Why Maryfrances Dobron chose Westfield

We purchased this property as a second home away from home. The view from the front porch is breathtaking and the night sky is amazing. You feel like you are in the middle of no where, but close enough to everything you need.

What makes this house unique

Tranquil, amazing night sky, peaceful and cozy.

What a find!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I always wanted to see the PA Grand Canyon and were lucky enough to find this great place so close to the Canyon. Our place was clean and as the description states very cozy with a great view. We visited a lumber museum, a maple sugar production and our favorite restaurant was The Log Cabin Inn. Great trip! Thank you Mary for all your help and brochures and maps😊?

Better than the pictures show

  • 5 of 5

If you want quiet and relaxation, this is the place to go! We had the best of times at this property and there was plenty of room. extremely clean and comfortable, this place has it all. Fire pit in back was an excellent way to end the day. The improved wrap-around deck was very roomy and provided an excellent view of the area. All necessary items available in kitchen and living room. WIFI phone reception was very good. There were no signs of neglect with mostly all new items. We will definitely plan a return stay. One night the temperature dropped to 42 (yes in August!), and unfortunately the heater did not work. The owner had repairman out promptly and offered some refund on the price paid. Owner was exceptionally friendly and was easily contacted and responded quickly. If you like star gazing- this is ideal. have not seen so many stars in decades! Cannot say enough good about property and owner.

Cozy and away from it all

Took my family for a long weekend away, for the forth of july. It was perfect, the house is well kept and stocked. Close enough to everything we wanted, but far enough away. The owners are very pleasant and extremely nice.

A great way to Escape.

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful little cabin, isolated by distance and surrounding trees and foliage. Outside, the cabin has a deck surrounding it on three sides, with a wonderful view of the hills out front. A firepit lies just off the deck, while a grill stands besides the door. At nights, I loved nothing more than sitting besides a roaring firing, under a star filled sky free from light pollution. In addition, while also being close to any number of major trails and parks(like the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon), even the area around the Cabin is worth exploring. Little trails cross the landscape all around, and there are some pretty cools things one can discover.

Inside, one finds that despite the Cabin's modest outward appearance, the inside has a fully armed kitchen with all the plates, silverware and glasses one could ever want. The kitchen, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room all somehow fit within in a way that is not suffocating. Though wifi is nonexistent, and cell service is minimal(calls only really), that's a plus in my mind. I find there are many perks one gains by being cut off from the distractions of social media for a week or two.

Besides the many lakes, rivers and trails in the surrounding region, there are no shortage of museums and shops. If at all interested in honey or other bee products, I recommend one travels to Draper's Apiary for a cool tour and great prices on honey(cheaper than what's found in supermarkets anyway). If you want to eat out, I recommend the Log Cabin Inn. All in all, my family had a great time and would recommend it to anyone.

Total privacy with a beautiful view

  • 5 of 5

This property was wonderful- very private, with an amazing view of the area. The cabin is clean and well-kept, and having two full bathrooms was a nice bonus with six adults and one child. The kitchen provided plenty of space and had all of the items and utensils that we needed to prepare meals. We lucked out with the weather, so we were able to eat every meal outside- either on the back deck with the picnic table, or having breakfast and coffee on the front porch with the view. Sitting around the fire pit is a great place to end the evening, and the star-gazing was fantastic!

I would highly recommend making the short drive to Colton Point State Park for some hiking. The Rim Trail (not to be confused with the West Rim Trail) is a manageable one-mile round trip, with stunning views of the "Pennsylvania Grand Canyon."

Mary was great to work with, and was quick to respond to any inquiries. Thanks so much for the warm hospitality!
