Big Bear Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 5)

Welcome to our wonderful cabin in the quiet community of Big Bear City! Our cabin is recent new construction of a classic Big Bear chalet cabin! We NOW have 1,250 sq feet of space for your family to come up and enjoy, when we are not able to! In July 2010 we finished the new en-suite master bath and master suite! We are very excited about this addition to our cabin with a new back deck! This is our second home so we have added many things that the typical 'rental' would not have. WE HAVE CENTRAL HEAT! which most cabins don't have. It's great in the winter!

We find that our cabin is relaxing, and feels just like home. In fact, we have a hard time leaving our cabin, and so will you! We have provided a warm and comfortable place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Big Bear.

Our alpine chalet has 2 bedrooms + a loft, and now, 2 baths! The downstairs master suite with en-suite bath, has a beautiful custom travertine shower, and a granite double-sink custom vanity. Our upstairs bedroom also has a custom Kentucky Queen log bed. Both of our log beds are equipped with Tempur-Pedic mattresses.

The loft has a twin bed and a double futon. All the beds have nice rustic bedding, comforters, and sheets. We feel that using nice bedding makes staying away from home just that more special.

Our kitchen includes everything you need to cook. Brand new Kenmore appliances make everything easy. We have provided most everything (we think) to be able to put together a fantastic meal in the mountains! Please tell us if we have left anything out..........

The counter tops are tumbled marble tile, and the cabinets are custom red oak. The kitchen table has seating for 4. Out the slider door from the kitchen is our backyard with a custom built deck with a nice b-bque with seating and a picnic table, which provides a great place to relax, especially in the summertime when it's gorgeous outside!

The living room is really comfortable with a leather sofa and an over sized chair to sit and enjoy the fireplace or the 37 inch flat screen TV, complete with BluRay DVD player (bring your BluRays) and a Vizio sound bar which will also stream your personal music from any device. We also have a DVD library so feel free to enjoy a movie. Of course we have wireless internet! Our pool table will provide hours of fun after the long day hiking or skiing (it is not regulation size but is still a lot of fun)!

We are 10 minutes (around 7 miles) from Bear Mountain and Snow Summit, so enjoy the quiet and relax while still being close enough to enjoy it all! 5 Minutes from the tubing center in Big Bear City. During the summer, there is hiking, biking, and lake activities to enjoy. This is a year-round area so anytime of year is nice. Please enjoy your stay in our quiet cabin!

Please note: We do NOT rent to singles under 25 unless accompanied by a parent.

also please check out our lovely PALM SPRINGS condo also, just click on ALL OUR RENTAL LISTINGS below!

2 night minimum all year!

Thanks, your hosts and owners, John, Lisa, and Heather!

About Lisa Cherry

Hello there! Heather, Lisa and John (Heather and I are in the picture!) welcome you to our cabin in Big Bear! We just wanted you to know a little more about us. John and I are musicians and own our cabin with our my sister Heather, who lives in TX. We bought our cabin in June 2008, but started looking in February during a really big snow storm! As busy musicians John and I really felt like we needed a getaway for our family in the mountains. Heather and I are skiers and love going to Snow Summit! During March of the 2010 ski-season we both learned how to snowboard, very brave of us.! I think I am still sore! We all love hiking the trails up here and look forward to more wonderful times, winter or summer!

Lisa Cherry purchased this cabin in 2008

Why Lisa Cherry chose Big Bear

We thought the location of our cabin was ideal in a quiet area but close enough to skiing and hiking but away from the party life of Big Bear central. It was perfect for us.

What makes this cabin unique

There are alot of properties around but our cabin is simply put, NEW and one of a kind! We offer all the amenities of a 5 star resort but at a bargain price. You won't find many cabins like ours, especially with all the neat touches that we feel make it just like home, or even better!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Thanks so much for your great review, Linda and Andy! Our cabin speaks for itself when guests return year after year, which we love!Lisa, John, and Heather

Very Nice!

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. I stayed there the past year too. The place is well kept. The only thing I wished it had air conditioning down stairs when we stay during the summer. I had the windows open and it was 80 degrees inside. Maybe if it had a fan for down stairs, it would have been more comfortable. Overall we enjoyed our stay. We also like the location.

