We held a family reunion here with relatives traveling from Florida, Wisconsin, Michigan and Minnesota--this was the PERFECT location for all of us to vacation and reconnect over the the July 4th weekend! The property is described perfectly and was exactly as we had expected--enough beds and room for our large group of 22+. Location is close to shopping and many activities (white water rafting, hiking, golf, etc.) The yard is awesome for lawn games and exploring the wooded areas--the little ones loved catching the fireflies every night! The pool was a blessing during those hot July days and was used every afternoon and the 8+ rocking chairs, bench swing and hammock on the deck were used every morning while enjoying coffee. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a secluded get-a-way (yet 5 minutes to town!) and for any age. Ours ranged from 8 months old to 78 years old. The owners are amazing to work with, thank you Ted and Flo for sharing your amazing house with us!
Our group of 12 had a wonderful stay at the Lodge at Gists Creek. The lodge is spacious, very clean, extremely well-equipped, and has plenty of parking. The lodge is conveniently located and very accessible to Pigeon Forge and Sevierville attractions. Visiting in the winter, we were unable to take advantage of the onsite pool, however, we did enjoy a fire in the fire pit and the kids loved the hot tub. We even did a little fishing in the onsite pond. The lodge was very comfortable and working with the owners was a pleasure. Great rental experience!
We felt this place was as advertised and that the reviews regarding the owner were accurate. Ted was very polite and responsive. It was important to us to rent a place where we would feel like the owner really cared about us having a good experience. After all, our family does not do this sort of thing very often; and who wants to spend thousands of dollars to be disappointed! But I can honestly say we were very pleased with the place. It was very spacious and the front porch and the pool were enjoyed by many. Plenty of firewood was provided and we burned a lot of it in the fire ring outside. The entire lodge was clean when we got there and things were in good working order. It is a great place if you have a lot of kids. Overall, I would certainly recommend this place!
This place is a great vacation spot, plenty to do with fun and relaxation at the pool, close to civilization but not too close. No real problems except the non-working/crappy internet. Yes, to a certain extent you should be off the grid but streaming Pandora, reading emails, planning trips, or googling just anything can make or break a vacation, especially since everyone got one or no cell service at the house so data usage was a no go. After a call to the owner they're response was that it was Satellite internet and can sometimes cut out with "cloud coverage". Not a single person could use it and the owner didn't offer to fix it immediately, they said that they already had the week before. Not a deal breaker but a major oversight by the owner which made a lot of people mad, this day and age internet is cheap and if you say "broadband access" it should be usable. Sorry for the one major gripe, no steaming music the whole time though sucked!
Our family of 17 (ages 2-93) absolutely loved this house! It was so accessible to all of the area attractions, while feeling secluded. The property is beautiful. We loved watching the turkeys everyday. It was a very warm week, and the pool was a godsend! There was plenty of room to play and be loud without bothering anyone. We were thrilled that the house looked just like the pictures. It was gorgeous! Ted and his wife were just so gracious to us. We're already talking about coming back next year. We are originally from that area, and I can't think of another place that I would rather stay.
My precious family of 19 (and growing :-) ) spent the most wonderful long weekend last summer at this grand vacation home in the mountains. It is nestled in a spot that makes you feel like you are out in the country away from everyone but is actually only a few minutes drive from everything! There was so much to keep us all entertained, especially the 8 kiddos all under the age of 5, that we never ventured off the property ...only went grocery shopping and to get takeout occasionally. If you read all of the reviews about the accommodations, I agree with them all! My whole family gives a 5 star thumbs up!!
Centrally located to so many sites and sounds, it will be hard to choose. Visit Dollywood, The Comedy Barn, Titanic, musical shows, fine dining, home cooked dining. The list is endless. Shopping at the Tanger Mall is an all day event. There are also popular restaurants too, Red Lobster, The Olive Garden, and many many more.
