Charming year 'round cottage. Has a fabulous view of Lake Huron and a huge sandy private beach. The house features a multi level deck for gracious Summer living. Originally built in 1901, this renovated 2 story home is situated in the charming village of Lexington, just North of the natural stone harbor (not far from the A&W). Lexington is known for it's Music in the Park Series and Weekend Festivals during the Summer and Fall. the village is just 20 miles North of Port Huron/Fort Gratiot. It is 70 miles North of Metro Detroit, 60 miles East then 20 miles North of Flint.
The house has 3 BR (Q, Q & 2 twins) and a full ceramic bath (with tub) upstairs. There is a den and full ceramic bath (shower only) downstairs, along with the kitchen/living/dining room (all open plan) with spectacular views! Original (?) wood floors. Cooled by the gentle breezes of Lake Huron, the 2 front bedrooms and the living room all have ceiling fans.

Both my husband and I grew up in the Croswell-Lexington area. It is a wonderful place to live and raise a family. We love the Michigan and the Great Lakes. It is a friendly area with small -town charm.
The Owner purchased this cottage in 2006
The quaint village of Lexington is picture-perfect! It has many cute little unique shoppes and some great places to eat. The Music Theater is accoustically perfect and adds a new and interesting dimension with ever changing 'acts'. During the Fall and Summer the village offers Music in the Park along with many festivals (Margaritaville/Bach/Fall Flannel/Christmas Tree Lighting)and Art Fairs on the weekends. There's always something to see and do here. Friendly town.
The cottage is situated RIGHT on the beach. You can experience glorious sunrises--- while laying in bed! Bonfires, BBQ's and bike riding.... the list goes on and on. The cottage has been called 'a Barbie house' (more than once) with it's pastel colors and cottage-like furnishings. It's comfortable and clean. And, even though it's in the village and well-within walking distance to EVERYTHING, it still is quiet and secluded in feel. Perfect for a get away any time of year- the Lake is ever changing!
We had an amazingly awesome time at Huron Lake Cottage!!! It was awesome having the beach practically in the backyard; we went everyday. The views from the rooms were great, especially in the pink room. We watched the moon rise and the sun rise. It was beautiful! The hammock was awesome and fun to lay down in and read a book. We also made a fire every night and had some smores, and they were really good! It was really fun and we all had a great time !!!!!!!!!!
This is a truly lovely cottage/home. It is spacious, airy, well-furnished, and a perfect place to get away with family or friends. You will want to come back, as we have, because you cannot beat the location, the comfort of the sunny and clean home, and the relaxation of the deck, large back yard, and easy access to the beach. It's worth every penny, and you will not regret picking this one!
We had wonderful time. This was our 7th summer and it always feels like home!
The cottage is exactly as represented in the listing and photos. Very clean and well maintained. Within walking distance of a very charming downtown with a variety of shops, a grocery, restaurants, and very friendly people. We were there for a one day bicycle ride organized by bikemich.com. The lake, surrounding countryside were beautiful. We spent a very relaxing week end at a beautiful cottage as well. Well stocked kitchen, outdoor areas for fire, deck sitting, and beach. The owner was very helpful and accommodating re: our needs. We happened to be there on weekend of Civil War re-enactment activities. Lots of fun activities for that also. Would definitely rent this place again and recommend it to anyone.
I initially chose this property because of the location, amenities, and size, and made the final decision to book it based on the multiple reviews that mention how clean and well-maintained it is. When we arrived, we were delighted to find that it was all that was described on the site, and by previous renters, and even more. The home is well-maintained and very clean. It also is charmingly and thoughtfully decorated, bright and sunny, roomy, and just perfect for a summer vacation for our family. The beach was close and easily accessible. The deck is perfect for sitting outdoors all day/evening, and the yard is big enough to play catch, and stretch your legs. Just about everything you need is provided, and the owner was very responsive for any/all questions that we had prior to our arrival. The very close location to the heart of Lexington is convenient, and an easy walk. It was worth every penny, and we definitely will come back!
I loved our week at this cottage in Lexington. We arrived to the sun shining in through the windows facing the lake. What a great view, we sat many mornings drinking coffee and watching the freighters sail by. The cottage is decorated so nice, very relaxing and inviting. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed. We hardly turned on the tv. I slept in the blue room and woke to the sun rise over the lake every morning. The quick walk into town was fun, the kids loved getting ice cream cones, while I ate shortbread from the Irish store in town. We spent a lot of time on the beach. It was perfect, just walk out the back door, down the steps to a beach. The sand was so clean, full of shells , a nice walk to the pier ,and no one really on it till the weekend. The week days we felt like the beach was all ours. My girls swam out to the sand bar and had a blast. The yard is nice. We enjoyed watching all the bunnies. Very relaxing and quiet property. We treasure our week at this great cottage, and look forward to returning soon.
This cottage is beautifully maintained and decorated. We stayed for two nights for a girls' weekend and loved this cottage. The listing very accurately describes the cottage. It was very clean and looked like it was newly renovated. Everything was fresh and clean. Looking forward to going back in the warmer weather to enjoy the water!