Owner's Response: It's been a warm summer even in Big Bear....we appreciate your comment about the addition of AC for downstairs and will try to get something that will work for the future when you stay again! Fortunately it's not usually that warm in the mountains but that is why we put the AC unit in the loft.....thanks again for being loyal guests it means a lot to us! Thanks Lisa

cute and very comfortable house

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented this house over the winter season 2015/2016. It is very clean and well maintained.

All the beds have tempurpedic mattresses and heated mattress pads...OH MY GOSH...HEAVEN!

This makes all the difference since all the hotels and cabins we have been renting for ten years in big bear all have lumpy and uncomfortable beds.

Totally recommend this house for a clean, safe and comfortable stay. The owner is super friendly and very on top of things. We couldn't be happier.

Best Cabin in Big Bear for the Price & Comfort!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and friends visited for a weekend getaway. We were new to the site. Lisa was so prompt with her responses and gave detailed information for the cabin. We had no problems and enjoyed a beautiful, clean, and cozy cabin. The outside of the cabin is adorable and the neighborhood is sweet! We drove about 10 minutes into town and found everything we needed. We plan on returning again soon. The price was affordable. We appreciate their hospitality.

xmas garbage

  • 1 of 5

Booked house for XMas week.

Have 2 well trained dogs that owner agreed were ok with the payment of additional security deposit thru VRBO.

Arrived at house and it was nice. We hung up some xmas lights out front and put up a fake tree in house. We had brought our gifts with us as well for opening xmas.

The house was like detailed in the vrbo listing with the exception of the 2 queen beds. They were rock hard. We could not sleep. I ended up sleeping on the futon upstairs as it was the most comfort. Week went well and we decided that even though we had no problems unless the beds were replaced we would not re book. But then the real shocker came.

Upon returning home, I got an email from owner stating her house keeper was mad because there was excess trash, dog poop and dog hair and she asked us to pay $$ more to her cleaner. I was shocked . As the facts unfolded. The city of big bear has trash issues. We were there for a full week and had xmas gifts. Yes we filled up both cans. Before we left we picked up all of the dog poop and put in garbage cans as well.

Apparently the cleaners husband had to drive the trash to the dump before trash day cause another guest was arriving. He was upset over the poop.

We left the house very clean. There was no vacuum cleaner so we did not vacumm up dog hair. My wife spoke to the owner and explained that we left the house clean etc. the owner insisted we pay $$ if we felt it was due. It wasnt. We spent $$$$ for the week. I own 2 vrbo properties and would never charge an additional garbage fee etc. I did not pay. 2 weeks later the owner sent me another request for the $$

. If you are this cheap over your house keeper who takes care of your house then shame on you.

Will never recommend this house to anyone. Seriously, $$ more for garbage over xmas.

Owner's Response: I'm responding because this is the only review we have had that was less than perfect.......I heard nothing from the guests the whole week and it was only until I asked for additional cleaning fee that I had any response. I rely upon my housecleaner who has been cleaning for me since day 1. This is our vacation home and we take pride in it but we have been burned before by guests who leave it not in good condition so I'm very careful. I am sorry that these guests had issues with our cabin. The vrbo damage ins policy does not cover additional cleaning costs. Next time before you complain make sure the owner knows when it is going not not after....when we have no recourse. Our beds are fairly new so are firm. Trash is out of my control but I understand about Xmas and extra. I let them bring their dog(s) but can't file a claim either for excessive mess of hair etc. We don't usually accept pets for that reason although we have dogs ourselves. I'm sorry guests and owners have different variants about cleanliness. I do my best to keep everyone happy but can't please everyone as much as I try!

Perfect Little Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Our family had a great time! The owner is very responsive and was so easy to work with. Cabin had everything we needed. It was cozy, clean and super cute. If you aren't used to very firm mattresses that can take a little getting used to and I wish we would have brought a few throw blankets for curling up on the couch for our movie nights. Other than that, it was pretty much perfect. Close to town, the kids had a great time at Snow Play. I'm not sure we would be able to book again as my son has severe pet allergies and he definitely reacted on the first night, so we know there has been pets there (although it was so clean we couldn't tell) however if it weren't for that we would go back for sure! Thanks for everything!
