This 100 yr old farmhouse has a huge private yard and is walking distance to town and the beach. Just a short stroll away are the quaint shops on Main Street and the saltwater Oyster Pond and its fine children's beach, as well as the Chatham A's baseball field, tennis, and the bike trail. Just at the end of the street is the Chatham Fish Pier and around the corner is the beach bar and spa of Chatham Bars Inn. Terrific backyard for all kinds of outdoor games, baseball, croquet, bocce, badminton, volleyball, and more. All three full bathrooms were recently renovated, and all the appliances up to date.
We have stayed at this house 4 years in row now and plan to keep coming back annually. Chatham is a great town and this Barcliff house is situated ideally. The house is well maintained and has been updated nicely. We like the privacy and the size of the house and its property. Safe for the kids to run around in the large yard. Love the proximity to the pier, beach, church, Chatham A's and restaurants in town. Easy walk down the quaint streets. The owner is accommodating and easy to deal with.
Our family of 5 greatly enjoyed this 4 bedroom home we rented in Aug. 2009. The fishing pier, beach and town of Chatham were easy walks of 10 - 15 minutes. Both upstairs baths were recently and beautifully remodeled. The home also featured hardwood floors, newer kitchen appliances, washer and dryer, patio w/furniture, beach chairs, large flat panel TV w/Blueray disc player, cable TV and comfortable couches and chairs. We enjoyed morning yoga at the lighthouse beach (30 min. walk), tennis drills at Chatham Bars Inn (15 min. walk) and meals at Impudent Oyster (in town) and Pisces (south Chatham). Marion's Pie Shop was great. We went twice and enjoyed apple pie, cinnamon rolls and muffins. We had a car, however, this home is very walkable for much of Chatham and I noticed CCRTA buses (phone 800-352-7155) running thru town and providing service to Hyannnis, Orleans etc. with connections to more places. Overall, we had a great week and would highly recommend this home and it's location.
This was a great property. It was exactly as advertised, if not better. Location was perfect. Does not advertise on beach, but it was a quick enough walk/drive to water and downtown. Chatham was great area. All house amenities were great including even comfortable beds, which is rare. Kitchen was stocked with cooking supplies and bathrooms filled with towels. This house was shared by two couples and 3 young children and there was plenty of space left. Plenty of outside room also for children to play around the house for younger children who just need some room to run, and there are 3 playgrounds within walking distance. Would also be a great place without children as there are 2 large, queen size bedrooms on separate floors to give groups private space. Large living room and separate reading room. Overall great experience. Strongly recommend.
