experience except to say we will returning to VRBO for our next vacation plans and only hope to find another apartment the equal to our first VRBO choice.

You won't be disappointed!! Only one cautionary note: the apartment is on the 4th floor of a 5 story building with the ground floor being "0", so if stairs are a problem, this might not be for you.

Comfortable, cozy, romantic, great location!

  • 5 of 5

We just returned from 9 nights in Serge's wonderful apartment in Paris and we were very comfortable and happy there! My husband had been a bit wary of renting an apartment initially, but once we saw it he agreed that it was a great way to go, so much better than a hotel. At the end of a day of walking your feet off it was especially nice to have that big tub for soaking, and with a tankless water heater, there was plenty of hot water. In spite of being on a busy street, it is uncannily quiet in the bedroom...I mean *silent*, which made for great sleeping. In addition to its convenient location, staying here allowed us to experience the charm of an apartment in a gracious, older Parisian building, which really added to the fun. As others have noted, you'll need to be able to climb stairs (87 of 'em...but who's counting ;-) ) but after all the bread and pastries we picked up around the corner, we were glad for the extra exercise! Serge is very friendly and helpful. I'll be recommending this place to friends traveling to Paris. :-)

Lovely space. Unbeatable location.

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I just got back from spending one delightful week in Serge's apartment. Everything was ready for us when we arrived. The apartment was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Everything is comfortable, and nothing is worn out. Many thoughtful details -- coffee, soap, shampoo, guide books, and restaurant recommendations, etc., were provided. Free cable, wi-fi, and international phone calls are a big plus! Serge lives very close by and is friendly and quickly responds to all questions.

The neighborhood has EVERYTHING you could possibly want within just a few steps as well as great Metro service.

The stairs will be very demanding for those in less-than-optimal shape. We didn't have a problem, but people considering renting this property should keep this in mind.

At home in Paris (well, it felt like home!)

  • 5 of 5

My two sisters and I arrived by taxi on a weekday afternoon, and there was Serge, the owner, waiting outside the building to greet us. Our 5 days/nights there were like walking into a book about Paris. The place is not huge, but every inch of space is touched with Parisian charm. While the building is aged, my temporary home :-) was clean and picturesque. Serge brought in a roll-away bed and put it in the living room so the third person could sleep there v. the leather sofa. He warned that daylight that would stream through the large L/R window announcing morning but, actually, it was beautiful yet soft enough not to wake a hard sleeper. (Or, just bring your eye mask.) Morning noise from the street was minimal, although the early opening auto garage near the back side was noisier (still, not unbearable); consider this the hum that makes inner city living what it is. If you're from the States, think typical NYC apartment, with cool/thoughtful amenities: washer (no dryer, but a drying rack), electronic adapters, HOT water, nice bathroom, hair dryer, wifi, free int'l calls (at least that was the case for the U.S.), books on Paris/the culture/language translations/dining recommendations, and - just a phone call away - one of the best/most resourceful hosts ever. Be prepared for the winding staircase which is, I think, 72 steps to the apartment. (Hint: pack light, not like an American tourist.) But, if you get hooked on the divine Nutella and banana crepes from street vendors, each of those steps is a blessing! Wear your walking shoes because from this location you can easily get to great landmarks/shops/cafes/arrondissements within 10-30 minutes. I'd be happy to stay here again!
