We decided to find a getaway from our busy lives and jobs and we found Nancy Lake Villa! We loved it! It’s an amazing place to call a home away from home. We love the view and the surrounding areas. Thanks so much for sharing your home with us. Thanks and God Bless – we’ll be back!
My family and I had a great time staying at this villa/cabin on Nancy Lake. The area is beautiful and the cabin is perfect for a family our size (4 kids). Everything is in reach of the cabin in terms of driving, but we enjoyed staying in and playing board games. We visited the Eagle Quest Lodge for breakfast and played on the frozen lake. The cabin itself is very well equipped and the recent remodeling of the master bathroom was particularly well done. We met Jim...super nice gentleman and a former Anchorage firefighter. Absolutely recommend a stay...I hope we can return for another visit soon. Almost forgot...we were woken up by one of the biggest quakes Alaska has seen in some time at 0130 on 24 Jan...7.1 on the scale...I can certainly vouch for this well built cabin. And earthquake that size will get your attention… But hey, it is Alaska...what doesn't kill you makes for a great story. :)
The cabin was gorgeous and Jim and the others were more than helpful and welcoming made for an absolutely amazing trip and everything was even better than expected thank yall again we can't wait to come back it was depressing having to leave!
We had a long night and day of traveling to Alaska and were very pleased to reach the Nancy Lake Villa for some serious relaxation. Unfortunately, the Sockeye wildfire approached our area and we had to evacuate at 2AM. This was understandable and totally out of anyone's control. We at least enjoyed a fresh halibut dinner on the deck overlooking the lake and actually watched helicopters and a plane load up with lake water right in front of us. The neighboring caretakers and the owners kept us constantly appraised of the fire and did warn us that we may have to evacuate later. We managed to sleep a bit before having to leave. The Villa is beautiful, well maintained, and everything we would need was there. Subsequently, we agreed with the owners, who refunded most of our rental fee. We would gladly stay here again and recommend it to anyone else. The villa is spacious, and next time, we will get out on the lake!
Had a wondeful experience at the villa. It was stocked with everything needed and then some. Caretaker and owners were very nice and helpful. Would rate it a 5 star, but not private enough for that. Too many people in and around the property for privacy. Will be booking again in the near future!
This villa was wonderful with spectacular views. It was everything as described and more. The caretakers were very nice and help us with places we were interested in seeing. Things we enjoyed were Telkeetna Air Taxi to McKinley with a glacier landing, Hatcher Pass, Kenai National Park boat tour, Portage Glacier, Matanuska Glacier, and many more. Our stay lasted two week and still didn't get to see everything on my list, so I guess we'll have to return someday and when we do would surely stay at this villa again.
We would highly recommend this property to friends and family and those of you reading this

We had an amazing vacation. The villa had everything you need.... tons of spices and basic necessities for cooking. Fully stocked bathrooms, I can't say enough about how the villa is set up. Jim and Theresa were wonderful. Thanks for taking my kids tubing behind your boat! I also own property I rent on VRBO and I highly recommend the Villa at Nancy Lake!
Nancy Lake is a popular state recreation site -- nearby streams and lakes offer some of Alaska's finest Salmon, Trout, and Pike fishing. It is less than 15 minutes from Deshka Landing. The area includes an extensive (foot, canoe, snow machine) trail and waterway system of connected lakes and rivers. There are 100's of miles of trails, some of which connect to the International Iditarod trail (which lead to Nome on the Bering Strait.)
Nancy Lake is a large lake (five miles long), and is perfect for a full spectrum of watersports and winter sports. Hatcher Pass, also nearby, offers scenic vistas, excellent hiking and berry-picking opportunities in summer, and skiing and snowmobiling in winter.
