About Tom Watkins

I am working for an NGO that requires I spend time in Geneva, so am often out of New York.

Tom Watkins purchased this apartment in 1982

Why Tom Watkins chose Manhattan

Because it is in a great location from which the city's attractions are easily accessible -- steps off FifthAvenue between Flatiron, just to the south; Murray Hill, a block to the east; and Midtown, whose southern tip begins four blocks to the north. It's in the center of the Persian rug district, two blocks south of Korea Town and four blocks north of Madison Square Park.

What makes this apartment unique

A clean, quiet, calm, orderly and safe place of refuge that is within walking distance of many of New York's attractions.

Really great location

  • 4 of 5

We stayed for 7 days. It was a great place. Closeness to the Subway and within walking distance of so many cool places.

Empire State, THE Macy's store, Times Square I could go on and on but there's Google. The walk up the stairs is not that bad.

We had a great time and Tom does a great job of replying to you . Get it while you can.

Good Home Base to Tour NYC

  • 3 of 5

The property was as represented. Location was very good to see many of the NYC sites by walking or in close proximity to the subway system for further out attractions. Owner and cleaning staff was accessible both times we made contact.

The apartment was clean and bed was comfortable. The location is excellent! !

The stairway was a challenge for us, but we were aware that the unit was on the 4th floor, and there was no elevator. The stairway and hallway could use some cleaning and updating. The actual unit was fine .

Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I traveled to NYC for the first time to celebrate our one year anniversary. Toms place was perfect for the two of us! You can't beat the price and the location is so great! Close to restaurants, shops, and the subway. The neighborhood is also really safe we had no problem walking around day or night. Tom is also very accessible, responsive, and easy to work with! Thank you for sharing your home with us! Highly recommend this space!

Thanks Tom!

Comfortable space in Great location!

  • 5 of 5

We very much enjoyed our stay at Tom’s apartment, which made us feel like New Yorker’s for a few days. We aimed to steer clear of the frenetic energy that comes with a hotel stay. Tom's apartment is a comfortable abode with beautiful windows and high ceilings. Although there is some ambient street noise, you still feel safe and removed from the hustle and bustle of the city. The bed is extremely comfortable! The bathroom was very clean with fresh new towels. The location is great, close to the subway, train and walking distance to local grocery stores and pharmacies (we really liked Bread & Butter). Tom is extremely responsive and accommodating if you need anything. On our last day, my boyfriend had a bad migraine and I emailed Tom asking if we could check out a little later. He responded very quickly and allowed us to stay beyond the check out time. These are the little things that make all the difference when you are a long way from home. We would definitely stay here again!
