Hillside Haven Guest Suite is located in beautiful Auke Bay Alaska. We are located 1/8 of a mile past the Alaska Marine Highway Ferry Dock on a secluded piece of property just steps from Auke Nu Cove, a perfect place to launch your kayak adventure, and backed by Tongass National Forest where the hiking opportunities are limitless.
Auke Bay is a great place to start your fishing day for halibut and salmon or if you prefer, a whale watching tour to watch feeding Humpback or Orca whales. Watch eagles soar over the cove or perched up in a tree from outside your window, deer eating new green shoots of grass in the spring, or the occasional black bear patrolling the area in the fall all from your front deck. Our newly built accommodation is peaceful and private with plenty of room to relax and take in the beauty of a true Alaskan experience.
Come enjoy the Alaska that is waiting for you outside your front door.

We have lived in different areas of Alaska for the past 17 years. We are a very active family that loves to travel and explore. We love camping, boating and doing anything active in this incredibly beautiful country we live in. We truly enjoy meeting new people and are always excited to help travelers enjoy the most of Juneau.
Theresa Abbas purchased this cabin in 2008
We built this vacation rental in this area so others could experience the quiet, peaceful and beautiful surrounds that we see every day.
Hillside Haven Guest Suite offers a relaxing get away in the Auke Bay area of Juneau. It has an enclosed steam shower with a two person whirlpool tub, full kitchen, an amazing view of Auke Nu Cove, a huge bedroom and radiant in floor heat. We are close enough that you can walk to the Alaska Marine Highway Terminal or Auke Bay recreational area. The suite is in a separate building with your own private entrance.
Thanks so much for sharing this haven with us. Phil and I have had a delightful time in Juneau - kayaking, hiking, ziplining, fishing (no luck) and, yes, a little shopping. Weve told everyone what a great place we've been staying. Best wishes for your children and each of you.
Theresa has done a wonderful job at preparing a perfect environment for a stay in Auke Bay. This was my second visit and I hope to come back in 2017. Every comfort is available. I love sitting in the living room and looking out over the bay, watching the ferry and charter boats come and go!
Theresa and her husband's hospitality is to be praised as is the suite they are renting out. We found it to be exceptionally well equipped and comfortable and as Theresa wanted 'a home from home'
We wanted peace and quiet and its position met these requirements being a little out of downtown Juneau, as well as relatively close to the airport (our point of entry and exit)
The studio was wonderful. Our family of four stayed here for 2.5 weeks moving to Juneau. It's big enough so you don't feel cramped. Well decorated. Washer and dryer, too! It is out in Auke bay so a little bit of a drive to downtown. We enjoyed the trails around Auke bay.
Me and my sisters stayed here for a sisters trip to explore the Juneau area. We could not have asked for a more perfect place. It was a wonderful location away from town but near Auke Bay and the delicious Hot Bite restaurant. We kayaked from the bay, watched the tide come in and out from our living room window and enjoyed the very comfortable and well designed apartment. I selfishly hope this place is never sold because I want to go back.
My husband and I spent a week in Juneau and stayed at the Hillside Haven. This property is quiet, secluded, very modern and clean. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen had some of the basics needed for cooking. It's located across the street from Auke Bay and the Alaskan Marina. It's also close to a few restaurants and the Mendenhall glacier. The owner, Theresa, was very quick to respond to my reservation request and other questions I had. She also has an awesome book with detailed descriptions of nearby hiking trails. And there are a lot! We hiked a different trail every day that we were there. We absolutely love this place and highly recommended staying there.
We loved Hillside Haven and would highly recommend to anyone staying for a few days in Juneau. The view from the window was beautiful, high in the trees looking down onto the bay. We like coming home at the end of the day of sightseeing and hiking to a place we can relax, have a glass of wine and cook on the grill! Bed was very comfy and shower amazing! As mentioned by others caretaker was very nice and Theresa very accommodating. Use of a washer and dryer also a great help. Another great feature, not in downtown Juneau with the huge number of cruise ship passengers. We liked being a bit away from that. Stay here, you will love it!
