Apartment A - simply Great!!

  • 5 of 5

We have recently returned from our hols and cannot fault our stay in Appt A! It had everything we needed as a family of four and in our opinion, is one of the best placed apartments on the complex being directly opposite the excellent pool area.

The actual apartment included all that we could ask for and a whole lot more. The complex is situated in an ideal area, a 10 minute stroll to the main street where there are plenty of restaurants to cover everyones tastes. An equal stroll takes you to the wonderful beach on the Mar Menor.

The booking was made very easy by Kim, we made use of the airport transfers and have and will recommend the apartment to all our family and friends!!

All in all - a great holiday location and accommodation.

5 out of 5.

Apartment B

  • 5 of 5

3 of us stayed here in july 2011. The apartment was spacious and clean and we had English TV. The pool is lovely and just a short walk away. Our patio was quiet and away from the main area which was fine for sunbathing etc

The whole area is very pleasant with lots of restaurants, the boardwalk walk is a short walk away and runs beside the beautiful mar menor. Many spanish people holiday here so the place is very Spanish

We hired bikes from a local resident.

All in all a lovely place to go for a relaxing holiday + the weather was gorgeous.

Apartment A

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here as a family with older teenagers & we all agreed that for families, this must be the best apartment on the complex. If you need to, you can easily keep an eye on your children in the pool from the patio or the balcony area in the shade. The patio area is lovely! We went during the first two weeks of the school holidays & altho' the pool was quite busy at times, it was never too crowded or too noisy. It was so warm & as a not particularly confident swimmer, I particularly liked the opportunity to make a dignified entrance down a ramp rather than have to launch myself into the deep end.

The complex is gated & the apartment is incredibly secure with an iron gate & shutter on all patio doors. I don't usually go self catering so don't know if this is standard but it was great to have a full sized fridge freezer and washing machine, and a tv with English programmes so we could keep up with the UK news.

It was very hot when we were there so despite our intentions, we didn't stray very far, apart from a bus trip to Murcia and a boat trip to La Manga (only 4 euros each way but you have to walk to the far end of the beach past Johnny's bar to catch it, don't hang around at the jetty closest to the apartments for an hour like we did, it will never turn up!) We had some lovely meals at the Chang Cheng (?) Chinese restaurant and if you order spirits they just keep pouring until you realise they're waiting for you to say "stop". It's on the main road, past the main restaurant area on the other side of the road. Must put in a good word for the Pasty shop aswell, the breakfasts are amazing and we had a very nice Sunday roast at La Diva. The only negative side of eating out in the main precinct is the flow of people looking for you to pay them for playing their accordian/flute, buy their bangles/ sunglasses/ dvds etc, tho' to be fair they don't persist if you say no thanks quite firmly. I expect this is the same in all resorts.

If you intend to play golf, book at the Golf Factory between Consum and the Arches, it seems to be cheaper than contacting the club directly.

I'd advise bringing a well stocked first aid kit, you can't buy meds in supermarkets. It took us ages to find a pharmacy that sold simple bite/sting cream and it cost 9 euros.

We would definitely come back to this apartment, altho' for me the height of summer is a bit too hot. Thanks Kim, you made it all very easy & Apartment A was even better than we hoped it would be!

Great location with the choice of 3 complex swimming pools but a little quieter. Apartment offers home from home facilities including washing machine, hair dryer and satelite tv. Kim was a great host and arranged the airport transfers. Kevin was waiting for us at the airport so no stress, A short 10 minute walk away is a gorgeous sandy beach with plenty of beach bars and sun beds for rental. Plenty of restaurants closeby offering "menu of the day" at great prices. The Saturday and Tuesday markets are only a 20 minute walk with great bargains especially the shoes. Very flat location ideal for familites or retired people. The beach area is paved and easy for walking. Will be booking again next year. Thoroughly recommended.

Just retunred from a wonderful break in Los Alcazares. From the outset, Kim was more than helpful and accomodating throughout the booking process. The apartment and complex was beautiful and set in a convenient location even if you do not hire a care. The owners also offer a transfer service to and from the airport, and again this all worked out as agreed and their representatives are very friendly and helpful. Overall 5 stars!

Car: not necessary

Los Alcazares is situated in the Murcia region of south-eastern Spain, also known as the Costa Calida. The town sits on the shore of the Mar Menor, a saltwater lagoon separated from the Mediterranean Sea by a 22 kilometre long strip of land called La Manga. For families with small children the clean sandy beach is very safe, with shallow water and little tide. There is also an attractive 7k promenade dotted with numerous beachfront bars. The area has an average of 320 days of sunshine each year. Numerous bars, cafes and restaurants (Spanish, Italian, Chinese, English) provide a wide variety of drinks, meals and entertainment. There is a lively market on Saturday & Tuesday when a variety of bargain goods are available. For golfers there are at least 7 golf courses (4 of international standard) located within a short drive including the popular La Manga Club. The historical Moorish cities of Murcia & Cartagena are easily reached by car and worth a visit for sightseeing and shopping.
