18th Century Home on 3 acres totally modernized. Commercial kitchen, jacuzzi, steam shower; high-count imported sheets; Central Air Conditioned, 45 foot heated swimming pool. English gardens, rustic barn. Quiet, Idyllic location
My wife and I rented this house for two weeks around the 4th of July and had an amazing time. We have one child (2) and had a few different groups of friends/family stay over the two weeks. There is tons of space to spread out and relax, the gardens are beautiful and the pool is perfect. All in all, not a single complaint. The owners are very easy to deal with and we would definitely stay here again.
The house is ideal for a large party- we were 7. The house itself and the grounds are large enough so it didn't feel at all crowded. The listing is accurate but doesn't reflect the helpful and warm welcome of the owners who have lovingly restored this property over a number of years. The house is well-equipped and maintained with sufficient, good quality kitchen equipment, crockery and utensils. We were particularly grateful for the use of bikes and beach chairs. Westhampton is an easy cycle ride or 5 minutes in a car and Eastport is even nearer. The Old Post House in Westhampton Main Street and Dockers in Quogue were particularly good places to eat.
We had a wonderful family getaway at this Westhampton historic home. The grounds were magical and expansive so that everyone had room to wander and have their corner to read and relax, while others played the provided croquet game, and at night we counted fireflies while chomping down smores. The house is decorated with restraint and deference to the historic roots. It is dotted with some amazing pieces of art and the library has a selection that is eclectic, cool, and serious as to challenge any cosmoplitan intellect.
Martin, our host, was very kind and welcomed us with the basics: great coffee, local baked goods, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The home was well stocked and had a cook's kitchen. We can't say enough about our visit here. The hamlet is a very quiet and private area and yet close to all the great shops and basic amenities. We hope to back again and make it a family tradition.
Our house is in the hamlet of Remsenburg, part of Southhampton Town, adjacent to Westhampton. It provides access to ocean beaches, golf, tennis, canoeing, bicycling, nature walks and fine dining.
