About the Cabin:
Welcome to my home away from home. Unlike, perhaps, some other rental properties, this is my home that I rent when I cannot get away. Beautiful, completely restored cabin in the heart of the Eagle Creek Valley, four or so miles from downtown Leavenworth, the cabin was just remodeled in the fall of ’13 and as I remodeled and furnished my goal was to create a W hotel vibe (if the W hotel was in the cabin business). We just did a massive spring clean and makeover. Brand new grill and other amenities. Enjoy!
We are a dog friendly cabin. Typically a 2 dog maximum. We are allergic to cats.
Top of the line furnishings and state of the art electronics (flat screen tvs, ipod compatible cd player, etc.) throughout. The cabin is cozy while being large enough to accommodate approximately 8 guests. There is a large master bedroom with a King Size bed and a loft upstairs that has a new bedroom upstairs with a queen bed and a King and Queen bed in the outer loft area (see pics).
We have an outsized hot tub that fits about 5 or 6 people comfortably.
We have a wood burning fireplace and an outdoor fire pit which is beautiful to look at while sitting out in the hot tub under the stars.
Please take some time to read our guest comments. Your supreme comfort is our goal. We’ve made every effort to create a warm, cozy environment. We’ve purchased very nice things to include higher end sheets and bedding.
The cabin sits on 9 mountainous acres, if you are daring and in very good shape you can attempt the hiking scramble behind the house. It is quite steep, not so much that you need rope but close. The hike takes about an hour round trip and takes you to one of the higher points in the area, from the top you can see all the way to Steven's Pass. Not for the highly inexperienced and please climb at your own risk. We do not own the field in front of the cabin but it surely is nice to look out on and definitely creates a lot of separation between myself and the neighbors making the cabin very private and quiet. I want to be clear again that the cabin sits on 9 mountainous acres. The house sits up on the side of a hill which does create some fantastic views, it also means the driveway is a little bit steep and there are about 15-20 stairs that take you from the driveway to the front door.
Just about everything you need you will find here, without exception the guests who have stayed thus far have all stated that this cabin had exceeded their expectations.
We know you have choices when you stay in Leavenworth and we thank you for staying with us!
**Prices are not always perfectly up to date. Although we try to keep prices updated there may be times when an inquiry is submitted where we need to come back with a counteroffer because we have not yet updated rates for a certain period. Holiday rates, which are not always the easiest to put onto the system are usually in the 350-399 a night range not counting fees and taxes.
*** An additional word to the wise. The water from the well is delicious and high in nutrients and minerals. The water coming from the cold tap smells and tastes great. The water, however, when it's in the hot water tank for a period of time can take on a sulfur smell. The sulfur smell usually goes away in a day or so but sometimes can linger longer and it really only is noticeable while showering or washing dishes. I do know this, when I wash my hair at the cabin it comes out very shiny, thick and manageable, so maybe the sulfur and minerals are good for you?? :) Thanks!
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations received 6 months prior to booking will receive a full refund, cancellations received after 6 months but prior to 3 months will receive a one year credit to use the funds, cancellations made within three months of your reservation will not receive a refund. Please book this property with those stipulations in mind.
*** Important note regarding cancellations. We strive to never have to cancel a reservation on someone. We know what it is like to book a trip and to be excited about that trip and how difficult it is to herd all the cats together to go on a trip. We would never want to cancel your reservation just prior to your stay or even months prior to your stay. We know that Leavenworth fills up at critical times of the year and that rebooking your trip might not even be possible in those cases. Therefore we ask that before you press the button to book this trip that you are absolutely sure that you can make the trip. Cancellations are very challenging for us as we have just two pieces of inventory. Getting them rebooked is not as easy as you would think.
Therefore cancellations made prior to the 6 month period will be charged a fee of $150.00 for rebooking.
We typically do not have cancellations after the 6 month mark and we will look at each request on a case by case basis but cancellations after the 6 month mark, if honored (which is again rare), will be charged a $300.00 rebooking fee.
Just like with the airlines this is a nonrefundable ticket after a certain amount of time has passed. Just as the airline reserves you a seat which doesn't allow others to book it is the same thing with these properties. So please book your stay with that conscientiousness in mind. We thank you so much!
