About Annie Hughes
We moved out of London two and half years ago to see if the grass is indeed greener in the countryside. We wanted to be in a traditional village community but with access to theatres, restaurants, shops – which we have here. We’re both happiest at home or exploring our local area with friends and family. We love entertaining and the studio is an extension of our open house.
Annie Hughes purchased this Cottage in 2013
Why Annie Hughes chose Haslemere
This property has had only two previous families living in it since 1930s - and we've met them both. It's always been a very happy home. Its extremely old in parts (16th Century) and modern in others (the studio, the main living area of the house). We loved that the property sat in the middle of its garden and that our children had instant access to the outdoors; and tennis and swimming. We also loved that while it feels rural, we do have neighbours and we are a few minutes walk into the village, with its shops, pub and green.

A beautiful cottage in a beautiful area
The converted artist's studio was spacious, light and extremely comfortable. The owners had done everything to make us feel welcome. The surrounding grounds are beautiful, as is the whole area around Fernhurst. I highly recommend this property..
Thank you so much for your kind words. We loved having you all to stay. Do come back again! Annie

Absolutely fantastic week staying at The Studio - igorgeous hot weather 28-32 degrees! It was so comfortable and brilliant with all the facilities. We had a great time thank you so much!
Fantastic, peaceful location
Beautiful property, clean, bright and everything you could want. Owners live on site and are just lovely, nothing too much trouble. Would certainly recommend a stay here.
Thank you so much. So glad you had good weather and a lovely time. You were perfect guests! Annie
Outstanding accomodation, as a home, while exploring the region.
We rented the cottage for 10 days in June 2018 as a "home base" to visit several relatives in the local area. Annie and Guy were great hosts, ensuring a memorable visit. The cottage was well appointed; a bonus being a starter food package including coffee, tea, eggs, butter and more. We thoroughly enjoyed walks in the local fields and forest trails each morning. We highly recommend this rental.

Thank you so much for being outstanding guests! I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay. Annie
Lovely comfortable property
Myself and 3 companions stayed at the Studio for 3 nights, we found it very comfortable. Plenty of room for 4 adults. It is in a very peaceful location and in the grounds of a beautiful house. Annie made us very welcome and provided a few basics which was appreciated. We sampled a few of the locally eateries recommended in the "property guide" and enjoyed them both. Thank you for a lovely stay and we hope to be back in the future.
Delightful large cottage in beautiful countryside. Very accommodating owners - really nice folks! Lots of kid toys for families but also very very quiet and peaceful for couples. Needs a microwave and a dishwasher would be nice - no washer/dryer but that's OK. Car a must to see the great sights nearby. One of the nicest spots we've stayed among 200 or so. Recommend highly.
We loved having you! Perfect guests and thank you for your lovely review. Since you've stayed, we do now have a microwave and a washer dryer - no dishwasher yet.....
I hope to see you another year!
