Saturna Seaside is a beautiful, spacious (3400 available sq ft) oceanfront home in the Canadian Gulf Islands on Saturna Island.
Some of this home's most compelling features are the breathtaking views of Winter Cove, Samuel Island, Boat Pass, Anniversary Island and the lights of Grouse Mountain at night.
While cooking dinner, or relaxing in the living room or on the deck of Saturna Seaside, one can view the spectacular sunset, watch the boats negotiate the challenging waters of Boat Pass, or watch your guests play in the water below. Saturna Seaside offers seclusion from bustle and crowds. It is ideal for adults or families seeking a relaxing and recreational retreat from hectic lives.
Our private walk-on beach access makes water play and kayak launching a dream. The two lawn areas, one ocean side and one forest side, are great for volleyball, badminton, croquet or simply lounging.
The rooms at Saturna Seaside are spacious and comfortable. Saturna Island itself offers pristine forest, mountain, coastal and marine environments that one can explore on bike, on foot or by boat. We've spotted eagles, herons, otters, deer and seals near our home and whales within a 15 minute drive.

Maureen and Steve love this island and would like to share its beauty with others. Saturna is a paradise we feel compelled to share with others. We have so enjoyed our time here with family and friends, and try to make our place special for others too.
Maureen McNally purchased this house in 2006
Steve grew up in the Lower Mainland. While visiting family we often vacationed in BC. We toured and vacationed over the years in many of the Gulf Islands before we found this house, this setting, this island. We love our home!
Our holiday at Saturna Seaside was better than expected in every way. The pictures don't do the location justice. We never tired of the view and enjoyed watching the boats in winter cove. The house was larger than we needed with 6 adults and our grandchild and has everything you could ask for.
We loved our stay Saturna Seaside. The home is extremely well-equipped with everything you need for a wonderful vacation. We enjoyed the kayaks, pool table, ping pong, bicycles, games and more. Saturna is a beautiful island with friendly people. We took several beautiful hikes and even watched a pod of several dozen orcas round East Point at sunset. All in all, a wonderful vacation!
This was our second summer vacation at Saturna Seaside, and we enjoyed our stay just as much this year as we did last year! Located on a beautiful, private property with fabulous views from the kitchen, dining area, living room, front lawn and decks looking out over Winter Cove, this home is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, very comfortable, well-equipped, and very well organized for weekly rentals. We particularly enjoyed the kayaks that were available for our use, and also loved our beach walks out to Boat Passage and around the other point near what we call "Seal Rock". Another feature of this property that works so well for us is the accessibility for my 88 year old mother who is not too steady on her feet, to be able to sit out on the deck or in the living room and enjoy the view of the water. The house arrangement also works very well for our extended family group of people ranging in age from 19 to 88 years, with two comfortable bedrooms each with their own private bathrooms upstairs and another large bedroom/bathroom plus den with pullout couch downstairs - lots of room and privacy makes a difference to everyone when combining family groups and people of all ages! Although we enjoyed fabulous sunny weather during our time here, this home would also work well in inclement weather, with its comfortable living room furniture designed for relaxing with a good book, pool and pingpong tables downstairs, spacious den with piano, television and many DVDs, and a myriad of boardgames and books to choose from. Saturna Island is incredibly beautiful - especially breathtaking East Point (possibly my favourite spot in ALL the gulf islands we have visited over the past 20 years) - a short drive away from the house. Lastly, you can't come to Saturna without trying those wonderful Saturna Island cookies at the general store - to die for! We are now bringing them back to share with co-workers and friends! We will definitely think about returning to this lovely spot again in the future! Thank you to our friendly, well organized hosts for a wonderful time once again!
We rented the house with another family and had a great time. I had looked long and hard before choosing Saturna and was thrilled. It offered the diversions I wanted -in case of rain -books, videos, pool table, ping pong table and games. As well as outdoor toys, kayaks and bikes. The location was such that we could walk to some parks and water access as well as get to East Point to watch the whales. winter Cove was always entertaining, especially watching the ever changing boat passage.
The house was well equipped, the kitchen well stocked with everything labeled -not to mention the wonderful view while cooking.
We very much enjoyed the quaintness of the island and all it's natural wonders. Well worth the trip.
The owner was helpful, timely and responsive. I would highly recommend a stay.
Fantastic view, accommodation , loved the kyaks , badminton , games room and the fully stocked kitchen as far as bowls, cake pans, tools for the kitchen Etc.
Many great hikes and really enjoyed this peaceful getaway .
Weather was pretty good , had a couple of rainy days but there were lots of books, movies and games for everyone to enjoy .
We had fabulous weather for the whole week. Although we did not see any whales at East Point nor at Narvaez Bay, we had our share of seeing deer - some fauns were probably a day or 2 old. along the road. In Winter cove we had a baby seal sniffing at our kayaks. Lots of eagles, great blue herons, humming birds.
By the way, my wife found the double kayak easier to handle than the single; the other passenger was along for the ride - our 3-year-old granddaughter.
We had a crab cage setup that we were able to catch some good size ones - threw a lot back - too small.
Be careful of the boat passage; you do not want to get swept through there when kayaking.
The cottage was very well appointed. The island kitchen was quite well set up; what with the bar stools, we had breakfast around this island.
Beds were comfortable - slept well. We had our 3-year-old granddaughter with us as well besides her parents.
They have lots of movies to keep children (and adults) occupied in the evening.
We made good use of the telescope and binoculars.
So the place sleeps 10 people, we were only 5 so did not use the king room.
When we checked out, we were wishing that we could have stayed longer.
