Why Mike Lower chose Steamboat Springs

The home is on the high side of the upper loop road in the Tree Haus neighborhood with vacant undeveloped lots on both sides and the Emerald Mountain Wilderness area behind. Tree Haus has a collection of attractive/unique designed single family homes ranging in size from the original 2500+/- SF homes to newer and expanded 5000+SF homes. The area is fairly hilly with winding roads and under ground utilities. Most homes are permanent residences with only a few of the 2nd homes available (when not used by owner/family/friends) for weekly/monthly rental.

The location provides direct access to Emerald Mountain for snowshoeing in winter and hiking in summer. Some of the local elk herd passes below our large deck on their way to/from the river for water.

What makes this cabin unique

We have attempted to create a home that is comfortable for personal use and one that feels like staying at a friends vacation 'cabin' for renters. The area/house/furniture is PET/KID FRIENDLY. The newer kitchen is very well equipped for enjoyable food prep with plenty of space for socializing. We have an 'open pantry' stocked with basics++ to minimize the need for trips to the market. The new master bath with jetted soaking tub, separate multi-head shower and heated stone floor is designed to comfort tired bodies after a hard day on the slopes or trails.

We have priced a little under the market in an effort to attract & retain multi-week repeat renters. Further we encourage owner/renter/local property manager communications in an effort to respond promptly to renter requests and to exceed expectations, thereby further increasing the number of repeat renters that treat the house as if it were their own.

Older home but with charm!

The house is a little older with the furniture dating it and being a little worn. The kitchen and bathrooms are updated and nice. You can tell its a pet friendly house as downstairs does smell a bit like dog, but its well advertised that its pet friendly and to be expected. The owner has provided many additional things for you to use, like sleds, snowshoes, etc and is a nice person with prompt service.

We had a small issue with the cleaning company not having the house cleaned when they were supposed to, but overall, I feel the problems were rectified.

My family said the house felt cozy like an old cabin whereas the friends we had staying with us felt it was a little dated, so take it for what its worth. The views were great of the mountain and it was out of the normal hustle and bustle of the ski resort.

First visit to Tree Haus and Skiing in Steamboat

From start to finish we enjoyed our stay at Tree Haus. Great communication with Mike and the home really fit our family perfectly. Well appointed, roomy and comfortable with all the modern conveniences including a Kurig and a Rice Cooker! Close to the slopes, and downtown in a quite well care for neighborhood. Thanks Mike!

Easy access to downton and ski resort. Large open space, kitchen and dining, very comfortable. Snow shoeing out the back door and up the hill. Hope to return, easy to deal with just walk in and enjoy :)

Great Value!

Living in Denver, we've been going to Steamboat for 35 years and you will not find a better value in all of Steamboat. Kitchen has everything you will need and then some. Bedrooms are large, clean and comfortable and the heated tile floor in the master bath was nice. While not much snow fell by mid December, it didn't matter since the house was cozy with the fireplace, huge deck and lots of windows to see their amazing views. We realized we left our iPod in their dock after returning home and called the owner. He responded immediately and had the property manager retrieve it and we had it in a few days (at no charge!). It's not a coincidence that the ratings on this house are all 5 stars, it is earned from the owner to the property manager to the cleaning crew. They take good care of the property and their guests. This will be our go-to house in Steamboat from now on.

The home is lovely and open and beautiful views. We used to come here when my kids were little and we just did a trip here again and still love it. The house has had quality updates over the years and the host is attentive to what we need. They even have a basket of gloves and goggles to borrow- very thoughtful. We're coming back next year. My wife loved the heated bathroom floors! Thx, peter

Great space, perfect view.

Three couples, 2 babes, 2 dogs (Great Dane and a Lab), and still had room for more! Open living room with lots of room to spread out and chill out. We loved looking at the view of the mountain from living room and deck. The kitchen was big enough for us all to prepare dinners which was equipped with good knives and my favorite, the vitamix for morning smoothies! We will all be back for sure next ski season and probably a summer girls trip before that. The only thing it's missing is a hot tub ;)
