2 bedroom condo at Stendahl Village, in a relaxing neighborhood overlooking Dean Pond, next to Popponessett Marketplace (see below). Five minute drive to South Cape Beach. Ten minute drive to Mashpee Commons. Just a half hour from either bridge, half way between Falmouth and Hyannis. Easily accessible to all Cape Cod has to offer!
Living room has picture window overlooking Dean Pond. Eat in kitchen has sliding glass doors to private deck overlooking the pond. Gas grill is located just off the deck. Deck is great for reading and relaxing and outdoor dining.
The kitchen was renovated in 2014/2015 with all new cabinets, granite counter tops, and new stove/oven and sink and faucet.
Master bedroom has queen size bed and the second bedroom also has a brand new queen size bed. Both bedrooms had new carpeting installed for the 2015 rental season. There is also a loft that some use for additional sleeping area.
Great family vacation area. Great for couples also. Awesome beach access on Nantucket Sound at South Cape Beach (5 minute drive) or walk to 'The Spit' in Popponessett. Popponessett Marketplace, right next door, offers a country store, ice cream shop, pizza, The Raw Bar with their famous Lobster Rolls, toy shop, candy store, outdoor concerts and miniature golf. Across the street is the Popponessett Inn, featuring beautiful oceanfront dining.
My family rented houses in Popponessett/New Seabury for a week or two many summers as I was growing up. We vacationed with aunts and cousins and always loved our time at "the cape". When we had our kids, we started renting for a week each summer with my sister and her family. Every summer we would walk around the neighborhood, wishing we had a place of our own here. Eventually we were able to purchase our condo, when our kids were young. We had many wonderful family times here. Since we can't use it all the time, we choose to rent it out and let others enjoy this great spot.
Maureen purchased this condo in 1997
This is such a great location! Very relaxing, away from the congested areas of the cape, but convenient to everything. The beaches are close by and very nice. The marketplace next door is a quaint, fun place to grab a quick bite, be it breakfast, lunch, dinner or just pizza, an ice cream or candy, while being entertained with the evening concerts. Mashpee Commons is just a few minutes away for the bigger shopping trips and nice restaurants. New Seabury has nice walking trails and is a nice area for relaxing bike rides.
If you want to explore other areas of the cape, it's an easy ride to Falmouth, Hyannis, Chatham, etc. Bike riding along the Cape Cod Canal is just a half hour away. The Cape Cod Rail Trail is just a little further. For a day trip, boats to Martha's Vineyard are available within a half hour, from Falmouth, Woods Hole or Hyannis.
For a smaller group, our place is perfect. We have all the charms of New Seabury/Popponsett, at less expense than the houses that surround us. We have continually updated our unit. Visitors find it very comfortable and relaxing, overlooking Dean's Pond and within walking distance of so much.
This is a very nice location and a great unit. Everything is as described in the listing. We spent most of our stay in Falmouth, and it was a short drive to get there from this location. The Marketplace is a two minute walk, and you can find almost everything there (ice cream, souvenirs, food, there is even a nice mini-golf course which is lit up at night). The owners responded very quickly to all e-mails and even provided some nice recommendations. We had a great time, and would choose this spot again without hesitations if we return again to the Cape.
We arrived at the unit and immediately felt at home in this lovely unit. The place is very quiet and peaceful. If anything, the photos don't fully convey just how nice this vacation getaway truly is!
Inside you will find everything you need for a great getaway... a fully appointed kitchen for cooking, and a good stack of info on local dining and entertainment. As mentioned in the description and in another review, the deck is inviting and the view of the pond is captivating, tailor-made for relaxation - I enjoyed my morning coffee there each day. Right outside the door you can head out to go walking on lovely pathways, or just head to the Marketplace for shopping, dining, mini-golf, or just hanging out.
It was a short drive to the South Cape Beach, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Want to go further afield? That's easy enough too, because Mashpee is convenient to both Falmouth and Hyannis - and beyond. Need groceries? That's nearby too, with either a Roche Bros or a Stop and Shop at Mashpee Commons is a short drive away. The Commons also has good shopping and dining options to choose from.
This has to be one of the most fun and relaxing vacations our family has had in years. The owners could not be nicer or more responsive - among the very best we have had via VRBO.. Don't let yourself get overwhelmed with the multitude of rental choices - choose this spot and prepare for happiness, fun, and a great trip to the Cape! We look forward to returning in the future!
When we arrived at the condo we parked the car right next to the entrance under the shady trees. The minute we walked into the house it felt like the house said welcome and make yourself comfortable. We saw all the pictures online and we weren't disappointed, it really is as lovely as the pictures show. Anything we needed we found, for cooking indoors or grilling outdoors, information for local restaurants, beaches, etc. We had a wonderful time we look forward to going again. Anyone looking for a cottage to stay I highly recommend this lovely place.
I have been coming for years, with my husband, friends, or the kids...this place has everything at your finger tips. A stroll to the ocean, dinner at the Pomponesset Inn, or the Marketplace for their famous lobster roll. Not far to catch the boat from Falmouth either to bring your bike over to MV.
This quaint condo is nestled in a private, tucked away area, but close to the marketplace. It overlooks a pond out back and has a nice deck to sit out at. It's filled with whatever you need when you are there, and comfortable sleeping with AC for those hot Summer nights. Just pack your bags and go..
We always have a nice time...
I love spending time here! This is the most relaxing spot. I've been coming here for many years. Unfortunately I can't usually get a whole week away, but come for at least one long weekend per year. This is the perfect getaway. I love to sit out on the deck overlooking the pond and read. Being able to get lobster rolls next door is so convenient. The unit is just the right size for us and always move in condition. The owners are very accomodating.
The place was not clean, a lot of rubbish under the couch, there were live spiders and spider webs everywhere. My husband and I spent 2 hours cleaning the place to feel a bit comfortable, we couldn't wait to come back home. Owner didn't prepare the unit for us and prefers to do the cleaning herself rather than hire a professional to do it. we complained to her and didn't reach out to us after that. I will not recommend this place to anyone.
