This 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath condo is less than a mile to the beach. Enjoy a true island setting among huge live oaks in the best location on the island to anything you want to do. It's a short walk or bike ride (4 free cruiser bikes on your patio) up the sidewalk to the beach at the Old Coast Guard Station (public white powdery sand swimming beach, about 300 yards wide, gets deep very gradually, drive and park in free public parking lot if you don't care to walk). This is also close to Massengale Park, a beachfront public park on Ocean Boulevard with swings, big shade trees, grills, and picnic tables.

Easy To Beach: Property is on Demere Road, St. Simons Island, Georgia 31522. 700 yards to the beach. Walk or bicycle, sidewalk all the way, or drive. There's a beautiful pavilion built 2008 with rest rooms and a staffed bbq restaurant at the Old Coast Guard Station, and about 300 parking spaces, all free. Or, enjoy the pool at the condo (closed in cool weather months, typically opens May 1).

Notes:
A reserved marked parking space is just 25 feet from your door. The entire condo floor and baths are done in 20' porcelain tile, so the whole condo is mopped with pine-sol after each tenant. The only carpet in on stairs for safety. A charcoal grill and wrought iron table and 6 chairs, and 4 bikes, are on your patio. No pets or smoking indoors.

totally thrilled

This was our best vacation yet. My husband and I brought our 4 sons down to stay at this condo for the 1st week of June. It was very comfortable for all of us. everything was so close by. We really enjoyed riding bikes around the island. the best part for me was the beds. They had the nicest most comfortable mattresses, we all slept like logs. The owners were very easy to get in touch with if you had questions regading things to do or places to visit on the island. Best was all of the fishing advice they gave for my son, who could not get enough fishing. I don't think we could ever dream of vacationing anywhere but here.

Happy

We enjoyed the stay very much, everything was very handy and the condo was great. I do not do stairs well but we made out quite well. The patio could use some TLC but nothing major. The beach was quite a bit further away than we thought from your add, but we just drove rather than walk. All in all would make it to be a fine time for the both of us.

Mostly NOT As Advertised - We Got By

The owner is not responsive once the cancellation period has ended. Best part were the beds and the bathrooms. However the kitchen was gross - dirty dishes and other people's food left behind and in cabinets. Some of the linens were stained and the walls were dirty. The "4 Free Bikes" are a rusted pile of scrap - pedals fallen off, flat tires, loose handlebars. Also the location is right across from a noisy airport and real close to a busy road - not exactly a peaceful environment. Overall this property reeks of an absent owner and a poor (if any) cleaning service. My only guess is that all the 5-star reviews must be from 'friends and family'. Next time I'll stick with a timeshare managed by a professional organization like Bluegreen, Hilton Vacation Clubs, Marriott, etc.

Clean & Comfy

This condo was perfect for my husband & I. We had a hotel reservation, but opted for this VRBO instead because of the kitchen. We wanted to cook some of our meals. The place was so comfortable! We had a designated parking spot, a patio with a grill, all the cooking utensils you could need, and it was very clean. It felt so homey-like I was staying at a friend's house. We did have one minor issue with the lightbulb burning out in the kitchen. I sent a text to the owner and she had let the maintenance guy know within 5 minutes of my original text. The beach was super close and there were bikes on the patio to use. This was so nice as the island is very bike-friendly. I am so glad we opted for this condo rather than a hotel. It was the perfect size for my husband and I.

A pleasant place to stay

Overall impressions were very good. My husband and I stayed for 3 nights. There are 2 bedrooms with a total of 4 queen beds upstairs and 1 decent sized bathroom. An overabundance of towels were provided, which is great for a large family. The rooms are good sizes and each have a walk in closet. Extra blankets are provided.

Overall, the place provided everything we needed for our stay. The bed was comfortable enough to get a decent night's sleep.

Complaints/Issues: Noise from traffic (windows are old and noise easily heard inside), sliding screen door doesn't close all of the way, hot water doesn't last long, and the leather couches are old and not terribly comfortable. Also, it took a while to figure out the WiFi and which network to use. Ultimately we figured it out that it was the AT&T network. It was cumbersome figuring it out as the directions provided were vague.

There were 3 TV remotes for 1 TV. Trying to figure that out was a bit of a chore.

We would consider staying here again for our next trip.
