About Mary Pipkin

My husband and I own and operate a marina and charter fishing service. Our family has been blessed to live here since 1985. It’s quite simply our life. And a good life it is, that we are privileged to share with you. We love our little corner of the world and our business allows us live and work and play on our beloved Chesapeake Bay

Mary Pipkin purchased this studio in 2007

Why Mary Pipkin chose Virginia

We had so many inquiries about where to stay from our customers, we decided to have these lovely cottages built to meet the needs of our regular clientele. It was a greater need than we realized. In addition to fishing customers we now have families, honeymooners and regular folks like you and me longing for the Chesapeake Bay. They come for fun in the sun, fishing and water sports or just the peace and tranquility of being ….. on the Bay.

What makes this studio unique

This is the perfect place for the action packed vacation. Situated right on the Chesapeake Bay and the Inter-coastal Waterway puts you right on top of the best fishing and sailing in the region. Bring your jet ski, small water craft and use our deep water ramp. Book a fishing charter or dinner cruise (on site) to fine waterfront dining. Witness glorious sunrises and restful sunsets. Sparkling fields of fireflies at twilight. The sounds of the sea birds. Or just relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of a lovely place not yet discovered by most of the world.

Fantastic vacation

  • 5 of 5

Just came back from a week long vacation at the cabins. The cedar cabins are new, cozy and peaceful with all required amenities and incredibly clean. Capt Billy and Mary were the perfect hosts. Provided us all the information we needed to enjoy our stay without being the least intrusive. Ideal location - away from the crowds, but close to activities - cruise to tangier island, fishing, crabbing, fireworks cruise, several beaches without crowds, Washington's birth place monument etc. My 7 and 8 year old boys also loved using the several amenities onsite - play area, volley ball, toys and a family pet dog, appropriately named "buoy". Perfect vacation overall. We will definitely be back!

Owners were great

  • 5 of 5

It was a cozy, almost new, cedar cabin, on owner's land at Marina. Owner's invited us to go on their boat to watch 4th of July fireworks, which we did, it was fabulous.

We had use of a canoe, that we paddled out of inlet to a beautiful sandy beach, owned by our hosts. The cottage was cute and comfortable with front porch. We will definitely return again.

Great Place to Stay

  • 5 of 5

I've just returned home from an eight week stay off season in one of Ingram Bay Marina's vacation rentals. It was a lovely stay! Mary and Billy were terrific hosts, the cabin was convenient, spotlessly clean, with laundry close by in the bath house and a boat ramp right there. Unfortunately I was off season so the weather wasn't good for more water based activities but I did manage to get out on the creek once. What a great place to stay and go boating from or, take a fishing expedition with Billy. I wouldn't hesitate to return and spend time again. Thanks to Mary and Billy for a great stay!

Great weekend stay!

  • 5 of 5

My boyfriend and I bought a boat in June 2016 and are new to boating. Being that we don't live close to the Chesapeake Bay (our favorite fishing waterway) and have to tow our boat over an hour, we are always on the look out for a marina that offers on-site lodging. This was the perfect place! The two of us and my boyfriends son stayed for the weekend. The cabin was clean, nicely decorated and just steps away from the marina. We were able to easily launch our boat at the boat ramp and put it in our assigned covered slip. The next morning as soon as the sun came up, we were on the water and in The Bay in minutes! The marina is just minutes by car to local stores and eateries too.The cabins kitchen is nicely equipped and had what we needed to cook our catch (including crabs we caught in our pots we put in the water at the marina). It was very peaceful and has beautiful views at sunrise as well as sunset. Captain Billy answered all of our fishing questions and Mary was very accommodating. We totally enjoyed our stay and will be back!

Best vacation ever!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I hadn't had a vacation for over 25 years. We were looking to scout out the area as a retirement possibility and came armed with printouts of homes for sale there. Both Mary and Captain Billy were as charming as they could be, helpful but not the least bit intrusive. The cabin was spotless and comfortable and reasonably priced. It is a relaxing setting and we really enjoyed our sunset cruise. The area is just beautiful. We will definitely be back.
