Hidden Paradise Found
Peekaboo ocean view, variety of bird calls, a beautiful stroll to a never ending very private beach, with coconuts to enjoy only gives a small glimpse of an intimate peaceful retreat. Although the house was perfectly appointed with an hibiscus theme, we preferred the wide, wraparound deck for our meals and nightly card games. Our hosts Roy and Lisa provided everything we needed including coconut pudding!
We truly felt at home and among good friends.
This was our 3rd trip to Sekawa and, without a doubt, it has been our most relaxing and enjoyable trip, yet.
Waking up every morning to beautiful birdsong just outside our windows, the delicious home-grown passionfruit smoothies, gorgeous freshly-cut-from-the-garden hibiscus and "Sexy Pink" flowers left just outside our door for us to enjoy, the daily trek down the road for a morning swim and then back up the road again, the fascinating fruit bats flying high through the dusk sky and finally, getting caught up with all the latest movie releases - as great as it all has been, it only pales in comparison with how much we've enjoyed getting to know Lisa, Roy, Vatu, and Siusiu.
We're so thankful for everything and especially for feeling at home and among good friends.
We're already looking forward to our next visit and to staying at Sekawa Beach Cottage again!
My sister and I have visited about 14 of the top snorkeling spots in the World so when I started researching Fiji I want a lot of things; a small house with a kitchen, walking distance to snorkeling, (a place that had excellent reviews); an opportunity to get some exercize. That is exactly what we found at this place, plus excellent hosts that brought us fruit smoothies, fresh pineapple, bananas. Oh, and because we've been to the top snorkel spots we know that AC in your bedroom is key to a good's night sleep. Roy and Lisa also have contacts to take you to a Fiji village and waterfall. You can see pictures of the waterfall in their pictures. If you want to kayak or do other water sports they can arrange that as well. Fiji, what can I say, from shopping at the market in Savusavu to the excellent Taxi service it really is an unbelievable experience.
A Bird Watcher's Paradise!
We were very comfortable at this lovely cottage. We spent a lot of time on the deck, watching the birds. After two weeks, we'd added 17 new species to our life lists.
Roy and Lisa are gracious, friendly hosts, and since they lived on site, they were always available for any help or suggestions they thought we might enjoy.
The trip into town was a twenty to twenty-five minute drive, but taxis are cheap and the scenery is lovely.
Quiet cottage in the forest
Our family enjoyed a relaxing stay at the beautiful cottage. The house was clean and well equipped with everything you need in great condition. Our kids loved the grassy yard especially during the rain, and the gardens were filled with fruit trees and flowers. There are some lovely areas to walk and in every direction was beauty. Lisa and Roy were welcoming, informative and friendly and also respected our privacy. A lovely place to stay.
Located in the rainforest, where you can hear lots of birdsongs in the morning, this beautiful and neatly decorated cottage, offers everything you need. The longstretched beach (which we had all for our own) is just 3 minutes walk away. The owner Roy and Lisa are wonderful, they help you with everything you can imagine. We could use their 2 brandnew single kayaks, bodyboards and snorkeling gear and they have a large collection of DVDs. They can also arrange some activities for you like a tour to a waterfall nearby, a traditional lovo dinner in their garden, an indian cooking lesson... We didn't want to leave this awesome place.
