My husband and I stayed at the Casita Cox for 5 days and we loved our time there. The house was so quiet and peaceful and had all the amenities we needed. I loved the well-stocked kitchen and enjoyed quite a bit of cooking while we were there, and Andy loved using the grill every night for yummy fish that we'd pick up from the super mercado in town. (In fact, if there was ANYTHING that I could critique about the place, it would be that the kitchen knives were a little bit dull, but whatever! That's a sign of an excellent home if the critique is on the dull knives. :))
We loved stretching out on the lawn chairs and watching the stars at night. And we LOVED having our own infinity pool.
Thank you to Tim and Edgar for welcoming us and ensuring that we had everything we needed. That was such a wonderful vacation.
We stayed in Casita Cox last year around the same time on the referral of family members. We loved it so much, we chose this same house again this year. It has gated security at the main road, and also a gate at the end of the driveway of the home. The Casita is the smaller home just adjacent to the larger Casa, but proved to be very spacious for us. The home itself is very comfortable, and the views from the private patio and pool are amazing. The guys at Beachfront do a great job of making sure everything is going well throughout the stay, and have excellent recommendations for anything and everything you might want to do or eat. We can't wait to come back to Costa Rica as soon as possible, and we would definitely choose Beachfront once again for our next rental.
Casita cox was not just a house, it was a home. We were 4 adults and this house was a perfect size for us providing privacy due to the floor plan. The view is spectacular. The sound of the howler monkeys in the distance was awesome. The house was exactly as presented on the website. The furniture was very comfortable and the house was spotless. The concierge, Guss, was great, very helpful with information and advice. The grocery store is not far and there are some good restaurants near by. We were very fortunate to have met the owners, Bill and Lee. The nicest people you could meet and also gave us good information and places to eat. We had 2 dinners catered by Rocio's Kitchen. We should have had more dinners with her. The food was delicious, reasonbly priced and Rocia was so entertaining! We can' t wait to return next year.
Casita Cox is just as amazing as the pictures look and is a great place to stay!
Everything was ready even though we had arrived a few hours early and Guss and Tim were both very friendly and helpful for anything we needed.
It's in very secure gated community and close to a small grocery store and restaurants, and beaches.
AC works well inside for anytime of the day, but relaxing in the sun in the pool with the view is the way to go!
We also hope to come back, 1 week went by too quickly!

The Casita Cox was absolutely fantastic. A very spacious cottage with a nice pool and shaded area to sit and relax. Lots of great restaurants in the area and many places to explore. We had Rocio, who will be your private chef, cook us a wonderful Costa Rican meal from her menu selection. The Casita sits on top of a hill overlooking Playa Hermosa and the beach....what a view!!!!
Guss, Tim and Jeff from Beachfront Properties will take real good care of you.
Highly recommended.....we will be back!!!!!!
My husband and I rented this house for a month and it has a great location in a quite neighborhood with a great view. Only thing this house needs house is in need of some repairs and other issues that need to be fixed, before I would rent it again. There was constantly tiny ants or spiders on the kitchen counters which got very old, we sprayed with Raid and still could not get rid of them. The dishwasher didn’t work right, it would get stuck in a cycle, and one day it ran for 10 hours while we were gone. Every time we used the dry the house was humid because the dry vent was clogged. We were told there was wireless internet and there wasn’t and the hard wired internet was down all the time. The main bathroom has double sinks and one the sink stop was stuck closed and the other one we had to keep it pried open with a toothpick so the water would drain. The barbeque had a gas leak so it could not be used. For the amount of money they are charging for this house everything should be in working condition.
Explored by horseback, foot, kayak or SUP, all trails lead to waterfalls, misty crater lakes or jungle-fringed, deserted beaches… Try zip lining, canopy tours, hiking, and surfing. Costa Rica’s adventures are all top notch and are all waiting for you.
Playa Hermosa, Playa Panama, And Playas Del Coco are great places to be based out of. Playa Hermosa has one of the safest and calmest beaches in Costa Rica. In these beach towns, you will find and ample amount of restaurants and sodas plus grocery store’s and a few pharmacies. A soda is a small Costa Rican family run restaurant with fresh home cooked food at reasonable prices.
South of Playas Del Coco there are some wonderful beaches to explore for day trips. Playa Conchal, Playa Flamingo, Playa Portrero, and Playa Dante are favorites. Tamarindo and Playa Grand are about 1.5 hours south. These two beaches are wonderful for surfing.
A bit further afield is the Arenal La Fortuna area. It is about a three hour drive Playa Hermosa. At 5,437 feet, the Arenal Volcano looms large and ominous over the pastured green hillsides that surround its base. Although currently in a resting phase, Arenal remained the country’s most active volcano for the past 43 years.
Simply put, Arenal is striking. It is a picture-perfect volcano which dominates the horizon, while rivers and waterfalls tumble through the rainforest that spreads across its base. To the south, the massive Lake Arenal stands sentry to the Tilarán Mountain Range, whose jagged green spine extends along Costa Rica’s central highlands.
From Arenal you can travel to the cloud forest of Monteverde – a nature lover's paradise. The town of Monteverde is fairly small with shopping and some great restaurants Enjoy a nature hike in the Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve then opt to visit a butterfly garden, zipline through the canopy, or go horseback riding.
Take advantage from our local concierge’s knowledge of the country and come soak up the sun. What are you waiting for?
