Why Chuck and peggi chose Midway

I'm from Savannah, GA. Lived in area 49 years. My daughter and 5 grandchildren along with brother & Sister

live in the area, so i visit frequently, I love the beauty of the river, mossy oak and palm trees. We wanted a place to

vacation, visit family and enjoy everything the rive has to offer. We saw this cottage and it had everything so we

could not turn it down.

Wonderful place!

  • 5 of 5

Great house and location! The river is beautiful and the boat ramp/lift down the road is really nice. Savannah is 30 mins away and Tybee is an hour, we enjoyed visiting both and also took our boat down close to Ossebaw Island. Sunbury Crab Co is an awesome lunch spot to boat to (about an hour boat ride away).

Be prepared for mosquitos and noseeums but you'll encounter them anywhere coastal. The master bed is pretty hard and we found it uncomfortable - may want to bring a mattress topper.

Overall we were very pleased with our stay and would highly reccomend it!

Quiet cottage

  • 4 of 5

We visited in April. My first thought was that it is a little remote. Second thought on entering the cottage was how clean and tidy it was. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pans etc. The view of the river was fabulous and so relaxing just to watch the boats, birds and so on.

If you want to go out to eat, there isn't much close by. Its at least 20 minutes or more to get somewhere. There's a small market in town, but you can get to major stores in Richmond Hill, 20 minutes away. It's fairly easy to use this as a home base and go to St Simons island or Savannah for a day.

The only downside was that we would have lived to sit on the beautiful deck in the evening, but the bugs (no see ums) ate us up. Bring bug spray!

Nice quiet relaxing spot.

The cabin is very comfortable and has an overall peaceful vibe. Everything is very organized and well stocked! I can't think of anything that needs to be added. The owners are extremely helpful and provided information about the area!

The property is amazing and beautiful! You can't help but feel relaxed and calm while looking at the water! It truly is a beautiful place and a wonderful experience! We will be back!

This is a nice cottage with a beautiful view.

  • 4 of 5

It is a little remote but if you don't mind driving it is worth it. The cottage is well supplied with anything you might need for your stay. We had great weather and a full moon in the evening to enjoy. We also did some crabbing from the dock and were rewarded by crabs in the cage and even fish.

Lovely Location & Property

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Richmond Hill over the 5th to 9th November.

The property was immaculately clean when we arrived; the kitchen is well equipped with good quality pots, pans, Pyrex dishes and other utensils, as well as washing and drying machines. The property is light and airy with a solid wood floor which is very easy to keep clean and the large floor to ceiling glass doors open out onto the deck which has a great view of the river.

The location is great as it is on the outer bend of the river and when the tide is out the herons and egrets use the exposed sand bars for fishing. Downstairs there is a shower facility useful for cleaning off any sand before going into the main house.

There is a deck facing the river which has a great view which is perfect for sitting out with a drink watching the sun go down.

Savannah is about a 30 minute drive away and we went over to take a trolley bus ride and visit the railroad museum. Both excursions are worth taking as you get to see a lot of Savannah from the trolley tour and at the museum you can also take part, on the American side, in the re-enactment of the battle of Savannah!

We had a great time at this property and would return to see more of Savannah and the surrounding environment.

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for the first part of our honeymoon. We loved it!! The house was very clean & had all the amenities we needed. Quiet & hidden away in a great location. Beautiful view from the deck!! And we watched dolphins swim by a few times. It was close to Tybee Island & Savannah that we were able to do both. We can't wait to come back with the kids!!