I have had many jobs and many experiences in life that led me to being a really great candidate to own and operate a vacation rental. I've landscaped, painted, done interior design, worked in the hotel industry, the customer service industry, I'm a published author and I've actually written a book about the process of finding, buying, renovating and marketing this particular property. It was a very enjoyable process. I've also worked my whole life to get to a point where I could do something like this. I grew up in Chicago and spent all my summers as a kid at my grandfather's cabin on the boundary water canoe areas of Minnesota and Canada. When he died in the early eighties the cabin was sold so that the proceeds could be split up evenly between the beneficiaries of the estate. I was severely bummed when that occured as I had had some of the best moments of my life up at that cabin. It was my dream ever since then to be able to do the same thing someday and now I have. I hope that you create memories with your family like I had created with mine as a youngster. In fact I hope to continue to create more memories here as well. I appreciate you choosing to stay here if that turns out to be the case.
kelly kortman, owner purchased this cabin in 2007
I purchased this cabin, as fate would have it, at the top of the real estate market in 2007 then went about completely remodeling it. Didn't leave a stone unturned. I really enjoyed the process and I love my cabin. Do I wish I was buying it now, sure, but still I have no regrets. Everything in life happens for a reason. The decor, the attention to detail and the general feel of the place keeps clients happy and coming back. We welcome you into our home away from home, it's your rental revenue that allows all of us to keep enjoying this place, keep coming back, think of the place as your own without any of the hassles, depreciation or declining real estate values or time share costs, dues and monthly payments. We took care of everything so that you don't have to. :)
Nature abounds, the seasons arrive in all their glory, the road is convenient yet peacefully absent of cars. The mountains and sky are pretty much all you see as you relax in the soft leather couch in the living room, watching the game on the flat screen tv as the smell of dinner wafts in from the grill outside. Walk to the winery, bike to the horse stables, hike up our very own personal mountain! It's all here at the cabin at eagle creek.
Thanks so much for a great Octoberfest weekend. Beautiful weather and wonderful friends!
What a great cabin !
We enjoyed the comfortable stay in the cabin and had everything we could possibly need. Attention to detail and cozy for all who shared the weekend with us! Decorated in a great way and the added perks (hot tub, beautiful views, all necessities located in the cabin and just a great layout for a gathering!) are greatly appreciated. Wonderful accommodations and thank you for opening up your cabin on VBRO/HOME AWAY -- we will definitely be back!
Great location. Close to downtown but far enough away for true "winter in the woods" feeling. Beautiful open concept cabin and 8 fit comfortably. 10 might be a squeeze. The owner had cd's and games available for our use which was fun and a sledding hill just outside. The hot tub was a plus but had no idea how to add water since it was a little low and no hose found. We would recommend this property. I would suggest bringing a fire starter. We had wood for a wonderful fire but there was no fire starter or kindling or ax so we had to wait until the next morning to go to the store and buy a couple. Also, microwave did not work. The owner was aware of that and was planning on fixing that issue. All in all, it was a memorable three days.
Everything about our stay was perfect. A group of nine of us stayed for a weekend in October. The cabin was cozy with plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals there. The views are wonderful, especially from the porch. We took a 10 minute Uber ride into Leavenworth to enjoy the Oktoberfest festivities and had a blast! We were not able to connect to wifi but we did not contact the owner for assistance, since we decided to remain "unplugged" for the weekend. No cell service either, but we were able to use the house phone if needed. Kelly was very accommodating and responded quickly to my emails. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend staying at the cabin. We hope to come back someday.
This was a perfect spot for our family get together. The house and furnishings are nice and everything was really clean. We enjoyed the view, the hot tub, and the short drive to town.
Cabin was clean, comfortable and well appointed. We settled in quickly to the great camp vibes there. The beds and couches are super comfortable and kitchen is user friendly. Love the hammock on the deck and the hot tub is a-ok too. In terms of the property, one should be aware that this is set on a steep hill with a fast moving road set beside it, so you need to keep your eyes on your littles and / or dogs at all times. There were also not enough towels for our family of 5 to accommodate the hot tub plus showers, even on a daily basis (recommend to bring some of your own). The wifi had some issues at times as well, but heck, with the nature around you there, better just to go outside!
The Cabin at Eagle Creek is located about 5.5 miles from downtown Leavenworth (very close) but is nestled in an amazing little valley just outside of town. The cabin sits between a winery with a vineyard and an apple orchard with views that look out on a hilly mountainrange. 2 miles further down the road is the Eagle Creek Ranch where one can find horeseback riding and sleighrides in the winter. A block further down the road there are fire service roads that go on for miles and miles and are great for off roading, camping, snowmobiling and ATV'ing. Eagle Creek is one of the best places to stay in Leavenworth in my humble opinion!
