Overview

About the property

Villa d'Or is an elegant historic residence dating from the seventeenth century.

An elegant historic residence dating back to the mid-seventeenth century, situated on a hill overlooking the historic center of Mel (Belluno) in the heart of Valbelluna, ideal for relaxing holidays, meetings or events.

Characterized by the typical structure of the Venetian Villas of the time, with a central building decorated by a beautiful pediment and two side wings with large fireplaces, the building is on three levels and is able to accommodate up to five guests.

The large garden with table and chairs allows you to relax while enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Guests will have access and availability of the entire house, including the living room with open fireplace, dining room, pantry and kitchen for breakfast and meals.

Including all types of comfort the guest can take advantage of a flat screen television, crockery, dishwasher, washing machine.

The ancient village of Mel is the centerpiece of Valbelluna, equidistant from the most famous centers of Feltre and Belluno, has its roots in ancient history and has always been the undisputed protagonist of the cultural life of the valley.

Villa d'Or is located in one of the most characteristic of Mel, namely the village of Marcador, point between the flat countryside along the bed of the Piave and the Alps.

Our seventeenth-century Venetian villa, therefore, stands on a hill overlooking the village center, offering calm, tranquility and a privileged point of view on Valbelluna and the Dolomites.

Easy to reach is a large car park.

The convenient location offers the opportunity to enjoy a short distance of the gentle slopes of the Alpine foothills of the extraordinary beauty of the Dolomites, the Prosecco hills of Lake Santa Croce.

A 30 min is the ski resort of Nevegal and an hour the beautiful and famous ski Dolomiti Superski.

Relaxing and rewarding holiday that exceeded expectations

  • 5 of 5

The views from the house are truly fantastic and the house itself is both spacious and well equipped. The character of the property is visible through the sympathetic restoration and if it was in the U.K. would surely be a contender for "Restoration Man" .

Two of us are keen cyclists and the climbs nearby passo boldo and Pradarego as well as Cima Grappa( 1 hour by car) and the Dolomites (90 mins by car) Pordoi, Sella Campolongo etc...😅? Are both challenging and spectacular

Highlights and day trips in no particular order included

A) Cima Grappa as tourists(not cyclists) really interesting

B) Venice -awesome (but prebook your tickets to st marks to avoid queues)

C) Dolomites festival of music (summer) - unreal

D) Belluno - really relaxing atmosphere for shopping - and eating

E) San Martin de cortezzo

F) sportful factory outlet in fonzano for cyclists

G) Prosecco wine region

H) hours spent relaxing in the garden

You do need a car - we travelled from London and stopped in Germany on the way down and France on the way back. We have been to Tuscany previously and enjoyed it but Veneto is as good if not better and we couldn't recommend both Villa D'Or and the area highly enough.

Wonderful House, host and area.

  • 5 of 5

The villa d'Or is an execellent place for a vacation. We spend a week in july There. We were 3 generations together. The House is very beautiful. Very Nice restored. Execellent view and Nicola is a good and responsible host, answering your mails or texts, and Giving good suggestions for tours and restaurants. We Will suggest a couple of bicycles in the House. It is a good place to bike.

We had a wonderful time There.

Keld Flintø and family. Copenhagen.

A wonderful villa near the mountains

  • 5 of 5

Villa d'Or is beautifully and immaculately restored, with all the modern conveniences but keeping a rustic feel. The view is amazing, perched on top of a hill facing the Dolomites. Nicola has thought of everything, with plenty of brochures of what to do in the area. The kitchen is generously stalked with all those little things, you just have to buy the food. I was presented with fresh flowers upon arrival and they have the best neighbors in the world!

The property has a canopy and table and chairs and also lawn chairs to sit out and enjoy the view. A great place to get away from all the tourist crowds. The town of Mel is small, but that is what makes it charming.

Exceptional in every way!

  • 5 of 5

This villa is absolutely amazing. It is a recently renovated historic villa, that sits up on a hill overlooking the mountains in the distance. The decor is impecable, the house is modern, yet traditional at the same time. Nicola, the owner, is very helpful and incredibly trusting. You'll drink from crystal wine glasses, can select from a wine closet if you so choose, cook in the modern stainless steel kitchen, eat at a dining table that seats 10, sit on one of two leather sofas fronting the fire place, play games available in the closet, read about the dolmites from Nicola's many books, sleep in bedrooms decorated with finely crafted wooden furniture and enjoy the large backyard and the incredible views. The only downside was our weather - it rained the entire time we were there. The wifi also had not yet been installed, but even that didn't dampen my teenagers' view of the house if you can believe that! We just visited the local laundry to dry our clothes and leverage the wifi. There is a grocery very close by, pizza, gelato and many fine restaurants. We had one of our best meals in Italy in town at a restaurant in town recommended by Nicola. Once you get to the house believe me you will not want to leave. Thanks Nicola for a great visit. We definitely hope to return some day!

A beautiful house with a magnificent view on the mountains!

  • 5 of 5

The house was absolutely perfect and clean. Nice furniture, modern kitchen and bathrooms and always cool inside thanks to the thick walls. The owner - Nicola - is very friendly and always ready to help you! A lot of hiking possibilities in the neighbourhood or in the Dolomites (+/- 1 h) and Venice within 1 hour! We loved it!
