I am a private owner of this beautiful rental. I manage it on my own which helps keep the rates below the other rentals that are comparable in the area. I take pride on keeping this vacation rental very clean and comfortable.
John Dolbec purchased this apartment in 2014
I thought it was a great idea because we are located in a area where you can walk to the downtown and the Fairgrounds/Paso Robles Event Center and many other venues. Our guest have all loved that we are so close to everything.
Easy parking...I have a fenced in and gated parking lot in the rear of the building for our guest. It's a very quaint rental and very comfortable.
A very nice place to stay! We walked Downtown for lunch which was really good. We drove to Morro Bay and went Wine tasting too! We sat by the window in the evenings with a good book to watch the Sunsets.
Thank you very much!
Two couples traveling to Paso Robles wine country rented A Tree House on Spring for a week. With 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, dining room, laundry & and kitchen, this was the perfect set up for us. We moved right in, and felt at home.
Great place to relax after busy days sightseeing & wine tasting. The owner provided excellent customer service, and the house was immaculate. We love Paso, and can't wait to return!
This house is walking distance to the downtown square and is perfect for a small group!
Property is well kept, cozy and walkable to grocery and restaurants. Enjoyed my stay there.
The rental is above a chiropractic office so no one directly connected. Much bigger than the pictures look, older but clean. Who ever lived here was tall so the cabinets and stove are raised more than normal. My taller gf loved it and at 5'4" it was fine for me. There are tons of windows to capture the breeze when it cools down and a perfect ac system for when it's too hot. We only did breakfast in the rental but watch the toaster cause the bottom of the toast burns before the top toasts, just flip it. Hot water and showers were great and also well placed for tall folks. BEST BEDS! Soft but supportive and plenty of pillows. Never used TV, oven or other amenities. Ceiling fans in every room also keep things comfy. Walking distance to town but beware cause there is the donut shop just a couple buildings down! John was responsive to all our needs. I did 4 just because it is a bit older and newer windows could help with street noise (which does decrease after 11p).
Please beware that the list of amenities cannot be trusted and the owner of the property rudely fought back when asked about specific inaccuracies. For example, the listing and instructions stated that we are "welcome to use the Gas Grill." However, after many attempts to light it, we contacted the owner and he responded, "The grill hasn't worked for a long time. I'm going to remove it when I get help to haul it away." In his next response, he states, "PLEASE REREAD the description and the instructions, I state that I removed the grill a long time ago" (he obviously didn't remove the grill). Once I sent that message with his own instructions pointing out how he clearly stated that there was a grill, he ceased to continue any communication with us. Clearly, this is a deceptive tactic to claim certain amenities in order to entice more people to book. Additionally, although there were pots, pans, utensils, plates, and glasses, you will need to buy cooking oil/spray, salt, pepper, or any kind of other spices, napkins, and dish towels as well. These items were not clearly stated as something they do not provide until after we received the check-in/out instructions following booking the apartment. If we had known ahead of time that nothing would be provided, we would not have booked this location. The couch was extremely old and worn out with almost no cushioning left. The beds were also very old and had indentations from use over many years. While the location was ideal to visit wine country and there was ample parking and space within the living room and bedrooms, the lack of clarity with the amenities as well as the rude, confrontational, and abrasive attitude of the manager made our trip less than desirable. I've booked several rentals around the world through VRBO and other sites and have never had such poor customer service from a property manager. He clearly does not care about the welfare and well-being of his tenants. We do not appreciate a person who cannot honor their word and thus feel it is necessary to warn other VRBOers. We will definitely never book with this location or this manager again and would warn others from booking as well.
We had a wonderful time. It was a wonderful location with an easy 6 block walk to City Park for shopping and restaurants. The house has a great atmosphere, all the amenities you need and is very cozy. The remodeled spa shower was wonderful but I especially loved the bed. It was like sleeping on a cloud!!! Awesome!!! I would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to Paso Robles.
A Tree House on Spring is located halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Visit the local wineries and you will you will find most often the winemakers actually pouring the wine!
