Our family of six settled in nicely at Hemlock Cottage for a much needed escape to the mountains. We found the home to be spacious and well furnished. We greatly enjoyed sitting by the wood-burning stove as we played games around the table and watched football on TV. We ventured out for a rejuvenating hike along the 2 1/2 mile trail where we had many photo ops among the breath-taking mountain views and also played along the edge of a rushing stream. We found the local restaurants to be quaint and hospitable with delicious menu choices, but most of our meals were prepared and enjoyed at the cottage. The community recreation center, an old dairy, was charmingly decorated and gave us added enjoyment playing pool, getting in a good workout in the fitness room, soaking in the hot tub, and relaxing in the sauna. Our hope as we ventured up to the Bacova area was for our Florida kiddos to have their first snow experience, and on our last evening and morning of our visit, they did just that as snowflakes whirled through the crisp air and settled among the landscape. What a beautiful winter wonderland! Our family looks forward to returning to Bacova to experience other seasons as well. We recommend this home and community to anyone looking to step outside their busy lives and just relax and refresh in the beauty and charm of this special place.
Our stay was great in all ways. From our host to the house itself, we had a great time. Thanks much and we look forward to coming back again.
10/14 to 10/17/16 Great house to enjoy a vacation at. Had everything we needed and more. Great location and the owner was superb. Really enjoyed the porch. Large rooms, great wood burning stove with plenty of firewood. Close to so may beautiful sights. We were there for a wedding so sightseeing was limited but hope to come back for a week in the future. Leaves were beautiful. Other family had the house next door so it was great to all be so close together. Have never been disapointed with HomeAway. Booked several homes through them! We had a fantastic time and the house was perfect. It was beautiful and very clean. We initially planned on going to the Homestead for meals but the house had everything so we ended up cooking a lot and had so much more time with family. Pat was great to work with and helped us navigate finding all the best parts of the area. We highly recommend!
It was a great experience. Home was spacious and convenient for our very large family. Cost mush less than staying at the Omni Resort. Would definitely recommend.
Hemlock cottage was a nice surprise. The countryside with the mountains has breathtaking locations. The overlooks have trees as far as you can see. It is a location, time has forgotten. We hiked up mountains, drove through amazing forests and shopped at antique stores.
The cottage was clean and the bed were comfortable. I love watching birds in the morning. It had all the supplies for cooking and cleaning up day to day messes. Our family had a wonderful time at Natural Bridge. I would stay again.
