Why The Owner chose North Carolina

The location is wonderful. We are two blocks for the Lilly's Bridge Landing. You can launch your boat there or just take a 5 minute walk to the water. Don't forget the old Lilly's Bridge that was taken out of commission for vehicle traffic that gets used for fishing and just enjoying the beauty of the lake. Walking around the neighborhood is great for the exercise along with seeing the daily water birds and eagles if your lucky. If water is not your thing and horses are. We are ten minutes from the Fork Farm. We meet people from all over the world that enjoy the Fork Farm. Speaking of Animals the Asheboro Zoo is a 40 minute drive. Seagrove Pottery with over a 100 potters is also a 35 minute drive and both of these I can promise are worth the trip.Morrow Mountain Hiking trails are l0 minutes away or one stop closer is the Tillery Tradition Golf course just 5 minutes away for a round of golf. It is easy to see why we think this location is worth the trip and we look forward to being a part of your travels.

What makes this studio unique

We are more a home away from home. The Carriage house has all the comforts of home. The kitchen is fully equipped for those that enjoy dining at home. The living area has a full size sleeper along with a bedroom off the living area. We are looking for guests that want to step up from the motel or hotel lifestyle and still have affordable housing during their travels.

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

I was looking for a long term rental until I could move my family and household items and this was perfect. It was very comfortable, and well kept. One very affordable price included everything including utilities, cable, internet, grill and patio with lounge chair and table, and even a mail box. The yard was moved every week and everything was in perfect condition.

Peaceful Escape

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 10 days while we worked on our home in Mt. Gilead. It was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. We plan another trip to the area in the fall and hope that this little place is still availalbe. Thank you Jeanette for all your help in finding places to eat and shop.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here for 4 months during a travel nursing assignment. Wonderful place in the country. I hated to leave, it was so quiet and peaceful, reminded me of my own home. Could not asked for nicer owners, Jeanette and Jim were the best. Of course I could not leave out the neighborhood cat Oliver. Will definitely stay again.

Owner's Response: Thanks, Jeri for your warm praise. Glad you considered this a home away from home. We try to make our Carriage House warm and inviting. We enjoy having our traveling nurses that take employment in our area for short to long term periods. We hope you will return sometime in your future travels, if not for work for this area that is close to Lake Tillery, Uwharrie Mountains, Fork Farm and over 100 potteries and NC State Zoo. Oliver our neighborhood cat that has won the hearts of all our guests wants your return, too.

Brilliant place to stay

  • 5 of 5

I am a traveling Speech Therapist and have stayed at this location twice for over 3 month durations. Jeanette and Jimmy are wonderful hosts and will help you out anyway they can (directing you to locations or suggesting events in the area). They advised me to take part in the steeple chase equestrian event at Fork Stables, and I am so glad I did. It will be a memory I will cherish.

The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I hope I get another contract in the area because I will rent this place again.

Owner's Response: Andrea, thanks for your kind review. We enjoyed your company and getting to know You was such treat for us. Glad you were able to participate in the Fork events as a volunteer. I, too love that Montgomery County has such incredible facilities in the competition for the Olympic Horses. Promise, your memories are not shared by many. I hope we will see you again with your travels. Please keep in touch.

Perfect place!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I rented the Carriage House for my sons wedding, which was held just a couple miles down the road at Tillery Traditions Country Club, and I am so happy we did! The rest of my family stayed at Fork Stables Lodge which allowed us to be close to them, yet have our own little getaway from the crowd. It was cozy, and quiet and had everything we needed to prepare. Thank you so much Jeanette for your attentiveness! I hope we find a reason to return!!

Owner's Response: Thanks Rose, glad the Carriage House was available for your prep. work for your sons wedding. We have the best of locations, close to the water for skiing and boating, not to mention fishing. The Uwharrie Mountains for those who like to hike. Fork Farms for their special events are a must to see. Golfing and special events, like your sons wedding are amazing when Tillery Tradition is the location. We seem to have it all. I hope you will find a reason to return and not have to work so hard on wedding prep. You and your husband please come back and enjoy all this area has to offer. Thanks again for your comments.

IT WAS MY HOME

  • 5 of 5

I came to this property planning on staying one month, I stayed for four!!!. Jeanette and Jimmy make you feel like family. Actually I think they adopted me. Let's not forget our neighbor Teddy, he's one of kind!!. Enjoyed many evenings just sitting around and sipping a cold one. Of course, Oliver is everyones pet. Long story short, whether you stay for a weekend or weeks. You will love your stay. Don't forget to ask Jeanetter about Thai Spice.

Owner's Response: Thanks Steve for your great review. It made me smile reading your comments. You will be missed by all. Teddy the neighbor and Oliver the neighborhood cat and Jimmy and myself will remember your friendly manner and the great times we shared together. Hope NY is good for you. Wish they had a Thai Spice. They may come close, but even if they got the food right the price will not be the same. Hope to see you again and thanks for being part of our VRBO family.
