We've enjoyed this area so much that our families have been vacationing in the peaceful beauty of Floral City since 1968. So much so, that in the last five years we've acquired these additional properties. We hope you'll enjoy any or all of them as much as our families do.
Busch Gardens is 75 minutes to the southeast. Disney World is 80 minutes to the east. This property is located 75 minutes north of Tampa Airport.

We're a family of five. We purchased four rustic lake front acres in Floral City for family getaways. It's beautiful, tranquil and now something we can share with people from all over the country.

Our families have been vacationing in this beautiful, rustic, secluded neighborhood since 1968. We've acquired several properties since then.
lotus is the ideal RELAXATION STATION. coffee on the rockers overlooking the lake first thing in the morning is one of our favorite places in the entire world. you won't want to leave the three rocking chairs. we have a row boat waiting at all times. there is a bike trail .02 miles from lotus. bikes can be rented .02 miles away. there are many options to set up for a croquet championship. guests have caught fish on our lake.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay here at Lotus Point Lake House. We will definitely be back! Your home is beautiful and perfect for a relaxing vacation on the lake. We're looking for the exact spot of heaven. Can we buy this place? LOL. We hope our extended family will join us next time we come to Florida. Loved spending time on the enclosed porch listening to the sounds of wildlife and watching the cranes swoop over the lake and walk along the shore. Thank you for providing the bikes and rowboat. We biked the Withlacoochee Trail and fished from the boat (and caught fish!) Enjoyed an afternoon at Fort Island Gulf Beach, an afternoon at Rainbow Springs, andn an afternoon at Weekie Wachi. Breakfast at Bagels and more outside of Floral City on the way to Inverness is not to be missed. For visitors reading this entry who are visiting the area for the first time, be sure to see Cooter Pond Park in Inverness for turtles and gators. Also, Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park for the wonderful variety of animals and especially the beautiful manatees.
Thank you, Dudleys, for sharing your home with us.

Once again we had a great stay at Lotus Point. The view from the deck in the morning is so peaceful and quiet. The place was spotless with plenty of room for a family or group of friends to spread out. Really comfortable TV room on one side of the house with the 2 bedrooms on the other side. Kitchen and dining room in the center. 2 bathrooms. Plenty of linens and a washer and drier to save having to pack your entire weekly wardrobe. Dishwasher in the kitchen. Really private spot in a point of land with the only neighbors across a little inlet ensures privacy. If you're looking for peace and quiet this is the place for you. The Dudley's have always been very helpful and accommodating. Great as a central location for exploring Citrus county. Once again my wife expressed how much she'd love to own this little piece of paradise.
This is my second stay at this property but this time I brought my sister and my dog. We all had a wonderful time. The property is spectacular--cozy and comfy and the screened porch is so relaxing. Floral City is delightful, so quaint and friendly. We walked into town on Saturday and it happened to be during Floral City Heritage Dsys so there was a lot going on. Seems like everybody in Floral City are dog people and had to stop to give my dog,Annie, some attention.
I will, for sure, be back and my sister is already talking about coming back with her teengage children. :)
Thank you for letting us stay at your little slice of heaven!
Where to start.. We loved this property. It sits all alone on a couple of acres on a point overlooking the lake. Its so quite and peaceful there with just herons and cranes visiting occasionally. Beautiful trees surround the house and sitting on the back Florida room rocking in the chairs was so relaxing. There's a table and chairs there too if you wanted to dine in the cool evenings. The interior has been nicely remodeled with 2 bedrooms on the right side and the sitting room/ den on the left. Huge kitchen and windows all around for plenty of sunshine. We only saw one other person the entire week so we felt like we were on our own private island. My wife said we should buy the place..if only we could. If you're looking to relax and have the ultimate privacy this is the place for you. You're only 2 minutes from downtown Floral City but it seems as if you are miles from anyone. Ferris Grove fruit stand is only a mile away.We loved it so much we've already booked for next May when we're coming back for our grandsons graduation. We actually rebooked after only 2 days because we wanted to make sure we got it again. The Dudleys were very helpful when we had an issue with an earlier booking and went out of their way to accommodate us . They could not have been nicer.
Had a very quiet and relaxing Fourth of July at Lotus Point. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend this to any friends or family. As other reviewers, we found the house to be warm and inviting, with all of the comforts of home.
Here’s what we liked: Master bed was comfortable, the bedding was warm, soft and clean and there were just the right amount of pillows. The master bath was good... great shower pressure & good plumbing. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need, including basic condiments. The huge island in the kitchen is absolutely wonderful! Great space for food prep.
My only complaint about the house was the abundance of palmetto bugs. As soon as we walked in we found droppings on the counters, the island and the chair rails. I prayed it wasn't mouse poop and was pretty grossed out so I began to wipe the island with disinfectant wipes and quickly realized the island needed to be scrubbed clean, not just wiped clean. When I reached for the sponge in the sink, a huge palmetto bug jumped out of the sponge holder. After killing a couple more palmetto bugs, we came to the conclusion that the droppings were very likely from them and not mice. Thankfully, there was bug spray to save the day. We also found droppings on the bench at the foot of the master bed and under the bathroom sink. I get it, we're on a lake, there are bugs everywhere. But it was just a bad first impression.
All bug issues aside, the property is wonderful. It is nestled on a beautiful piece of land, on a private road and right on the lake. Really breathtaking views of the lake from the back of the house on the screened in porch. The living room has a nice sitting area to read a book or listen to music. The family room is stocked with some old but good board games, a tv, a small library of books and a beautiful fireplace. The wifi is strong enough to stream movies from Netflix but we did experience some buffering issues from time to time. This is expected as we're not in the big city! The dryer, dishwasher and blender were used and all worked fine. The house is a short walk from the Floral City historic district and Rails to Trails bike trail. The nearest convenience store is a 2 minute drive away. The local bar, the Shamrock Inn, had decent food and drinks. A 45 minute drive from Floral City is Dunnellon where you can tube down the Rainbow River. Overall, a wonderful place to get away from it all!
This was my third time at Lotus Point, my mom’s second, and my sister and brother-in-law’s first. Each time I go back, I am compelled to share it with more of my family. The setting is magical: relaxing, comfortable, rejuvenating, and homey. Having a large yard for our small dogs to explore and a dock to get close to the lake are definite plusses.
On our last trip, we wanted to watch a Gator football game that was airing on a channel that was not part of the TV package. I contacted Mary Rachel, leaving a message saying we were willing to pay for the upgrade… just wanted the game. Within 30 minutes, she responded, had already done the upgrade and we easily took care of the transaction details over the phone. Unfortunately, the game was a disaster, yet witnessing it at beautiful Lotus Point somehow made it more palatable.
We all had a fantastic time, and it will definitely not be our last visit. Thank you for sharing your home with us. The beauty of the experience is something that cannot clearly be described and must be experienced!

My girlfriend and I had a rained-out kayaking expedition in the area, but fortunately had booked Lotus Point to rest our bodies at the end of the days. Because of the rain, we ended up our entire time at the Lake House (with the exception of a short excursion to visit little shops in town). It is more than beautiful and we were well-rested from our hectic lives by the end of the second day. The lake is breathtaking and peaceful, and the house is comfortable and clean and more than welcoming. Be sure to hit The Shamrock Restaurant for a dining experience, and also row the lake in the provided boat. Thank you, Mary, for a beautiful stay, and we look forward to doing it again in the near future.
